ActiveArkadiko Review 2026: STX-Backed USDA Vaults on Stacks
Arkadiko is a CDP-style protocol on Stacks where users lock STX to mint the USDA stablecoin. Its TVL is now small, so treat it as a niche, higher-risk venue.

Our verdict on Arkadiko
5.8/10Arkadiko suits users who already hold STX and want to borrow a dollar stablecoin against it without selling, or who want to explore Stacks DeFi. Its strength is a complete, non-custodial toolkit of vaults, swap, staking and a liquidation pool. The main caveat is scale and assurance: TVL is only around $259,000, DefiLlama lists no audits, and the vault design carries liquidation risk. Size positions as you would for a small, higher-risk protocol and read the audit documents first.

What is Arkadiko?
Arkadiko is a decentralized, non-custodial protocol on Stacks, the network that settles to Bitcoin. Users lock STX as collateral and mint USDA, a dollar-pegged stablecoin. The project describes its aim as bringing DeFi to Bitcoin.
The product suite includes vaults, staking, a swap, a USDA liquidation pool, an oracle and an analytics page. DIKO is the governance and utility token. DefiLlama has tracked the protocol since December 2021 under the CDP category.
Current scale is modest. DefiLlama shows about $259,000 in TVL, up 10.9% over seven days, and lists no audits. That makes it a small, niche protocol rather than a major stablecoin venue.
How Arkadiko works
Arkadiko is a collateralized debt position (CDP) protocol. A user deposits STX into a vault and mints USDA against it. Because the vault is over-collateralized, the STX locked is worth more than the USDA borrowed. The user can later repay the USDA to unlock the collateral.
If the STX price falls and a vault becomes undercollateralized, it can be liquidated. The homepage describes a USDA Liquidation Pool that covers these positions, with participants earning rewards. An oracle supplies the price data that vaults and liquidations use.
Beyond minting, the protocol has a swap for STX, DIKO and USDA, plus staking where users earn DIKO rewards. DIKO holders can also vote on protocol decisions.
8 features
Key features
01
STX-backed vaults
Users lock STX as collateral to mint USDA without selling their holdings. Positions are over-collateralized and can be repaid or adjusted.
02
USDA stablecoin
USDA is a dollar-pegged stablecoin minted from collateral. It is used in other Stacks DeFi apps such as Zest Protocol, Bitflow and ALEX, according to the homepage.
03
Staking rewards
Users can stake liquidity provider tokens, DIKO and USDA to earn DIKO rewards.
04
Swap and liquidity pools
A swap feature lets users trade assets such as DIKO, STX and USDA, or provide liquidity to earn fees.
05
USDA Liquidation Pool
Users can supply liquidity to a pool that covers undercollateralized positions and earn rewards in return.
06
Price oracle
A built-in oracle supplies price data for STX and USDA, which vaults and liquidations rely on.
07
DIKO governance
DIKO holders can vote on protocol decisions and upgrades.
08
Public analytics
An analytics page shows TVL across vaults and swap pools, user balances and other protocol metrics.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Non-custodial design: users keep control of collateral through vaults rather than a company
- Lets STX holders borrow USDA without selling their STX
- Broad product set in one app: vaults, swap, staking and a liquidation pool
- Open governance via DIKO voting, with an open-source codebase and bug bounty listed
- Public analytics page and documentation, including a how-to guide on earning yield
Watch out for
- TVL is very small at about $259,000 per DefiLlama, which suggests thin liquidity and limited usage
- DefiLlama lists no audits, and the homepage only shows a 'Security Audits' heading without naming auditors or dates
- Collateral is mainly STX, so USDA's backing depends on one volatile asset
- The homepage shows $0 for TVL, circulating USDA and holders, so live stats could not be confirmed from the page text
- Smart-contract, oracle and liquidation risks apply, and USDA's peg is not guaranteed
- Activity and development momentum are not documented publicly; the most recent dated resource is from March 2024
Arkadiko fees
The project does not publish a fee schedule. The homepage says liquidity providers earn swap fees, but does not give the rate. Vault stability fees, liquidation penalties and swap fees would be shown in the app and documentation.
On Stacks, users also pay network transaction fees in STX for each action. Check the docs and the app before opening a vault or providing liquidity.
Is Arkadiko safe?
DefiLlama lists zero audits for Arkadiko. The homepage has a Security Audits section and a bug bounty link, but the project does not say who audited the contracts or when. Review those materials directly before depositing.
Main risks are smart-contract bugs, oracle errors, STX price drops causing liquidation, and USDA losing its peg. The protocol is non-custodial, so there is no company to recover funds if something goes wrong. Public sources mention no hacks or incidents. Check legal and tax rules in your own country.
6 steps
How to get started with Arkadiko
- 1
Read the documentation, FAQ and any audit material first, and confirm the app address from the official website.
- 2
Set up a Stacks-compatible wallet and fund it with STX.
- 3
Launch the app from the official site and connect the wallet, accepting the terms of service.
- 4
Review the vault collateral ratio, fees and liquidation terms before minting USDA.
- 5
Start with a small amount, and keep a safe buffer above the liquidation threshold.
- 6
Optionally stake USDA, DIKO or LP tokens, or add liquidity, after checking the rewards and risks.
Who Arkadiko is for
Arkadiko fits STX holders comfortable with CDP mechanics who want USDA liquidity on Stacks, and DeFi users exploring Bitcoin-adjacent ecosystems. It is not suited to beginners who cannot monitor collateral ratios, or anyone needing deep liquidity and a long audit trail.
