## What is Mitosis (MITO)?
Mitosis is a project focused on making DeFi liquidity positions more programmable and usable across chains. In many DeFi systems, supplying assets to a pool or protocol can leave those assets tied to that position, limiting how they can be used elsewhere. Mitosis aims to represent liquidity positions as components that can be deployed in other strategies. The project describes itself as a Layer 1 network for programmable, cross-chain liquidity, with the goal of reducing fragmented liquidity and making access to strategies less dependent on private arrangements.
MITO is the project’s token. It is associated with the Mitosis ecosystem, but public sources do not establish a complete list of token functions or explain exactly how each function works. In particular, describing Mitosis as a Layer 1 does not by itself mean MITO is already the native gas token of that network. The recorded issuance chain is BNB Chain, and no native-token chain is listed here. Treat claims about network features and token utility as project descriptions, not guarantees of performance or returns.
## What is MITO used for?
Public descriptions of MITO associate it with ecosystem governance, transaction fees and liquidity incentives. These are potential roles in the Mitosis ecosystem, but public sources do not specify which governance decisions holders can vote on, where fees are paid, or how incentives are allocated. They also do not confirm that holding MITO automatically earns a yield. Check the project’s current documentation and the terms of a specific product before relying on any particular utility.
Mitosis’s broader protocol idea is to make liquidity positions programmable, so positions supplied to DeFi strategies may be represented and used as components in further strategies. That is distinct from the MITO token itself: using a protocol feature does not necessarily require holding the token, and token ownership does not necessarily give access to a particular yield opportunity. Returns, where offered, can vary and may involve smart-contract, market and strategy risks. Avoid assuming that any advertised reward is fixed, guaranteed or available in every jurisdiction.
## MITO supply and market figures
MITO has a stated maximum and total supply of 1 billion tokens. About 480.6 million were circulating as of 2026-11-05, or just under half of that maximum. The difference between circulating and total supply means additional tokens are not counted as circulating at that point; the figures alone do not explain when or how those tokens may enter circulation. For details on allocations, vesting or unlock schedules, consult current project disclosures rather than inferring them from the supply totals.
As of 2026-11-05, MITO traded at about $0.0075, with a market capitalization of roughly $3.6 million and fully diluted valuation of about $7.5 million. These are time-sensitive estimates, not fixed measures of value. Market capitalization uses circulating supply, while fully diluted valuation estimates value using the full stated supply at the same token price. Both can change as the price or circulating supply changes. Past price movements do not indicate what MITO will be worth in the future.
## Chains and transfers
Public sources list MITO as issued on BNB Chain and does not list a chain on which it is the native token. This distinction matters: a token issued on a network is different from that network’s native coin, which is typically used for base transaction fees. Although Mitosis describes its project as a Layer 1 network, public information here do not identify a deployed native MITO asset on that network or confirm how users move tokens between chains.
Before sending MITO, verify the exact network and token contract address through official Mitosis channels and check that your wallet or exchange supports deposits and withdrawals on that network. Do not rely on a token name or ticker alone, since unrelated assets can use the same symbol. A transfer to an unsupported network or incorrect address may be difficult or impossible to recover. Cross-chain features can add bridge and smart-contract risks, so confirm the route and fees before approving a transaction.
## Risks and storage
MITO carries the usual risks of a cryptoasset: its price can change sharply, trading liquidity may be limited, and you may lose some or all of the money you put at risk. Mitosis’s protocol also depends on software and smart contracts, which can contain defects or be affected by exploits. Strategies that use liquidity positions can expose users to losses from changing asset prices, changing yields, protocol failures or other DeFi risks. Cross-chain systems add risks involving bridges, validators or other infrastructure. A stated token utility does not remove these risks or guarantee demand for the token.
For self-custody, use a reputable wallet that supports MITO on the correct network. Keep the recovery phrase offline and private, confirm the network and address before signing, and be cautious of unsolicited messages, fake tokens and approvals that grant broad access to your assets. Hardware wallets can reduce exposure of signing keys to internet-connected devices, but they do not prevent mistakes or unsafe contract approvals. Never share a recovery phrase with anyone.
By the numbers
Mitosis in numbers
Mitosis (MITO) is ranked #1,980 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $3.24M and a price of $0.006734 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $6.73M, so roughly 48% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 5.9% over 7 days, down 57.3% over 30 days, down 93.8% over the past year. It trades about 98% below its all-time high of $0.4093, set on Sep 14, 2025.
About 480.58M MITO are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (48% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $4.86M, or 150% of its market cap: very high turnover.
MITO has token contracts on BNB Chain. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
MITO is linked to Mitosis, which we cover in our Onchain Capital Allocator rankings. See our Mitosis page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

MITO FAQs
What is Mitosis?
Mitosis is a project building infrastructure for programmable DeFi liquidity positions and cross-chain liquidity. It describes itself as a Layer 1 network, but public sources list MITO as issued on BNB Chain rather than as a native token of a listed chain.
What is the MITO token used for?
Public descriptions associate MITO with governance, transaction fees and liquidity incentives. The exact scope of these functions is not fully established here, so check current project documentation before relying on a specific use.
What is the supply of MITO?
MITO has a stated maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. About 480.6 million were circulating as of 2026-11-05; token allocations and future unlock timing should be checked in current project disclosures.
Which blockchain is MITO on?
Public sources list MITO as issued on BNB Chain and does not list it as the native token of a chain. Confirm the network and token contract before making a transfer.
How do I store MITO safely?
MITO can be held in a wallet that supports the token on its correct network. Check the network and contract address, protect your recovery phrase, and review transaction approvals carefully; self-custody does not eliminate crypto or smart-contract risks.
What is the market cap of Mitosis?
As of Nov 6, 2026, Mitosis had a market cap of about $3.24M, ranking #1,980 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of MITO?
Mitosis's all-time high is $0.4093, reached on Sep 14, 2025. Its all-time low is $0.006375 (Nov 5, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of MITO?
As of Nov 6, 2026, about 480.58M MITO were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 1B.
Which blockchains is MITO on?
It has token contracts on BNB Chain.
