Our verdict on Arrakis Modular
7.5/10Arrakis Modular suits token issuers, RWA projects and DeFi teams that want actively managed, self-custodial liquidity on major DEXs without running it in-house. Its main strength is the modular Meta Vault design and a long history in concentrated liquidity. The main caveat is that fees, strategy details and audit specifics are not, and retail users should expect impermanent loss and smart-contract risk. Read the docs and Risks page before depositing.

What is Arrakis Modular?
Arrakis Modular is the current generation of the Arrakis liquidity management framework, listed on DefiLlama in the Liquidity Manager category since October 2024. It runs on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Plasma, Robinhood Chain and BNB Chain, with roughly 55.2 million USD in TVL.
Arrakis started in early 2021, shortly after Uniswap V3 launched, and was first known for simplifying concentrated liquidity positions. The Modular version is meant to overcome limits of V1 and V2 by introducing a universal Meta Vault standard.
The homepage now positions Arrakis as onchain market making for token issuers, claiming 100+ issuers across Uniswap V4, Aerodrome, PancakeSwap, Velodrome and Solana. It also mentions market making on Hyperliquid and markets for RWAs, commodities and equities. Case study names include Morpho, Maple and Bitpanda.
How Arrakis Modular works
Providing liquidity on a decentralised exchange means depositing two tokens into a pool so others can trade against them. With concentrated liquidity, such as Uniswap V3 and V4, that capital is placed in a chosen price range, which can earn more fees but needs active adjustment as prices move.
Arrakis Modular manages that adjustment through Meta Vaults, a standard wrapper that holds the liquidity. Different modules plug into the same Meta Vault to run different strategies, which is how Arrakis says it can support entirely different two-sided LP vault integrations without rebuilding the base infrastructure.
For token issuers, the homepage describes this as hands-off, actively managed market making where the issuer keeps self-custody of the liquidity. Details of strategy parameters and fee splits are not public and would be found in the documentation.

Pros and cons
What we like
- Modular Meta Vault design lets new vault types reuse the same infrastructure
- Non-custodial, self-custodial positioning keeps issuers in control of their liquidity
- Roughly 55.2 million USD in TVL across six chains
- Broad venue coverage including Uniswap V4, Aerodrome, PancakeSwap and Velodrome
- Track record dating from early 2021, with two audits listed on DefiLlama
- Public research and documentation help users understand the liquidity design
Watch out for
- Aimed at token issuers and institutions, so retail users have fewer self-serve options
- Pricing and fee terms are not published
- Concentrated-liquidity management carries impermanent loss and price-range risk
- Smart-contract risk applies to the Meta Vault framework, with only two audits listed on DefiLlama
- TVL slipped 3.4% over the past seven days, and there is no native token to give governance or incentive exposure
- Homepage is mostly marketing copy, so performance claims such as outperforming self-managed pools are not independently verified here
Arrakis Modular fees
Fees are not published. DefiLlama lists no fee data for Arrakis Modular, and the homepage directs issuers to contact the team rather than showing a price list.
Anyone considering a vault should check the Arrakis app and documentation for management or performance fees, and should factor in gas costs and any DEX trading fees on the underlying pools.
Is Arrakis Modular safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits for Arrakis Modular, but the project does not say who performed them or what they found. Liquidity sits in smart contracts, so bugs, upgrade or admin-key risks and oracle or venue failures remain possible. No incidents are mentioned publicly.
Arrakis describes its approach as non-custodial and links to Terms, Disclaimer and Risks pages. Liquidity providers should also expect impermanent loss and price-range risk. Regulatory status is not stated publicly.
