Our verdict on Nfl All Day

6.5/10

NFL All Day suits football fans who want officially licensed highlight collectibles from a known NFT team and are comfortable with a Dapper Wallet. Its main strength is the NFL and NFLPA licensing combined with Dapper Labs' experience from NBA Top Shot. The main caveat is commercial: a 2023 report said the collection badly missed revenue targets, and fees are not published in the sources. Treat it as fan entertainment with uncertain resale value, not as an investment.

What is Nfl All Day?

NFL All Day is a digital collectibles platform developed by the National Football League and Dapper Labs. It lets fans purchase, trade and own officially licensed video highlights of NFL plays, known as Moments.

The NFL, the NFL Players Association and Dapper Labs launched it worldwide in August 2022. Dapper Labs is the company behind NBA Top Shot and the Flow blockchain, and NFL All Day runs on Flow through the Dapper Wallet.

The commercial picture is mixed. A May 2023 report said the collection fell hundreds of millions of dollars short of revenue targets and failed to attract new consumers. One community writer called it a viable platform for football collectibles that was being punished for earlier mistakes.

How Nfl All Day works

NFL All Day issues Moments, which are video clips of NFL plays recorded as NFTs on the Flow blockchain. An NFT is a unique token that records who owns a digital item. Each Moment shows a play or performance and is tied to the officially licensed NFL content.

Collectors get Moments in two ways. They can buy packs, which are issued by the platform, or they can buy from other collectors on a peer-to-peer marketplace. Access is through a Dapper Wallet.

The model is similar to NBA Top Shot, which Dapper Labs also built. Value comes from fan interest, how scarce a clip is and how much demand there is for the player or moment.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Official licensing from the NFL and the NFL Players Association gives it real team and player content.
  • Built by Dapper Labs, the team behind NBA Top Shot and the Flow blockchain.
  • Collectors can either open packs or trade peer-to-peer.
  • Video highlights are easy for a casual football fan to understand.
  • Pricing is transaction-based, with no subscription.

Watch out for

  • Commercial results have been questioned: a May 2023 report said the collection fell hundreds of millions of dollars short of revenue targets and failed to attract enough new consumers.
  • Pack prices, marketplace fees and royalty terms are not stated in the sources, so total cost of ownership is hard to judge before signing up.
  • Moments are licensed video highlights rather than freely portable assets, so what you can do with them depends on the platform's rules.
  • Resale value depends on fan demand and the NFL calendar, and collectible prices can fall sharply.
  • Access runs through Dapper's wallet and the Flow chain, which ties users to a small ecosystem.

Nfl All Day fees

Fees are not published in the sources reviewed. The sources say collectors are billed through pack purchases and peer-to-peer marketplace trading rather than a subscription.

That means the main costs are pack prices and whatever the marketplace takes on resale. Users should check current pack prices, marketplace fees and any withdrawal or payment charges inside the app before buying.

Is Nfl All Day safe?

NFL All Day is run by Dapper Labs and officially licensed by the NFL and the NFL Players Association, which reduces the risk that it is an impostor project. The sources do not mention audits, so smart-contract assurance is not established here. Users rely on Dapper's wallet and the Flow chain, so account security and platform continuity matter.

The main risk is financial. A May 2023 report said the collection missed revenue targets, and collectible values can drop. Only spend money you can afford to lose, and check that NFT purchases are allowed where you live.

6 steps

How to get started with Nfl All Day

  1. 1

Confirm that NFL All Day is available and legal for you in your country, and that you meet any age requirements.

  2. 2

Create a Dapper Wallet account, which is the access route described for the platform.

  3. 3

Fund the account using a payment method the platform supports.

  4. 4

Browse available packs and the marketplace, and compare prices for the Moments you want.

  5. 5

Buy a pack or purchase a Moment directly from another collector.

  6. 6

Keep a record of your purchase prices and check the marketplace fees before listing anything for sale.

Who Nfl All Day is for

NFL All Day is for football fans who like owning official highlight clips and are comfortable buying NFTs through a managed wallet. It is less suited to people who mainly want a financial return, since resale value depends on collector demand and the sources describe weak commercial results.
