YFX Review 2026: Arbitrum Perp DEX With Up to 100x Leverage

YFX is a decentralized perpetual futures exchange on Arbitrum that advertises up to 100x leverage. Its on-chain TVL is now tiny, so treat it as a high-risk, low-liquidity venue.

Our verdict on YFX

4.2/10

YFX suits experienced derivatives traders who want to examine a small on-chain perpetuals venue on Arbitrum and who understand liquidation risk. Its strengths are public contract code, two listed audits and per-second funding fees. The main caveat is scale: TVL of about $356 signals minimal liquidity and uncertain activity. Beginners and anyone wanting deep liquidity should look elsewhere or verify current status on the official site first.

What is YFX?

YFX describes itself as a decentralized perpetual exchange offering up to 100x leverage, high liquidity, low fees and no slippage. It runs on Arbitrum and is listed under derivatives on DefiLlama, which has tracked it since August 2022's successor listing in August 2023. It has its own token, YFX.

The project's GitHub organisation holds eight repositories, including contract code for versions 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the protocol and a separate token repository. That shows the protocol has been rebuilt several times. The project also runs a referral program and publishes a fees page.

The main concern is scale. DefiLlama shows total value locked of about $356, which is very small for a derivatives venue that depends on liquidity. Whether the project is still actively developed is not clear, so anyone considering it should check the official site and social channels for current status.

How YFX works

A perpetual futures contract lets a trader bet on whether an asset's price will rise or fall without owning it and without a set expiry date. On a decentralized perpetual exchange such as YFX, the user deposits margin into smart contracts, picks a market, and opens a long or short position with leverage. The contracts hold the collateral and track profit and loss.

Because perpetuals never expire, a funding fee passes between long and short traders to keep the contract price near the underlying market price. YFX says its funding fees are calculated per second on-chain, and the trading page shows an estimated 1-hour figure. If a position loses enough value that its margin no longer covers the loss, it is liquidated.

The project's description mentions high liquidity and no slippage, which is typical language for pool-based or oracle-priced designs. The project does not spell out YFX's exact pricing or liquidity mechanism, so check the project's documentation for how prices and liquidity providers work in the current version.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Perpetual futures trading is settled on-chain on Arbitrum, so users keep control of their wallet
  • Contract code for several protocol versions is public on GitHub
  • Two audits are listed on DefiLlama
  • Funding fees are calculated per second, and an estimate is shown before trading
  • A referral program offers fee discounts and rebates

Watch out for

  • Total value locked is only about $356, which points to very little liquidity and activity
  • High leverage of up to 100x can liquidate a position within a small price move
  • Only two audits are listed and the audit reports are not summarised in the project's public pages
  • Team, company structure and regulatory status are not published
  • Token price information for YFX varies widely between sources, so the market for the token is hard to judge
  • Several contract versions (V1 to V4) exist, which makes it harder for a newcomer to know which one is live

YFX fees

The project's fees page says funding fees on YFX are calculated per second on the blockchain, and the trading page shows a 1-hour estimated funding fee. Funding is the periodic payment between long and short traders that keeps the perpetual price close to the spot price.

A referral program gives invitees a trading fee discount and inviters a rebate. The exact trading fee rate, liquidation fee and other charges are not reproduced here, so check the fees page on the official site before trading. Network gas costs on Arbitrum apply on top.

Is YFX safe?

DefiLlama lists two audits for YFX, but the audit firms and findings are not given, so read the reports yourself. Contract code is public on GitHub across multiple versions. Public code and audits reduce risk but do not remove it, and each new version brings new contract risk.

Leveraged trading carries the risk of fast liquidation, and a derivatives venue with very low TVL may have thin liquidity and larger price impact. The team, legal entity and regulatory status are not published. Derivatives trading may be restricted in some countries, so check local rules. Only trade money you can afford to lose.

6 steps

How to get started with YFX

  1. 1

Check that trading leveraged derivatives is legal where you live and that you understand the risk of liquidation.

  2. 2

Install a self-custody wallet that supports Arbitrum and bridge in the collateral asset plus a small amount of ETH for gas.

  3. 3

Open the official YFX site, confirm the address carefully, and connect your wallet.

  4. 4

Read the fees page, including how funding fees work, before opening a position.

  5. 5

Start with a small position and low leverage, and set your margin so you can see the liquidation price.

  6. 6

Monitor open positions and funding costs, and close or add margin before the liquidation price is reached.

Who YFX is for

YFX is for experienced traders comfortable with leverage, funding rates and self-custody wallets on Arbitrum, and for researchers interested in how earlier perpetual DEX versions were built. It is a poor fit for beginners or for anyone who needs deep liquidity.

YFX FAQs

What is YFX?

YFX is a decentralized perpetual exchange. Users trade perpetual futures contracts with leverage, with trades settled by smart contracts on Arbitrum rather than through a centralized order book run by a company.

How much leverage does YFX offer?

The project describes up to 100x leverage. Leverage that high means a small adverse price move can wipe out your margin, so it suits only experienced traders who understand liquidation.

Which blockchain does YFX run on?

YFX is deployed on Arbitrum, according to DefiLlama data. The project's GitHub lists contract repositories for versions 1 through 4.

What fees does YFX charge?

The project's fees page says funding fees are calculated per second on-chain, and the trading page shows a 1-hour estimated funding fee. A separate referral program offers fee discounts to invitees and rebates to inviters. A full fee schedule is not reproduced here, so check the fees page on the official site.

Does YFX have a token?

The YFX token is the project's own token, listed with the ticker YFX and a maximum supply of 100 million according to one price-tracking result. Its role in the protocol is not detailed beyond that, and quoted prices differ between sources.

Is YFX safe to use?

Not necessarily, but the risk is high. DefiLlama lists two audits, yet TVL is around $356, so liquidity is minimal. Leveraged trading can lose your whole deposit, and you should only risk money you can afford to lose.
