Kroma was a Layer 2 network on Ethereum, built on the Optimism Bedrock design. It operated as an optimistic rollup that added ZK fault proofs, meaning disputes about a transaction batch could be settled with zero-knowledge proofs instead of only a long challenge game. It was EVM-style, so Ethereum smart contracts and tools could move over with little change. The project was backed by game company WEMADE and pitched itself as a base for Web3 games and gamification.
