## What is Klima Protocol K2?

Klima Protocol is on-chain infrastructure on Base for a voluntary carbon market. It is designed to support the pricing, liquidity and retirement of tokenized carbon credits. K2 is one of the protocol’s two named tokens, alongside kVCM, and forms part of its Autonomous Asset Manager (AAM) and two-token model.

K2 should not be confused with a carbon credit itself. The protocol description presents the AAM as the mechanism for pricing and providing liquidity for tokenized carbon assets; it does not establish that holding K2 represents ownership of a specific credit or a claim on an offset. KlimaDAO is the project behind Klima Protocol. Public information describes pricing as shaped by supply, demand and user governance, but does not specify K2’s exact voting rights or all of its token-level functions.

## How K2 fits into the protocol

K2’s stated role is within Klima Protocol’s system for handling tokenized carbon assets. The AAM is intended to facilitate pricing and liquidity, while the protocol’s model aims to have prices emerge within the network rather than relying on external liquidity pools. The project also describes incentives and portfolio value as ways value created by the protocol can flow back to network participants.

Those broad descriptions do not, by themselves, tell a holder exactly what actions K2 enables. Public details cited here do not confirm whether K2 can be used to vote, claim rewards, redeem carbon credits or receive a particular share of protocol assets. Treat those as unconfirmed unless the protocol’s current documentation and contracts spell them out. Klima Protocol is intended to support supplying and retiring voluntary carbon credits, but using K2 is not the same as purchasing or retiring a credit.

## K2 supply, network and market information

K2 is issued on Base. It is not listed as a native token of a blockchain, so do not assume it pays Base network transaction fees; those are separate from any protocol-level use of K2. Wallets and applications that support Base may be able to display or hold K2, but compatibility depends on the correct token contract and the wallet’s features.

The stated supply figures are 100 million K2 total and 100 million maximum, with about 45.5 million circulating as of 2026-11-05. Market figures are snapshots, not fixed token terms: on that date K2 was priced at about $0.021, with a market capitalization of about $967,000 and reported 24-hour trading volume of about $153. Such low reported volume can make trading difficult or cause the price of a trade to differ from a quoted price. These figures can change substantially.

## Risks and safe storage

K2 carries both market and protocol risks. Its value may change sharply, and limited trading activity can make it hard to buy or sell at a desired price. The token’s purpose also depends on Klima Protocol’s design and continued operation. Carbon-credit markets have additional risks, including differences in credit quality, verification and retirement practices; tokenization alone does not establish that an offset delivers a particular climate outcome.

If you hold K2, use a wallet that supports Base and confirm the token contract through Klima Protocol’s official materials before adding or sending it. A wrong contract or network can lead to lost funds, and cryptocurrency transfers are generally difficult to reverse. Protect your recovery phrase offline, never share it, and be cautious of unsolicited messages or sites asking you to connect a wallet. Review the current protocol documentation and contract permissions before interacting with any dApp. K2 is not a guaranteed-return product, and market figures are not investment advice.

By the numbers

Klima Protocol K2 in numbers

Klima Protocol K2 (K2) is ranked #2,961 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $1.08M and a price of $0.0238 as of Nov 7, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $2.38M, so roughly 45% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 5.4% over 7 days, down 31.7% over 30 days, down 73.5% over the past year. It trades about 77% below its all-time high of $0.1033, set on Nov 1, 2025.

About 45.49M K2 are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 100M (45% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $24, or 0.0% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

K2 has token contracts on Base. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

K2 is linked to KlimaDAO, which we cover in our Real-World Assets rankings. See our KlimaDAO page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

K2 FAQs

What blockchain is K2 on?

K2 is issued on Base. Confirm that your wallet and the application you use support Base, and verify the token contract through official Klima Protocol materials before transferring funds.

What is the supply of K2?

The stated total and maximum supply are 100 million K2, with about 45.5 million circulating as of 2026-11-05. Circulating supply and market figures can change, so check current information before relying on them.

What can K2 be used for?

K2 is part of Klima Protocol’s system for pricing and providing liquidity for tokenized carbon assets. Public information does not clearly specify every holder right, so do not assume K2 itself represents a carbon credit, a redemption claim or a particular voting entitlement.

What are the risks of holding K2?

K2 is a crypto token and can lose value; reported trading activity may also be limited. The protocol’s operation and carbon-credit practices present separate risks, and tokenization alone does not prove an offset’s climate impact.

How do I store K2 safely?

Use a wallet that supports Base, verify the token contract before interacting, and keep your recovery phrase private and offline. Check the network and destination carefully, since mistaken transfers may not be reversible.

What is the market cap of Klima Protocol K2?

As of Nov 7, 2026, Klima Protocol K2 had a market cap of about $1.08M, ranking #2,961 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of K2?

Klima Protocol K2's all-time high is $0.1033, reached on Nov 1, 2025. Its all-time low is $0.001465 (Sep 3, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of K2?

As of Nov 7, 2026, about 45.49M K2 were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 100M.

Which blockchains is K2 on?

It has token contracts on Base.
