What SDL is

SDL is the token associated with stake.link, a liquid staking protocol built for Chainlink's LINK token. Liquid staking lets people stake LINK while receiving a transferable receipt token, which the protocol calls stLINK. SDL is a separate token from stLINK. According to the project's own description, SDL has three roles: sharing in platform fees, voting on governance, and receiving priority access to stake LINK through the protocol. The project is classed in data sources under Ethereum ecosystem and liquid staking. the public information available here do not give a launch date or a consensus model, so this page does not describe either.

What the token is used for

The project describes three functions for SDL. First, it is a fee token: staking SDL is said to return a percentage of fees the platform generates, and that fee is described as scaling with the amount of LINK and rewards in the protocol. Second, it is a governance token: holders vote on platform direction, future fee settings and participant involvement. Third, it gives priority access, meaning SDL stakers are described as the first to deposit LINK at stake.link. These are design claims from the project. Whether and how each works in practice depends on the live contracts and governance decisions, which can change over time, so readers should check the current protocol documentation before relying on any of them.

Supply and market data

As of 2026-11-05, the data shows a total and maximum supply of 100 million SDL, with about 37.8 million in circulation, or roughly 38 percent. At the same date the price was about $0.26, the market capitalization about $9.7 million and the fully diluted valuation about $25.8 million. The 24-hour trading volume was only about $288, which is very thin and means prices can move sharply on small trades and may not reflect a fair exit price. The token ranked 1269th by market capitalization. Its all-time high was about $1.56 on 2025-09-03 and its all-time low about $0.072 on 2023-05-21. Over one year the price fell about 41 percent. These figures change constantly and are shown only as a snapshot.

Chains and where it lives

SDL is issued as a token on Ethereum, and public sources list Ethereum as its only issuing chain. It is not the native token of any blockchain. The stake.link protocol that SDL is tied to is also on Ethereum, and it works with LINK and its liquid receipt token stLINK. Readers should be careful to confirm they are looking at the correct SDL token on Ethereum, because copycat tokens with the same ticker are common. Compare the contract address against the project's official published information before buying or transferring anything, and be aware that moving tokens between networks through bridges adds its own risks.

Risks and storage

SDL carries several risks. Trading volume is extremely low, so a holder may be unable to sell at a price near the quoted value. Governance tokens often concentrate voting power among a few large holders, which could shape fee rules in ways smaller holders do not control. Fee-sharing claims depend on the protocol generating fees and on the design holding up, and both can change. Smart contracts can contain bugs or be exploited, and the protocol's liquid staking adds further exposure to Chainlink's staking mechanism. The token has also lost much of its value since its 2025 peak. Nothing here is investment advice. For storage, use a self-custody wallet that supports Ethereum tokens, keep recovery phrases offline, and never share them. Test with a small amount first.

By the numbers

stake.link in numbers

stake.link (SDL) is ranked #1,267 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $9.45M and a price of $0.2499 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $25.0M, so roughly 38% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 2.3% over 7 days, down 24.5% over 30 days, down 46.6% over the past year. It trades about 84% below its all-time high of $1.56, set on Sep 3, 2025.

About 37.81M SDL are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 100M (38% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $843, or 0.0% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

SDL has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

SDL is linked to stake.link liquid, which we cover in our Staking rankings. See our stake.link liquid page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

SDL FAQs

What is SDL used for?

The project says SDL is used to share in platform fees, to vote on governance decisions, and to get priority access to deposit LINK at stake.link. These are the project's own design claims and may change as the protocol develops.

Is SDL the same as stLINK?

No. SDL is the protocol's governance and fee token, while stLINK is the liquid receipt token people receive when they stake LINK through stake.link. They are separate tokens with different roles.

Which blockchain is SDL on?

Public sources list Ethereum as the only chain SDL is issued on, and it is not a native token of any blockchain. Check the contract address against official project information before interacting with it.

What was the SDL price as of 2026-11-05?

As of 2026-11-05, the data showed a price of about $0.26, a market capitalization of about $9.7 million and a 24-hour volume of only about $288. Prices and volumes change constantly, and the very low volume means the quoted price may be hard to act on.

Is SDL a good investment?

No. This page explains the token and its listed risks but gives no buy or sell advice and makes no price predictions. Readers should do their own research and only use funds they can afford to lose.

When did SDL launch?

Public sources do not include a launch date, so this page does not state one. The project's own published materials are the best place to check.

What is the market cap of stake.link?

As of Nov 6, 2026, stake.link had a market cap of about $9.45M, ranking #1,267 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of SDL?

stake.link's all-time high is $1.56, reached on Sep 3, 2025. Its all-time low is $0.0720 (May 21, 2023). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of SDL?

As of Nov 6, 2026, about 37.81M SDL were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 100M.

Which blockchains is SDL on?

It has token contracts on Ethereum.
