## What is Djed (DJED)?
Djed (DJED) is a stablecoin issued on the Cardano blockchain. It is designed to track the value of the US dollar, so one DJED is intended to be worth about one dollar. Unlike a fiat-backed stablecoin, Djed’s design uses ADA held in a smart-contract reserve rather than a stated reserve of dollars or other conventional assets. The protocol also uses SHEN as a reserve coin to help support the system’s collateral pool. Djed is often described as an algorithmic stablecoin, but that label does not mean its price is guaranteed to stay at one dollar. The peg depends on the reserve, protocol rules, market conditions and the ability to mint or redeem tokens. DJED is not Cardano’s native network token; it is a Cardano-issued asset.
## How does the stablecoin design work?
Djed’s stability mechanism is built around collateral and smart-contract rules. ADA is deposited into a reserve, and the protocol can issue DJED against that collateral. SHEN acts as the reserve coin, intended to provide a buffer as the value of ADA changes. The design is meant to keep the value of assets in reserve above the value of DJED issued, rather than relying on an equal amount of cash for each token. Users can mint or burn tokens through the protocol, subject to its rules and the reserve’s condition. Those rules can affect whether a transaction is available and what fees or amounts apply. The information available here does not specify current collateral thresholds or redemption terms, so check the protocol’s current interface and documentation before relying on a particular redemption path.
## Uses and supply
DJED is intended for uses where a dollar-linked asset may be useful within Cardano, including transfers and activity in decentralized finance applications. A stablecoin can make it easier to quote prices or move value between supported apps without directly using a volatile asset such as ADA. Whether DJED is accepted depends on the individual wallet, exchange or dApp; issuance on Cardano does not mean every service supports it. As of 2026-11-05, the reported circulating and total supply were both about 4.02 million DJED, with no maximum supply reported. Its price was about $0.993 and its market capitalization about $4.0 million at that time. These are snapshots, not guarantees of future supply, trading activity or peg performance. Check the token and market details again before making a transaction.
## Risks to understand
A dollar target does not remove the risks of holding DJED. ADA’s market value can fall sharply, reducing the value of the reserve that supports the system. If reserve conditions become strained, protocol rules may limit minting or redemptions, and a user may not be able to exchange DJED on their preferred schedule or at the expected value. DJED can also trade below or above its target on markets if buyers and sellers are imbalanced or liquidity is limited. Smart-contract defects, disruptions to Cardano or problems with the protocol’s operation are additional risks. A stablecoin’s design and past trading price cannot guarantee that it will maintain its peg in every market condition. Read current protocol terms and consider that you could lose value or have difficulty accessing funds.
## Where DJED runs and how to store it
DJED is issued on Cardano, so you need a wallet that supports Cardano assets and the correct DJED token. Before sending it, confirm the asset identifier in your wallet or through an official project source; token names and symbols alone are not enough to distinguish assets. Keep your recovery phrase offline and private, and never share it with a website, support account or person claiming to help. A self-custody wallet gives you control of the keys, but also makes you responsible for protecting them. If you hold DJED through an exchange or another service, that provider controls access under its own terms. Check the network and destination address carefully: a transfer sent using an unsupported network or to the wrong address may not be recoverable.
By the numbers
Djed in numbers
Djed (DJED) is ranked #1,826 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $4.04M and a price of $1.01 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($4.04M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was up 0.1% over 7 days, down 0.7% over 30 days, up 0.4% over the past year. It trades about 22% below its all-time high of $1.29, set on Nov 16, 2025.
About 4.02M DJED are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.
24-hour trading volume was about $24.9K, or 0.6% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
DJED has token contracts on Cardano. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

DJED FAQs
Is DJED always worth one US dollar?
Djed is designed to track the US dollar, but its market price can move above or below that target. The peg depends on the protocol’s reserve and market conditions.
What blockchain is DJED on?
DJED is issued on Cardano and is not Cardano’s native network token. It is a stablecoin asset that can be used where Cardano wallets and dApps support it.
What backs the Djed stablecoin?
Djed’s design uses ADA in a smart-contract reserve and SHEN as a reserve coin. The system’s rules govern minting and burning, and the value of ADA can affect the reserve’s strength.
How do I store DJED?
Use a wallet that supports Cardano assets and verify the DJED asset identifier before receiving or sending tokens. Protect your recovery phrase and confirm the network and address for every transfer.
Can DJED lose its peg?
No. A target peg is not a guarantee, and DJED may trade away from one dollar. Reserve stress, limited liquidity, smart-contract issues or network disruptions may affect its value or accessibility.
What is the market cap of Djed?
As of Nov 6, 2026, Djed had a market cap of about $4.04M, ranking #1,826 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of DJED?
Djed's all-time high is $1.29, reached on Nov 16, 2025. Its all-time low is $0.4921 (Oct 10, 2025). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of DJED?
As of Nov 6, 2026, about 4.02M DJED were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.
Which blockchains is DJED on?
It has token contracts on Cardano.
