NAVI Lending Review 2026: Sui's Money Market Examined

NAVI Lending is an over-collateralized lending and borrowing protocol on Sui, with roughly $138M in TVL and a published audit record. Its main caveat is that it is single-chain and carries standard lending-protocol risks.

Our verdict on NAVI Lending

7.5/10

NAVI Lending suits users already on Sui who want to earn interest on stablecoins or SUI, or borrow without selling holdings. Its strengths are meaningful TVL, a long operating history since 2023 and a large published audit record. The main caveat is the usual one for lending protocols: smart-contract and liquidation risk, plus concentration on a single chain. Treat the advertised rates and the 'zero incident' claim as marketing figures and verify them in the live app and the audit reports.

What is NAVI Lending?

NAVI Lending is a lending and borrowing protocol on the Sui blockchain, built on the Move language. Users can deposit assets such as SUI, USDC, USDT, wETH and wBTC to earn interest, or borrow against collateral without selling it. DefiLlama lists it under Lending with about $138.3M in TVL and a listing date of August 2023.

The homepage describes it as 'Banking-Grade Finance, Fully Onchain' and claims 1M+ users and $30B+ in loans processed. It also reports $19M+ in cumulative interest paid to depositors. These are the project's own figures, and they are not independently verified.

Beyond the core markets, NAVI offers isolated pools and flash loans. NAVI Prime targets institutional allocators with curated vaults and isolated markets. The protocol has its own token, NAVX. DefiLlama also notes that crosschain lending is planned.

How NAVI Lending works

NAVI is a money market. Depositors supply assets to shared liquidity pools and earn interest. Borrowers lock collateral and take out loans from those pools. Because loans are over-collateralized, the collateral is worth more than the debt.

Interest is paid by borrowers. The homepage says depositor interest comes from active, over-collateralized loans with real borrowing demand. Rates change with how much of a pool is borrowed. If a borrower's collateral value falls too far, the position can be liquidated to repay the debt.

NAVI is built on Move and runs on Sui. It offers isolated pools, where risk is separated by market, and flash loans. NAVI Prime adds curated vaults and isolated markets for larger allocators.

7 features

Key features

01

Over-collateralized lending

Deposit assets such as SUI, USDC, USDT, wETH and wBTC to earn interest, or borrow against collateral without selling it. Loans are over-collateralized.

02

Isolated pools and markets

DefiLlama lists isolated pools, which contain risk within a single market. The homepage also says borrowing comes with 'isolated risk'.

03

Flash loans

The protocol supports flash loans, which are uncollateralized loans that must be borrowed and repaid within a single transaction. They are mainly used by developers and advanced traders.

04

NAVI Prime vaults

NAVI Prime is aimed at allocators, with isolated markets, curated vaults and access through institutional custodians, according to the homepage.

05

Open-source contracts

The homepage says contracts are 100% open-source and that audit reports are published in full on GitHub.

06

Bug bounty and monitoring

The homepage cites a bug bounty pool of $500K+ and 24/7 on-chain risk monitoring with automated safeguards.

07

Flexible deposits and high LTV

The homepage says users can deposit and withdraw anytime, and shows a maximum LTV of 90% on some markets.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Roughly $138M in TVL on Sui, according to DefiLlama
  • Live since 2023, with a track record across market cycles per the homepage
  • Homepage reports 13 audits from named firms, with reports published on GitHub
  • Open-source contracts and a $500K+ bug bounty pool
  • Isolated pools and markets contain risk within a single market
  • Institutional product (NAVI Prime) with curated vaults alongside the retail markets

Watch out for

  • Concentrated on a single chain (Sui), so users depend on that network's health and liquidity
  • Headline figures such as users, loans issued and 'zero incident' are self-reported on the homepage and not independently verified
  • Overcollateralized loans can be liquidated if collateral prices fall, and a maximum LTV of 90% leaves little buffer on some markets
  • Advertised APYs and APRs are variable and shown as 'up to' or 'from' figures, so actual rates will differ
  • Crosschain lending is described as 'soon to come' in the DefiLlama description, so it should not be assumed to be live
  • TVL dipped 4.2% over seven days in the DefiLlama data, a reminder that deposits can move quickly

NAVI Lending fees

NAVI does not publish a simple fee schedule. Costs come mainly through variable borrow interest and the supply rates depositors receive, which depend on market utilization.

The homepage shows example rates: deposits up to 8.42% APY (USDC 8.42%, SUI 7.32%, USDT 6.87%) and borrow rates from -0.42% APR (USDC 4.32%, SUI 1.45%, USDT 2.34%). A negative borrow rate usually reflects incentive rewards. Users also pay Sui network gas on each transaction. Check the live app and documentation for current rates and any protocol fees.

Is NAVI Lending safe?

NAVI's homepage lists 13 security audits from Asymptotic, MoveBit, Veridise, SALUS and OtterSec, says reports are published on GitHub, and cites open-source contracts, a $500K+ bug bounty and 24/7 risk monitoring. DefiLlama lists 2 audits. It also claims 'zero incident' since 2023. These are the project's own statements, and public sources include no independent incident review.

Users keep exposure to smart-contract bugs, oracle issues and liquidation risk on borrowed positions. Deposits are not insured. NAVI is non-custodial in the usual DeFi sense, but funds sit in protocol contracts. The project does not describe any regulatory status. Only deposit what you can afford to lose and check local rules on DeFi use.

7 steps

How to get started with NAVI Lending

  1. 1

Read the NAVI documentation and security page, and review the published audit reports.

  2. 2

Set up a Sui-compatible wallet and fund it with SUI for gas fees.

  3. 3

Open the NAVI app from the official site and connect your wallet.

  4. 4

Choose a market, such as USDC, SUI or USDT, and check the current supply or borrow rate.

  5. 5

Deposit assets to earn interest, or deposit collateral and borrow against it.

  6. 6

If you borrow, keep your loan-to-value well below the maximum and watch the liquidation threshold.

  7. 7

Start with a small amount and monitor positions regularly.

Who NAVI Lending is for

NAVI is for Sui users comfortable with DeFi who want to earn on idle assets or borrow against them. Its Prime product also targets institutions and allocators seeking curated vaults. Beginners should learn about liquidation and start with small amounts.
