What Alphabet xStock (GOOGLX) is

Alphabet xStock (GOOGLX) is a tokenized version of Alphabet Inc. stock, the parent company of Google. It belongs to the xStocks family, which the project describes as tokenized US stocks and ETFs that are backed 1:1 by the underlying assets. The same family is listed under the BackedFi xStocks ecosystem. The project says the tokens are composable with DeFi protocols, built to comply with EU regulations, aimed at non-US users, and give a legal claim to the value of the stock.

The wording matters. Some third-party descriptions say GOOGLX is a token that tracks Alphabet's share price and does not make you a shareholder, with no voting rights or direct ownership of the shares. The project's own description speaks of a legal claim to the stock's value. Those two statements are compatible: you hold an exposure to the price, not a brokerage account position.

The project says the xStocks range covers 57 US stocks and ETFs, and GOOGLX is the Alphabet entry. At the time of writing it ranked around 361 by market capitalization. Anyone considering it should read the issuer's terms and prospectus-style documents to see exactly what rights the token carries in their jurisdiction.

What the token is used for

The main purpose of GOOGLX is to give people price exposure to Alphabet stock through a crypto wallet or exchange account instead of a traditional broker. The project pitches this at users who face borders, broker limits or high costs when trying to buy US equities.

Because it is an ordinary token on public blockchains, it can in principle be used like other tokens. The project says it can be integrated with DeFi protocols, so it could be posted as collateral, swapped on decentralized exchanges or held in self-custody wallets. How much of that is available depends on which platforms list it and on which chain.

Recent coverage of the token points to exchange integrations and wider financial uses rather than changes to a public codebase, which fits a token whose value comes from an off-chain asset. Some venues have also offered perpetual contracts referencing GOOGLX. Those are leveraged derivatives and are a different, much riskier product than holding the token itself. In some regions they are restricted, so check what is legally available to you.

GOOGLX is not a governance token, it does not pay fees for a network, and it is not the native token of any chain.

Supply and tokenomics

GOOGLX has no fixed maximum supply. Supply is meant to follow demand: new tokens are issued as stock is backing them, and tokens are removed when holders redeem or sell back. That is different from a typical crypto token with a set emission schedule.

As of 2026-11-05, the data shows about 228,000 tokens in circulation and about 634,000 in total supply. At a price of about $292.86, that gives a market capitalization of roughly $66.8 million. The fully diluted value is about $185.6 million, based on the larger total supply figure. Because there is no max supply, the fully diluted number should be read cautiously, since the total figure can change as tokens are minted or burned.

The price is supposed to follow Alphabet's share price, so there is no separate tokenomics story of team allocations or vesting. The 24-hour trading volume was about $11.4 million at the time of writing.

It is also worth noting that supply split across six chains can make reported figures look different between data sites, depending on which deployments they count.

Chains, holding and trading

GOOGLX is issued on six networks: Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Mantle and TON. Each deployment is a separate token contract on its own chain, so a GOOGLX balance on one network is not automatically usable on another. Moving between chains generally relies on whatever bridging or redemption routes the issuer and exchanges support.

Most people will meet the token in one of three places. Centralized exchanges that list xStocks let you buy with a deposit and hold the token in an exchange account. Decentralized exchanges on the supported chains let you swap stablecoins or other tokens for it directly from a wallet. Some platforms also offer it inside DeFi apps.

Liquidity varies by venue and by chain. A token that tracks a stock can drift from the share price when markets are closed, because US exchanges only trade at set hours while blockchains run around the clock. Spreads can widen outside those hours, and thin pools can make large trades costly. Check the contract address on the chain you use before trading, since copies and lookalike tokens exist across crypto.

History and notable events

The price history reflects the movement of Alphabet's shares, with some added crypto-market noise. The recorded all-time low was about $169.43 on 2025-07-02, and the all-time high was about $408.30 on 2026-05-18. As of 2026-11-05, the price was about $292.86, around 0.2% lower over seven days and about 5.4% higher over one year.

The launch date is not given in the data, though the all-time low in mid-2025 suggests trading began around that period or earlier. The xStocks range as a whole was built by the Backed team and rolled out to more chains over time, which explains the six current deployments.

The most recent news in the search data, from October 2026, centres on exchange integrations and added financial uses. Earlier explainers from March and April 2026 describe it as a tokenized certificate tracking Alphabet's share price on Solana and Ethereum, and note that it does not equal direct ownership. I found no major security incidents, but the data is limited, so check the issuer's announcements for anything recent.

Risks to understand

Tokenized stocks carry several risks beyond ordinary share price moves. First is issuer and custody risk: the token is only as sound as the entity holding the real shares and the legal structure around the claim. If that party fails, is sanctioned or freezes redemptions, the token could lose its link to the stock.

Second is legal and access risk. The project says the tokens are aimed at non-US users and built with EU rules in mind. Availability, tax treatment and investor protections differ by country, and some platforms restrict users by region. Do not try to get around such restrictions or identity checks.

Third is price and liquidity risk. The token can trade at a premium or discount to Alphabet shares, especially when US markets are closed or pools are shallow. Smart contract bugs and bridge failures are further risks on any chain. You also may not get dividends or voting rights in the way a direct shareholder would.

Finally, leveraged products such as perpetual contracts tied to GOOGLX can lead to fast losses. This page is not financial advice and makes no price predictions.

How to store it safely

How you store GOOGLX depends on the chain. For Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Chain and Mantle, a standard EVM wallet works. For Solana, you need a Solana-compatible wallet, and for TON, a TON wallet. A hardware wallet that supports the network adds protection for larger balances, and the seed phrase should be written down offline and never shared or stored in photos or cloud notes.

Before you receive or buy the token, confirm that your wallet supports that specific chain and the token standard, and check the contract address against the issuer's official documentation. Send a small test transfer first. Sending to the wrong network can mean permanent loss.

Keeping tokens on an exchange is simpler, but you then rely on the exchange's custody and its rules about withdrawals. Some xStocks transfers may be restricted to eligible, verified users, so a withdrawal may require completing identity checks, which you should do honestly and not try to bypass.

Beware of phishing sites and fake token approvals. Revoke permissions you no longer use, and keep records of your transactions for tax reporting.
