What Tori trUSD is

Tori trUSD (TRUSD) is a synthetic dollar issued on Ethereum by Tori Finance, a DeFi protocol that moves delta-neutral trading strategies on-chain. It is built to trade close to one US dollar, but it is not a fiat-backed stablecoin in the way USDC or USDT are. Instead, it is collateralized by the protocol's own trading positions.

Delta-neutral means the strategies are designed to hold no directional view on crypto prices. Positions are meant to offset each other so that the value of the collateral stays steady when markets rise or fall. Returns, where there are any, come from the strategies' performance rather than from price appreciation of trUSD itself.

TRUSD should not be confused with TORI, the token of the Teritori project, which is unrelated. At the time of writing, data aggregators classify trUSD under stablecoins, USD stablecoins and synthetic dollars.

What the token is used for

trUSD is the core asset of Tori Finance and serves mainly as a dollar-denominated unit within the protocol. According to the project description, eligible users can redeem it for USDC or USDT, subject to protocol terms. That redemption path is what is meant to anchor its price near $1.

The second use is staking. Holders can stake trUSD to mint strUSD, an income-bearing token. The exchange rate between strUSD and trUSD reflects how the underlying strategies perform, so strUSD is designed to be worth more trUSD over time if the strategies make money. The project states that any returns are variable, performance-based and not guaranteed.

Public reports say Tori Finance introduced trUSD and strUSD as its core products in March 2026, and that strUSD launched in late July 2026 with listings alongside trUSD on Royco and Curve. Beyond that, the project's materials describe various ways to earn with trUSD and strUSD, but the details and terms should be read directly from the protocol before relying on them.

Supply and tokenomics

As of 2026-11-05, TRUSD had a market cap of about $73.4M, putting it near rank 338 by market cap. Circulating supply and total supply were both about 73.4 million tokens, which means the fully diluted value matches the market cap. No maximum supply is listed.

That structure is typical of a synthetic dollar. Supply is not fixed in advance. It expands and contracts as users mint and redeem against the protocol's collateral, so the circulating figure reflects current demand rather than a preset schedule. There is no known team allocation, vesting schedule or emissions plan in the data available, and trUSD is not described as a governance token.

The price was about $0.9996 on that date, with roughly $2.1M in 24-hour trading volume. Over the recorded history, the highest price was about $1.001 on 2026-07-28 and the lowest about $0.996 on 2026-10-02. That is a narrow range, though the history is short.

Chains and how it is held and traded

trUSD is issued on Ethereum as a standard token, and no other chains are listed in the data available. It is not the native token of any blockchain.

In general terms, it can be held in any Ethereum-compatible wallet and traded on decentralized exchanges. Public listings point to Curve as a main venue, where trUSD sits in liquidity pools, and Royco has also been mentioned in connection with the launch of strUSD. Anyone interacting with these venues pays Ethereum network fees and should check the pool and token contract address carefully, since lookalike tokens are common.

Redemption into USDC or USDT is restricted to eligible users under the protocol's terms, so not every holder can necessarily redeem directly. Those who cannot redeem rely on secondary market liquidity to exit, which makes pool depth relevant to how closely the market price tracks one dollar.

History and notable events

The earliest public reporting in the search data is from March 2026, when Tori Finance outlined trUSD and strUSD as its core products. On 27 July 2026, reports said the protocol launched strUSD and that the token appeared on Royco and Curve alongside trUSD. The recorded all-time high price of about $1.001 came the following day.

The exact launch date of trUSD is not given in the data, and no one-year price change is available. Third-party figures from August 2026 showed a smaller market cap of roughly $56M, and the figure had grown to about $73M by early November, which suggests supply has been increasing.

The project is young by stablecoin standards. It has not yet been through a long stretch of varied market conditions, so its track record is limited. No major incidents or depegs are mentioned in the information available, but readers should check current sources for recent developments.

Risks

A synthetic dollar carries different risks from a fully reserved stablecoin. The main ones are:

  • Strategy risk: Delta-neutral trading can still lose money, for example through funding rate swings, execution problems, exchange failures or sharp market moves that break the hedge.
  • Peg risk: The price depends on collateral quality and on redemption working as intended. If confidence drops or liquidity thins, the market price could drift from $1.
  • Redemption limits: Redemption is open only to eligible users and subject to protocol terms, so some holders may depend on pool liquidity.
  • Smart contract risk: Bugs or exploits in trUSD, strUSD or connected protocols could cause losses.
  • Counterparty and custody risk: Positions may rely on external venues or custodians whose failure could affect collateral.
  • Short history: There is little data on how the system behaves under stress.

Any yield shown on strUSD is variable and not guaranteed. Treat advertised earn rates as estimates. This page is not financial advice.

How to store it safely

Because trUSD is an Ethereum token, it can be stored in any wallet that supports Ethereum. A hardware wallet is a sensible choice for larger amounts, since it keeps the private keys offline. Software wallets are fine for smaller sums if the device is kept secure.

Write down the recovery phrase on paper, keep it offline and never share it. Before sending funds or approving a contract, verify the token contract address from the project's official channels, because imitation tokens are common. Send a small test transaction first for any new transfer.

Be cautious with token approvals. When you use Curve or another dApp, you grant a contract permission to move your tokens, and unlimited approvals can be a risk if the contract is later compromised. Review and revoke approvals you no longer need. Also keep in mind that staking into strUSD or providing liquidity places funds under smart contract control, which adds risk beyond simply holding trUSD in a wallet.

By the numbers

Tori trUSD in numbers

Tori trUSD (TRUSD) is ranked #330 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $74.0M and a price of $0.9991 as of Nov 7, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($74.0M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

The price was up 0.0% over 7 days, up 0.1% over 30 days. It is trading at or near its all-time high of $1.00.

About 74.02M TRUSD are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.

24-hour trading volume was about $943K, or 1.3% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

TRUSD has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

CoinGecko groups TRUSD under Stablecoins.
