AnyHedge Review 2026: Non-Custodial Leverage on Bitcoin Cash

Our verdict on AnyHedge

6.4/10

AnyHedge suits Bitcoin Cash users and developers who want on-chain leveraged longs or a way to hedge fiat value without handing funds to a custodian. Its main strength is the fully funded, non-custodial contract design. The main caveat is that leverage still brings liquidation, slippage and oracle risk, and the fee schedule is not published publicly. The ecosystem is also small and limited to one chain.

What is AnyHedge?

AnyHedge is a decentralized derivatives protocol on Bitcoin Cash, built by General Protocols. It lets users take leveraged long positions or hedge the fiat value of their BCH. The homepage describes it as permissionless, non-custodial and on-chain.

DefiLlama tracks it in the Derivatives category on the Bitcoin Cash chain, with about 1.85 million USD in TVL and a listing date of March 2023. It has no token. The best-known front end is BCH Bull, which offers BCH long positions with up to 5x leverage.

AnyHedge is also pitched at developers and businesses. The site suggests adding on-chain futures to a DEX, adding price stabilization to a merchant app, or building a simple app with higher leverage. The footer shows a 2025 copyright, and public reporting shows recent third-party mentions, so the project appears to still be around.

How AnyHedge works

AnyHedge uses smart contracts on Bitcoin Cash. A contract pairs a party who wants leveraged exposure with a party who wants to hedge, and both sides' funds are locked in the contract when it is created. DefiLlama says this means no counterparty risk.

A price oracle reports the price of an external asset, such as USD, against BCH. At settlement, or if the position hits its liquidation threshold, the contract pays out according to that price. That is why oracle accuracy and early liquidation matter.

AnyHedge is built on Bitcoin Cash's UTXO model, which differs from the account-based model used by Ethereum-style chains. The project says this brings performance and scaling benefits but needs a different approach to contract design.

7 features

Key features

01

Leveraged longs and hedging

Users can open leveraged long positions or hedge the fiat value of BCH holdings using on-chain contracts.

02

Non-custodial contracts

The protocol is described as permissionless and non-custodial, so users do not hand funds to a company or exchange.

03

Fully funded on creation

Contracts are fully funded when created, which the project says removes counterparty risk.

04

BCH Bull front end

BCH Bull, built on AnyHedge, offers BCH long positions with up to 5x leverage against a range of assets.

05

Developer library

A JavaScript library, documentation and a working example let developers add AnyHedge contracts to their own apps.

06

Published whitepaper and terms

The homepage links a whitepaper, settlement terms and a third-party audit document for review.

07

Zero-confirmation trading

Because it is built on Bitcoin Cash, the homepage says traders do not need to wait for confirmations to start trading.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Non-custodial and permissionless, so users keep control of funds
  • Contracts are fully funded at creation, which the project says removes counterparty risk
  • Offers both leveraged longs and fiat-value hedging on BCH
  • Whitepaper, settlement terms and a third-party audit document are linked from the homepage
  • JavaScript library and documentation help developers integrate it
  • Zero-confirmation trading on Bitcoin Cash makes opening positions quick

Watch out for

  • Early liquidation, slippage and oracle risks are acknowledged in the DefiLlama description
  • Leverage on the main BCH Bull app is capped at 5x, which limits flexibility for advanced traders
  • Runs only on Bitcoin Cash, so liquidity and tooling are narrower than on larger smart-contract chains
  • The UTXO contract model requires a mental shift, which raises the barrier for developers
  • DefiLlama lists no audits, and the homepage links a third-party audit without naming the auditor or date
  • A video in public reporting describes the protocol as being in alpha, so its maturity is unclear

AnyHedge fees

AnyHedge's fee schedule is not stated publicly. The homepage says transactions are near-instant and always low fee, but it gives no figures for trading, settlement or service fees.

Users should check the settlement terms and the interface they use, such as BCH Bull, for the costs before opening a position. Network fees are paid in BCH.

Is AnyHedge safe?

AnyHedge is non-custodial, and contracts are fully funded when created. DefiLlama's description names the remaining risks as early liquidation, slippage and oracle risk. Leveraged positions can be liquidated and lose most or all of the deposited value.

DefiLlama lists no audits, but the homepage links a third-party audit. The project does not say who performed it or when. A video listed in public reporting describes the project as being in alpha, though its date is unknown. Public sources show no hack or incident, but they also do not rule one out. Leveraged derivatives are high risk, and this is not financial advice.

6 steps

How to get started with AnyHedge

  1. 1

Read the whitepaper and settlement terms on the official site to understand how contracts settle.

  2. 2

Review the execution overview to see the four-step example of a contract with USD as the external asset.

  3. 3

Set up a Bitcoin Cash wallet and fund it with only an amount you can afford to lose.

  4. 4

Open an AnyHedge-powered app such as BCH Bull and check the leverage, liquidation level and fees shown.

  5. 5

Start with a small position and low leverage to learn how liquidation works.

  6. 6

Developers can install the JavaScript library, read the documentation and follow the working example.

Who AnyHedge is for

AnyHedge is for BCH holders who want leveraged exposure or a hedge against fiat, and for developers or businesses who want to build derivatives into Bitcoin Cash apps. It is not suited to beginners who do not understand liquidation, or to anyone who cannot afford to lose their deposit.
