Symmetry Review 2026: Solana Baskets with Intents

Symmetry is a Solana protocol for creating tokenized baskets of up to 100 assets, rebalanced through auctions and automated by intents. Its V3 is in beta and on-chain TVL is small, so treat it as an infrastructure tool still proving itself.

Our verdict on Symmetry

6.6/10

Symmetry suits Solana-native traders, DAOs and builders who want programmable multi-asset baskets with automated, auction-based rebalancing. Its main strength is the design: up to 100 assets per token, intents run by keepers, and in-kind mint and redeem. The main caveat is maturity. V3 is in beta, TVL is only about $156,000, fee levels are not published on the homepage, and headline volume figures are self-reported. Start small and read the audits and docs first.

What is Symmetry?

Symmetry is an on-chain asset management protocol on Solana. DefiLlama describes it as Solana's asset management infrastructure layer and lists it under Indexes. Users and DAOs can create tokenized baskets that bundle many assets into one token.

The homepage says V3 mainnet is live in beta. It adds oracle aggregation, baskets of up to 100 tokens, and permissions and cooldowns. The site claims roughly $600m to $740m in volume and more than 980 baskets managed on V2, though these figures are self-reported and the page shows two different versions.

On-chain TVL is small, at about $156,000 on DefiLlama, down 13.2% over the week, and the protocol has been listed there since February 2023. DefiLlama shows two audits, and no token. The project positions itself for traders, DAOs, funds and structured products, with a custom Enterprise tier for institutions.

How Symmetry works

A basket is an on-chain vault that holds several assets and issues one token representing a share of them. You choose up to 100 assets and their weights, and holders can trade or redeem the basket token. Deposits and withdrawals are made in kind, in the underlying assets, which the project says stops new deposits from diluting existing holders.

When the mix drifts from target weights, the basket rebalances through Dutch auctions. The price starts at one level and moves until a participant takes the trade, with oracle snapshots and confidence bands guiding the range. Managers can set how fast the auctions run and how much slippage is acceptable.

Automation runs on intents. You state an outcome, constraints, an expiry and a bounty. Keepers, which anyone can run, compete to execute the transaction when the conditions are true and collect the bounty. This covers limit orders, scheduled rebalances and protective swaps without the user watching the market.

7 features

Key features

01

Tokenized asset baskets

Create a basket of up to 100 assets with chosen weights. A single minted token represents the whole multi-asset exposure and can be held, traded or integrated.

02

Auction-based rebalancing

Baskets rebalance via Dutch auctions that use oracle snapshots and confidence bands, with adjustable per-trade and global slippage.

03

Intent engine

Limit orders, circuit breakers, schedules and multi-step strategies are written as intents. Permissionless keepers execute them when conditions are met.

04

Oracle aggregation

V3 adds oracle aggregation, using Pyth and on-chain TWAP sources, to blend several price feeds with confidence bands.

05

In-kind mint and redeem

New deposits and redemptions happen in the underlying assets, which the homepage says means new deposits never dilute existing holders.

06

Permissions and cooldowns

V3 offers permissions and cooldowns for baskets, plus enterprise options such as role-based profiles and multisig workflows.

07

SDKs and integrations

The homepage mentions SDKs for bots, DAOs and multisigs, and integrations with AMMs and Pyth.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Baskets can hold up to 100 assets under a single token, which suits index-style exposure.
  • Dutch-auction rebalancing with oracle confidence bands aims to reduce slippage.
  • Intent engine lets users automate limit orders, schedules and protective swaps without watching markets.
  • In-kind mint and redeem is designed so new deposits do not dilute holders.
  • DefiLlama lists two audits, and the platform has a history on Solana back to V2.
  • Building is free on the stated plan, with SDKs for bots, DAOs and multisigs.

Watch out for

  • TVL is only about $156,000 on DefiLlama, small for a protocol describing itself as infrastructure, and it fell 13.2% over seven days.
  • V3 is described as live in beta, so the newest version has a shorter track record than V2.
  • The homepage gives no fee percentages; it only says fees are dynamic, so costs are unclear before launch.
  • Volume and basket figures on the homepage are self-reported and inconsistent ($600m and $740m; 990+ and 980+ baskets).
  • Relies on oracles (Pyth and on-chain TWAPs) and on keepers executing intents, which adds dependencies beyond the smart contracts.
  • No token is listed, and public sources name no team, so users have little to judge governance or incentives by.

Symmetry fees

The homepage says the protocol is free to build on, with dynamic protocol fees that scale with use. Builders and traders get the full feature set at no plan cost, and a custom Enterprise tier is available on request.

No specific fee percentages appear. Users should check the app and the documentation to see the fees for a particular basket before depositing. Network transaction costs on Solana and keeper bounties on intents would also apply in practice.

Is Symmetry safe?

DefiLlama lists two audits for Symmetry, but the project does not name the auditors or what was covered. The homepage cites permissions, cooldowns, in-kind mint and redeem, and on-chain auditability. It describes the system as permissionless with no custodian, so users hold basket tokens from their own wallets and carry smart-contract risk.

Other risks include oracle errors or manipulation despite aggregation, keeper behaviour, and the beta status of V3. With only about $156,000 in TVL, liquidity may be thin for some baskets. No incidents are mentioned publicly, and no regulatory status is stated. This is not financial advice.

6 steps

How to get started with Symmetry

  1. 1

Read the Symmetry docs to understand baskets, intents and the V3 beta status.

  2. 2

Set up a Solana wallet and fund it with a small amount of SOL and USDC.

  3. 3

Open the app and connect the wallet.

  4. 4

Create a basket or pick an existing one, choosing assets and weights or a preset.

  5. 5

Set rebalancing speed and slippage settings, then review the fees shown in the app.

  6. 6

Deposit a small amount first and confirm you receive basket tokens before adding more.

Who Symmetry is for

Symmetry is for Solana users comfortable with wallets and DeFi who want index-style baskets or automated strategies. It also targets DAOs, treasuries, fund managers and developers who need SDKs and permissions. Beginners who want a simple buy-and-hold product, or anyone unwilling to accept beta software risk, may prefer something more established.

Symmetry FAQs

What is Symmetry?

Symmetry is an asset management protocol on Solana. It lets users, DAOs and bots create tokenized vaults, called baskets, that hold up to 100 assets and are represented by a single token.

How does Symmetry rebalance baskets?

It uses Dutch auctions for rebalancing, with oracle price snapshots and confidence bands to set the terms. Users can tune per-trade and global slippage. The homepage says this reduces slippage compared with fixed-fee rebalancing.

What is an intent on Symmetry?

An intent is a desired outcome plus constraints and a bounty. Permissionless keepers compete to execute it once the conditions are met, for example selling 10% of SOL if the price passes a set level.

What are Symmetry's fees?

not public reviewed. The homepage says building is free and that protocol fees are dynamic, and it offers a custom Enterprise plan. Exact percentages are not published on the page we reviewed.

Is Symmetry V3 live?

The homepage says V3 mainnet is live in beta. Beta software can change and carry more risk, so start with small amounts.

Does Symmetry have a token?

DefiLlama lists no token for Symmetry, and the homepage does not mention one.

Has Symmetry been audited?

DefiLlama lists two audits, but the project does not name the auditors or scope. Audits reduce risk but do not remove it, so check the documentation for the reports.
