Our verdict on Decibel

6.3/10

Decibel suits experienced derivatives traders who want an onchain, wallet-based perps venue on Aptos and are comfortable with a new platform. Its main strength is a full trading toolkit: multiple order types, cross and isolated margin, and visible fees. The main caveat is risk. No audits are listed, the track record is short, and 40x leverage can liquidate positions fast. Beginners should avoid it or use very small sizes.

What is Decibel?

Decibel is an onchain trading engine on Aptos for spot, perpetual futures and yield. DefiLlama files it under Derivatives and shows about $29 million in TVL, down 0.9% over seven days. It was listed on 2026-02-26.

The app opens on a BTC/USD market with an order book, charts, and a panel for margin, leverage and order types. Extra sections cover a leaderboard, portfolio, vaults, points, rewards, affiliates, an API and docs.

A snapshot of the BTC market showed about $15.3 million in 24h volume and roughly $627,000 in open interest. These numbers move daily and come from a single moment. No token or audits are listed on DefiLlama.

How Decibel works

Decibel is an onchain trading venue. You connect a wallet, deposit USDC as collateral and trade against an order book. Positions, balances, funding and order history are tracked in the app.

In perpetual futures, you take a long or short position on an asset's price without owning it and without an expiry date. Funding payments flow between longs and shorts to keep the perp price near the oracle price. If your margin falls too low, the position is liquidated.

The app offers cross margin, where all positions share collateral, and isolated margin, where each position has its own. The platform also lists vaults for yield and a points and rewards system, though public sources give no mechanics for those.

6 features

Key features

01

Perpetual futures trading

The BTC/USD market runs with an order book, a trade feed and a price chart. Mark price, oracle price, open interest and funding are displayed.

02

Multiple order types

Market, limit, TWAP, stop market and stop limit orders are available. TWAP executes evenly over time to target a time-weighted average price.

03

Cross and isolated margin

Traders can pick cross margin, which shares collateral across positions, or isolated margin, which limits risk to one position.

04

TP/SL and reduce-only

Orders can carry take profit and stop loss levels triggered by mark price, plus a reduce-only option.

05

Vaults for yield

The interface includes Vaults for yield opportunities alongside trading, matching the stated spot, perps and yield scope.

06

Incentives and API access

The app has Leaderboard, Points, Rewards and Affiliates pages, and an API and docs section for developers.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Wide set of order types including TWAP, stop market and stop limit
  • Choice between cross and isolated margin
  • Fees shown in the order panel before you submit
  • Wallet-based trading on Aptos without a centralized account
  • Public docs, an API and a points programme for active users

Watch out for

  • No audits are listed on DefiLlama, so smart-contract risk is hard to judge from public data
  • Listed only since February 2026, so the track record is short
  • Leverage up to 40x can wipe out a position quickly, and cross-margin shares losses across positions
  • Homepage data shows open interest well below daily volume on the BTC market, which suggests a thin market
  • No native token is listed, so the Points and Rewards programmes have no published token terms
  • Team, custody and regulatory details are not given publicly

Decibel fees

The BTC/USD order panel shows fees of 0.0450% and 0.0150%. The page text does not label them, but they likely correspond to taker and maker rates. Treat that as an assumption until you check the fee schedule in the app or docs.

Other costs include funding payments, which showed 0.0012% per interval on BTC (10.51% annualized) at the time of the snapshot, slippage (estimated, with a maximum of 8% shown) and Aptos network costs. Funding rates change constantly.

Is Decibel safe?

DefiLlama lists no audits for Decibel, and the project does not describe custody design, the team or an insurance fund. Smart-contract and oracle risk therefore cannot be judged from the data. The venue is new, listed since February 2026.

Regulatory status is not stated publicly. The site has Terms of Service and a Privacy Policy, so read them and confirm that derivatives trading is permitted where you live. Leveraged products can lose your whole margin quickly. Only trade with money you can afford to lose, and keep leverage low.

6 steps

How to get started with Decibel

  1. 1

Check that using a decentralized derivatives platform is allowed where you live and read the Terms of Service.

  2. 2

Set up an Aptos-compatible wallet and keep your seed phrase offline.

  3. 3

Open the Decibel app and connect your wallet.

  4. 4

Deposit USDC as collateral into your trading account.

  5. 5

Choose a market, a margin mode and a low leverage setting, and review the estimated liquidation price and fees before submitting.

  6. 6

Start with a small order, then use stop loss and reduce-only features to manage risk.

Who Decibel is for

Decibel is for active crypto traders who already understand perpetual futures, funding rates and liquidation. It also fits Aptos users looking for an onchain venue and those who like points and rewards programmes. It is not suited to people new to leverage.
