What SPACE ID is

SPACE ID is a name service project for Web3. A name service turns long wallet addresses into short, readable names, much like a domain name stands in for a numeric internet address. SPACE ID describes itself as a universal network for these names, with a single platform where users can discover, register, trade and manage Web3 domains.

The project is not tied to a single blockchain. It aims to offer multi-chain naming, so one identity can be used across several networks rather than being locked to one. It also provides a Web3 Name SDK and API. These are developer tools that let wallets, apps and other services look up and display names without building their own naming system.

In practice, a name can serve as a payment handle, a public profile label or a login identity. The idea is that people share a name instead of a string of letters and numbers, which cuts down on copy-and-paste mistakes.

The ID token is the native asset linked to this ecosystem. It is classed here as an NFT-related token because the domains themselves are usually held as tokens on-chain. Other category labels on the token include BNB Chain ecosystem and Ethereum ecosystem, and it has also been listed among Binance Launchpad projects.

What the ID token is used for

Public descriptions of the ID token, including an educational write-up from 2023, say it works as a payment asset, a governance token and a staking asset inside the SPACE ID ecosystem. That is the general picture, and the details of any given feature can change as the project updates its products.

Payment is the use most visible in recent news. In April 2025, SPACE ID announced Payment ID on MetaMask and other wallets. The feature is meant to let users send cross-chain transfers from decentralized wallets to centralized exchanges such as Binance. It works through a name or identity instead of a manually entered deposit address, which lowers the risk of sending funds to the wrong place.

Governance means token holders may have a say in how the protocol develops, though the scope of voting rights depends on the project's current setup. Staking generally means locking tokens for a period, sometimes in exchange for rewards or access to features.

Readers should check the project's own documentation for the current list of ID utilities, fees and eligibility rules. Utility descriptions written years ago may no longer match how the token works today.

Supply and tokenomics

ID has a maximum supply of 2 billion tokens. As of 2026-11-05, the total supply in existence is about 1.99 billion, and roughly 1.56 billion are counted as circulating. That leaves around 440 million tokens that exist but are not yet counted as circulating, which usually means they are locked, vested or held in reserve.

The gap between circulating supply and total supply is worth understanding. At that date, the market capitalization was about $45.5 million, based on circulating tokens, while the fully diluted valuation was about $58.3 million, based on the larger supply. If more tokens enter circulation, the difference between those two figures narrows, and the extra supply can add selling pressure depending on who holds the tokens and what they choose to do.

This page does not have a verified breakdown of how the supply was originally allocated among the team, investors, community and ecosystem funds, or a verified unlock schedule. Anyone researching the token should look for the official tokenomics documentation and check the details against on-chain data. Allocation tables found on third-party sites can be outdated.

Chains and how ID is held and traded

ID is issued on two networks: BNB Chain and Ethereum. It is not the native coin of any blockchain, so moving it requires a small amount of each network's own coin to pay transaction fees. That means BNB for BNB Chain and ETH for Ethereum.

Tokens on different chains are separate versions of the asset. A wallet that holds ID on Ethereum does not automatically hold it on BNB Chain. Before sending, always confirm that the receiving address or exchange deposit page supports the specific network you are using. Sending to the wrong network is a common cause of lost funds.

In general terms, people hold ID in a self-custody wallet that supports these networks, or leave it on an exchange that lists it. Trading usually happens on centralized exchanges and on decentralized exchanges on the supported chains. Trading activity is modest compared with large tokens. As of 2026-11-05, 24-hour volume was about $2.3 million, and the token ranked around 475 by market cap. Lower volume can mean wider gaps between buy and sell prices, especially for larger orders.

History and notable events

The exact launch date of the ID token is not given in the data used for this page. Public records show the project was active and being described as a universal name service by early 2023, and it was later associated with a Binance Launchpad listing. It also appears in the portfolios of YZi Labs, formerly Binance Labs, and DWF Labs, which are listed among its backers or holdings.

The price peaked at about $1.84 on 2024-03-17, which is the recorded all-time high. It has fallen a great deal since. The all-time low of about $0.023 was recorded on 2026-06-06, and as of 2026-11-05 the price was about $0.029. Over the previous year, the token was down roughly 66 percent, and it was down about 1.8 percent over the prior seven days.

There have been short rallies along the way. One report from January 2026 described a sharp one-day jump of more than 28 percent, but moves like that have not changed the longer downward trend. The April 2025 Payment ID launch was a product milestone, though a product launch does not by itself determine how a token trades.

Risks to understand

The first risk is price volatility. A fall of around two-thirds in a year and a drop of well over 90 percent from the peak show how much value ID has lost. Past performance does not indicate what happens next, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell.

Second, the project depends on adoption. A name service is only useful if wallets, exchanges and apps support it. SPACE ID competes with other naming systems, including well-established ones on Ethereum, so it must keep winning integrations to stay relevant.

Third, supply is a factor. Hundreds of millions of tokens are not yet in circulation, and future releases could affect the market. Liquidity is also limited, so large trades can move the price.

Fourth, there are the usual smart contract risks. Bugs, bridge problems or compromised admin keys can cause losses on any on-chain protocol. Domain names themselves can also be targets for phishing, with lookalike names used to trick people into sending funds to the wrong place.

Finally, token utility descriptions can go out of date, and project teams can change plans. Read current official documentation and never put in money you cannot afford to lose.

How to store ID safely

For anything beyond small amounts, a self-custody wallet gives you control of your own keys. Hardware wallets that support Ethereum and BNB Chain are a common choice because the private keys stay on the device and are not exposed to your computer or phone. Write down the recovery phrase on paper or metal, keep it offline, and never type it into a website or share it with anyone, including people claiming to be support staff.

Before interacting with ID, check that you have the correct contract address from an official source, because fake tokens with the same name and symbol are common. Send a small test transaction first, and confirm the network, BNB Chain or Ethereum, matches the destination.

Be careful with token approvals. When you connect a wallet to a dApp, you may grant permission to spend your tokens. Review and revoke approvals you no longer need. Treat unexpected airdrops, links in direct messages and urgent requests to verify your wallet as likely scams.

If you keep ID on an exchange, remember that you rely on the exchange's security and withdrawal policies. Turn on two-factor authentication and use a unique password.
