## What is MTA?

mStable Governance: Meta, or MTA, is the protocol token for mStable. It is intended to support governance of the protocol and help coordinate its community of Governors. MTA is not itself a stablecoin: the project describes it as a token used in connection with mStable’s mAssets, liquidity and governance.

The token has three stated roles. It supports decentralized governance, is intended to incentivize liquidity and utility for mAssets and community participation, and may serve as a source of re-collateralization if Governors approve that use in the future. That last role is conditional, not a guarantee that re-collateralization will happen. These functions describe the project’s intended design; they do not ensure that the protocol or its token will remain active or valuable.

## What is MTA used for?

MTA’s governance role is to help the community coordinate decisions about mStable. Its incentive role is intended to encourage liquidity for mAssets, support their utility and help build a decentralized community of Governors. The specific proposals, incentives and participation arrangements can change through governance, so readers should check the protocol’s current materials before relying on a particular function.

The project also identifies MTA as a possible source of re-collateralization. This use is described as something that could be implemented in the future after approval by Governors. It should not be treated as a current feature or as a promise that token holders will be compensated in a particular way. MTA’s stated roles are protocol-related; holding the token alone does not establish that a holder will receive income, have a particular voting weight or gain access to every mStable service.

## MTA supply and market figures

MTA has a stated maximum supply of 100 million tokens. As of 2026-11-05, about 55.4 million were reported in circulation and about 84.6 million as total supply. These figures describe different supply measures: circulating supply refers to tokens counted as available in the market, while total supply includes tokens that may not be circulating. Supply figures can change, so treat them as a dated snapshot rather than a permanent count.

On the same date, MTA’s price was about $0.031 and its market capitalization about $1.7 million. Both figures move with trading and should not be treated as a valuation forecast. Historical prices have varied substantially, and past highs or lows do not indicate what the token will be worth next. MTA’s supply limits and market figures do not remove risks such as low liquidity, changes to the protocol or loss of demand.

## Chains and storage

MTA is issued on Ethereum, Optimism and Polygon. The project facts do not identify it as the native token of any of these networks; issuance on a chain is different from being that chain’s native asset. Before receiving or transferring MTA, check which network the sending service or wallet supports and make sure the receiving address is configured for that same network. A transfer on an unsupported chain can be difficult or impossible to recover.

For self-custody, use a wallet that supports the relevant network and MTA’s token format, and protect the recovery phrase or private keys offline. Never share them with someone claiming to help recover or move tokens. A custodial exchange may hold the keys for you, but that introduces dependence on the provider and its withdrawal policies. Check token and network details through reliable project information rather than relying only on a token name or ticker, which can be copied by unrelated assets.

## Risks to understand

MTA carries both protocol and market risks. Governance decisions can change how the token is used, and the proposed re-collateralization role depends on future approval. Incentives may also change or fail to attract lasting liquidity. A governance token does not guarantee control over every protocol decision, revenue, or a financial return.

Market liquidity is another concern: as of 2026-11-05, reported 24-hour trading volume was about $750, a dated figure that can change. Thin trading can make it harder to buy or sell without affecting the price. Smart-contract vulnerabilities, network outages, incorrect transfers, wallet compromise and third-party custody failures are additional risks. MTA’s value can fall substantially, including to very low levels. Research the current protocol and token details, understand the risks of the network and wallet you use, and do not treat historical prices or supply information as a promise of future performance.

By the numbers

mStable Governance: Meta in numbers

mStable Governance: Meta (MTA) is ranked #2,530 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $1.71M and a price of $0.0309 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $2.62M, so roughly 66% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was up 0.0% over 7 days, up 2.0% over 30 days, down 1.9% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $11.03, set on Aug 31, 2020.

About 55.44M MTA are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 100M (55% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $66, or 0.0% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

MTA has token contracts on 3 chains we track, including Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

CoinGecko groups MTA under DEX tokens, Exchange tokens, Yield farming tokens, Governance tokens.

MTA FAQs

What is MTA used for?

MTA is the protocol token for mStable. Its stated roles include supporting decentralized governance, incentivizing mAsset liquidity and utility, and potentially providing re-collateralization if Governors approve that use.

Is MTA a stablecoin?

No. MTA is a protocol token, not a stablecoin. Its market value can fluctuate, and the project’s intended connection to mAssets does not make MTA’s price stable.

What is the maximum supply of MTA?

The maximum supply is 100 million MTA. As of 2026-11-05, about 55.4 million were reported in circulation and about 84.6 million as total supply; these amounts can change.

Which networks support MTA?

MTA is issued on Ethereum, Optimism and Polygon. Check that your wallet or service supports the exact network you plan to use before transferring tokens.

How can I store MTA?

Use a wallet that supports MTA on the network you choose, and keep your recovery phrase or private keys private and secure. For any transfer, verify the network and token details first; sending on an unsupported network can result in a loss.

What is the market cap of mStable Governance: Meta?
