Our verdict on Kairo

5.8/10

Kairo suits experienced DeFi users who want swaps, perps, prediction markets and on-chain funds on the Arc network, all from a self-custody wallet. Its strengths are the breadth of products and unusually clear disclosure of fees, terms and risks. The main caveat is trust: the project says its extension and financing product are not independently audited and that the interface is not licensed by any regulator. Treat it as an early-stage platform and size positions accordingly.

What is Kairo?

Kairo describes itself as the financial layer of the Arc network. From one interface you can swap tokens, trade perps, take part in prediction markets, provide liquidity, lend, join or create on-chain funds, launch tokens and send USDC payments. Every product runs from your own wallet.

The platform also includes a Chrome extension called X Trader, a Bitcoin instalment product called KAIRO Finance, and an optional AI agent built on the Circle Agent Stack. A native token, $KAIRO, is used across the ecosystem, though the project says it confers no equity and no promised value.

The interface is operated by Proodos Group BV. The site is open about its limits: it says it is not licensed or approved by any regulator, and that the X Trader extension and KAIRO Finance are not independently audited. KAIRO Finance deposits and new financing are currently closed.

How Kairo works

Kairo is an interface and set of smart contracts on the Arc network. You connect your own wallet, choose a product, and sign each transaction yourself. The project says it never holds funds or keys, so trades settle directly from your wallet.

The swap quotes from live pool pricing and charges a flat 0.25% fee that appears before signing. Perps let you trade with leverage, which means positions can be liquidated if the market moves against you. Prediction markets price outcomes as market-implied probabilities.

KAIRO Finance works like a Bitcoin instalment plan. You pay a deposit of at least 40% in USDC, USDC lenders fund the rest, and the BTC stays locked in a vault. Rules run in smart contracts, with a Chainlink BTC/USD price feed, liquidation at 75% LTV, and liquidation proceeds sold into USDC on Arc. Once every dollar is repaid, the BTC is released.

7 features

Key features

01

Multichain swap

Swap USDC for KAIRO and other tokens on Arc and across Base, Arbitrum, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain and more, reportedly 15 chains in total. Quotes come from live pools.

02

X Trader extension

A Chrome extension recognises token contract addresses in X posts and bios and opens a side panel with price, liquidity, holders and risk signals. Trades are signed in the extension's wallet.

03

Bitcoin financing

Pay a deposit in USDC, borrow the rest from USDC lenders, and keep your BTC locked in a vault until repaid. Rates are fixed for the term and early payoff has no fee.

04

On-chain funds

Anyone can launch a basket of tokens on Arc and let others invest with USDC. Every fund holds 5% KAIRO.

05

Perps, predictions, pools

The navigation lists perpetuals, prediction markets with market creation, pools, lending and a token creation tool.

06

AI agent wallet

KAIRO Agent is powered by the Circle Agent Stack. The agent wallet is optional and delegated, so the AI never has unrestricted access to funds.

07

Developer tools

Swap and perps widgets and APIs, x402 agent payments, docs and open-source links are listed for developers.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Non-custodial design: the project says it never holds user keys or funds.
  • Flat, disclosed 0.25% swap fee shown before signing.
  • Wide product range in one place, including swaps, perps, prediction markets, lending, funds and payments.
  • KAIRO Finance publishes fixed rates, LTV, liquidation and late-payment terms openly.
  • Clear risk language on the $KAIRO token, leverage and smart-contract risk.
  • Optional, delegated agent wallet limits what the AI can access.

Watch out for

  • Not independently audited, according to the project's own notices on the X Trader extension and KAIRO Finance.
  • The interface is operated by Proodos Group BV and states it is not licensed, registered or approved by any regulator.
  • KAIRO Finance deposits and new financing are currently closed.
  • The X Trader extension is sideloaded in developer mode because its Chrome Web Store listing is pending review.
  • Leveraged perps can be liquidated, new Arc tokens can be illiquid, and the $KAIRO token carries no promised value.
  • Team, audit reports and token supply details are not published on the homepage.

Kairo fees

The swap charges a flat 0.25% KAIRO fee on every chain, displayed before you sign. The X Trader extension adds no extra fee on top of that. Network gas fees from your wallet apply as usual.

KAIRO Finance publishes fixed borrower rates: 9.99% for 6 months, 11.99% for 12, 13.99% for 24 and 14.99% for 36. Late payments add penalties of 2.00% after the due date, 4.00% after 72 hours and 5.00% at 168 hours, when the position is permanently in default. Early payoff carries no fee. Fees for perps, pools and prediction markets are on the project's fees page and are not stated on the homepage.

Is Kairo safe?

The project describes itself as non-custodial: you sign every transaction and the extension keeps your recovery phrase encrypted on your device. Even so, every product executes through smart contracts, so bugs, external venues and network issues can cause losses. The project says plainly that the X Trader extension and KAIRO Finance are not independently audited. It does not publish audit reports on its homepage.

Regulatory status is also stated directly: the interface is operated by Proodos Group BV and is not licensed, registered or approved by any regulator. Users are responsible for checking legality in their own jurisdiction, and the site lists geographic restrictions and prohibited markets. Prediction markets are for adults only (18+), and the site links a responsible trading page. Only risk money you can afford to lose.

Who Kairo is for

Kairo is for crypto users already comfortable with self-custody wallets, leverage and early-stage protocols who want to trade or earn on Arc. It is not suited to beginners, to anyone who needs audited or regulated products, or to people who cannot lawfully use such platforms where they live.
