Our verdict on Gamma Strategies
6.5/10Gamma suits liquidity providers who want automated range management on concentrated liquidity AMMs, and traders curious about onchain limit orders on Uniswap V4. Its main strength is a broad product set with non-custodial LP vaults and detailed docs. The main caveat is that fees, supported chains and audit details are not on the introduction page, and the docs look a year old. Impermanent loss and smart-contract risk remain, so read the audits and fee terms first.

What is Gamma Strategies?
Gamma Strategies, usually called Gamma, describes itself as a protocol for active liquidity management and trading on decentralized exchanges. It is accessed through a web application, and its docs are hosted on GitBook.
The protocol has three core products. The Limit Order Hook is a decentralized limit order book built only on Uniswap V4. LP Vaults are non-custodial, automated rebalancing vaults on concentrated liquidity AMMs. Perpetual Vaults are trading vaults on Hyperliquid.
Gamma has its own token, GAMMA, with documentation on tokenomics and governance. Third-party price pages show a very small market cap and low trading volume. The community is mainly on Discord, Twitter and Medium, and the code is on GitHub.
How Gamma Strategies works
On concentrated liquidity exchanges such as Uniswap V3 and V4, liquidity providers choose a price range for their capital. Fees are earned only while the market price stays inside that range, so positions need frequent rebalancing. Gamma's LP vaults automate this. Users deposit assets into a non-custodial vault, and the vault's strategy adjusts the range as the market moves.
The Limit Order Hook uses a different idea. On Uniswap V4, a limit order is placed as liquidity in a single tick. When a swap pushes the price across that tick, a hook executes the order automatically, so the order works like a limit order on a centralized exchange but runs onchain.
Perpetual vaults are built on Hyperliquid. The docs say their strategies rely on financial signals, momentum trading and sentiment analysis, so depositors pool funds behind an automated trading approach.

Key features
01
Limit Order Hook
A decentralized limit order book built only on Uniswap V4. Orders are single-tick liquidity positions executed automatically by swap hooks.
02
Automated LP Vaults
Non-custodial, automated rebalancing vaults for concentrated liquidity positions. They support Uniswap V4, Uniswap V3, Algebra Integral and other AMMs.
03
Perpetual Vaults
Trading vaults on Hyperliquid that follow strategies based on financial signals, momentum trading and sentiment analysis.
04
Scale Orders
The limit order docs cover placing scale orders, which spread orders across several price points, plus cancelling and claiming orders.
05
Developer Tooling
A Python SDK for the limit order product, and a developer portal section for LP vaults, are listed in the docs.
06
Incentives and Governance
The docs include an incentives section for LP vaults, alongside tokenomics and governance pages for the GAMMA token.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Offers three distinct products: LP vaults, limit orders and perp vaults.
- LP vaults are described as non-custodial and automated, reducing manual range management.
- Supports several concentrated liquidity AMMs, including Uniswap V4, Uniswap V3 and Algebra Integral.
- The docs include a Python SDK, a developer portal, a glossary, a FAQ and troubleshooting guides.
- Audits, contracts, tokenomics and governance each have a dedicated documentation section.
Watch out for
- Documentation pages show a last-updated date of about a year ago, so some details may be stale.
- Concentrated liquidity positions carry impermanent loss, and automated rebalancing does not remove that risk.
- The GAMMA token trades at very low volume and a small market cap, according to third-party price pages.
- Fees, supported chains and audit details are not set out on the introduction page, so users must check the other doc sections.
- Perpetual vaults add trading-strategy risk on top of smart-contract risk, and the strategy performance is not stated publicly.
- The Limit Order Hook works only on Uniswap V4, which limits where it can be used.
Gamma Strategies fees
Fee levels are not stated on the documentation introduction page. The docs have separate sections for LP vaults, perp vaults and the limit order hook, and any management, performance or swap fees would be listed there or shown in the web app before a deposit.
Users also pay network gas on the chain they use, and liquidity providers earn or pay the underlying AMM pool fees. Check the exact fee terms for each vault before depositing.
Is Gamma Strategies safe?
The docs have an Audits section and a Contracts section, but the introduction page does not name auditors or dates. Readers should review those pages directly. LP vaults are described as non-custodial, but users still rely on smart contracts and on the strategy logic that moves their liquidity.
Concentrated liquidity carries impermanent loss, and perp vaults on Hyperliquid add trading risk. The documentation was last updated about a year before this snapshot, so confirm that the products you plan to use are still supported. The project does not mention any hacks or shutdowns. This is not financial advice.

How to get started with Gamma Strategies
- 1
Read the docs introduction and decide which product fits: LP vaults, limit orders or perp vaults.
- 2
Open the Gamma web app from the official documentation site and connect a compatible wallet.
- 3
Check the network, the target pool or vault, its strategy and its fees before depositing.
- 4
Read the Audits and FAQ sections in the docs to understand the risks.
- 5
Start with a small amount, deposit into a vault or place a limit order, and monitor the position.
- 6
Use the cancel and claim functions, or withdraw from the vault, when you want to exit.
Who Gamma Strategies is for
Gamma is for DeFi users who already provide liquidity on concentrated liquidity AMMs and want vaults to handle rebalancing. It also suits traders who want limit orders on Uniswap V4, and developers who want to use the Python SDK. Complete beginners should learn impermanent loss and wallet safety first.
Gamma Strategies FAQs
What is Gamma Strategies?
Gamma is a protocol for active liquidity management and trading on decentralized exchanges. Its docs list three core products: a limit order hook on Uniswap V4, automated LP vaults on concentrated liquidity AMMs, and perpetual trading vaults on Hyperliquid.
How do Gamma LP vaults work?
The docs describe the LP vaults as non-custodial and automated. They rebalance liquidity positions on concentrated liquidity AMMs such as Uniswap V4, Uniswap V3 and Algebra Integral, so users do not have to adjust price ranges manually.
What is the Gamma Limit Order Hook?
A limit order is placed as a single-tick liquidity position on Uniswap V4. When swaps move the price through that tick, a swap hook executes the order automatically. The docs also cover scale orders, cancelling and claiming orders.
What are Gamma perp vaults?
The docs describe them as perpetual trading vaults built on Hyperliquid. Their strategies are based on financial signals, momentum trading and sentiment analysis. Returns are not guaranteed and the introduction page does not publish performance figures.
Does Gamma have a token?
GAMMA is the protocol's token, and the docs have sections on tokenomics and governance. One search result says part of the supply sits on team-controlled multisigs for expenses such as development, bounties and liquidity. Coinbase states that GAMMA is not tradable on its exchange.
Is Gamma audited?
The docs have an Audits section under Information, but the introduction page does not list audit firms or dates. Readers should open that section and read the reports before depositing. Any DeFi vault still carries smart-contract risk.
