## What is Compliant Naira (CNGN)?

Compliant Naira (CNGN), also written cNGN, is a stablecoin designed to represent the Nigerian naira on blockchain networks. Unlike a US-dollar stablecoin, its intended reference value is the naira, so its value in dollars can move as the naira’s exchange rate changes. The project describes cNGN as backed one-to-one by naira reserves held in designated commercial banks. That is a description of the reserve model, not by itself proof that every token can be redeemed on demand or that the peg will always hold.

The token’s stated purpose is to make naira-denominated digital transfers and payments possible on-chain. It may be useful for people or businesses who want to move a naira-referenced asset between supported wallets or applications. Before relying on it for a payment, check whether the recipient, platform and network support the exact CNGN token you hold. Also review the issuer’s current reserve information and redemption rules.

## What is CNGN used for?

CNGN is intended for payments, remittances, commerce and settlement, including transfers between blockchain wallets. A token can move on-chain without using the same transfer process as a conventional bank payment, but that does not guarantee that it will be faster or cheaper in every case. Network congestion, transaction fees, exchange availability and the recipient’s ability to convert CNGN into naira all affect how useful a transfer is in practice.

CNGN is not a share in a company, a claim on blockchain rewards or a token that grants voting rights, based on the public description available here. Its stated value proposition is its naira reference and its use for on-chain transactions. As with other stablecoins, the peg can differ from its intended value on trading venues, and the price shown in dollars reflects both CNGN’s market value and the naira’s exchange rate. Do not assume that a quoted market price guarantees direct redemption at the stated rate.

## CNGN networks and supply

CNGN is issued on Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Celo, Solana, Lisk and Polygon. These are separate networks, and a CNGN token on one chain is not automatically interchangeable with a token on another. When sending or receiving, confirm the network and token contract with the other party or service. Sending to an unsupported network or address can make funds difficult or impossible to recover.

Supply figures need caution. As of 2026-11-05, the figures available list about 4.02 billion CNGN as circulating and about 3.96 billion as total supply. Circulating supply exceeding total supply is inconsistent, so these figures should not be treated as a reliable supply snapshot without clarification. No maximum supply is listed. The same dated market data puts CNGN’s price at about $0.00073 and its market capitalization at about $2.9 million; both can change, and a dollar price is not the same as a fixed dollar peg.

## Risks to understand

CNGN has risks beyond ordinary wallet and blockchain risks. The naira reference can lose its intended peg, and a holder may not be able to redeem tokens when needed. Reserve backing depends on the reserves being held and managed as described, while the ability to redeem can depend on the issuer’s terms, eligibility rules and available services. The word “Compliant” in the name should not be taken on its own as evidence of a particular regulatory approval or guarantee.

There are also network-specific risks. Smart-contract flaws, compromised keys, outages, transfer mistakes or a problem with a bridge or exchange can result in losses. A token’s availability and liquidity may differ across networks and trading platforms. Check the current issuer documentation, reserve disclosures and redemption conditions, and consider whether the relevant chain and service are available to you before acquiring or transferring CNGN. Stablecoins can lose value, including relative to the currency they are designed to track.

## How to store CNGN

CNGN can be held in a wallet that supports the relevant network and token standard. Use the correct network when adding the token or receiving a transfer, and confirm the token contract from a trusted official source rather than relying only on a name or ticker. Token symbols can be copied by unrelated assets. Keep recovery phrases and private keys offline and private; anyone who obtains them may be able to control the wallet’s assets.

If you use a custodial exchange or wallet, the provider controls the keys and may set its own withdrawal, conversion and identity-verification requirements. A self-custody wallet gives you control of the keys but also makes you responsible for backups and transaction checks. Neither option removes the risks of a peg deviation, issuer or reserve problems, or a network failure. For any transfer, send a small test amount first when practical, and check that the receiver can accept CNGN on that exact chain.

By the numbers

Compliant Naira in numbers

Compliant Naira (CNGN) is ranked #1,969 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $3.28M and a price of $0.0007269 as of Nov 7, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($3.28M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

The price was down 0.2% over 7 days, down 1.1% over 30 days, up 6.2% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $746.42, set on May 30, 2026.

About 4.51B CNGN are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.

24-hour trading volume was about $13.1K, or 0.4% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

CNGN has token contracts on 7 chains we track, including Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Celo. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

CoinGecko groups CNGN under Stablecoins.

CNGN FAQs

Is CNGN pegged to the US dollar?

CNGN is designed to track the Nigerian naira, not the US dollar. Its dollar value can therefore change with the naira’s exchange rate, and market trading can also cause the token to deviate from its intended naira value.

What backs Compliant Naira?

The project describes CNGN as backed one-to-one by naira reserves held in designated commercial banks. Holders should check current reserve disclosures and redemption terms; the description alone does not establish that redemption is available to everyone or guaranteed at all times.

Which networks support CNGN?

CNGN is issued on Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Celo, Solana, Lisk and Polygon. Confirm the exact network and token contract before sending, because tokens on different chains are not automatically interchangeable.

What is the supply of CNGN?

The available figures dated 2026-11-05 list about 4.02 billion circulating CNGN and about 3.96 billion total CNGN, which is internally inconsistent. No maximum supply is listed, so treat the reported supply values as uncertain.

How can I store CNGN?

Use a wallet that supports CNGN on the specific network you need, and verify the token contract through an official source. Keep private keys and recovery phrases secure, and check the network carefully before sending.

What is the market cap of Compliant Naira?

As of Nov 7, 2026, Compliant Naira had a market cap of about $3.28M, ranking #1,969 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of CNGN?

Compliant Naira's all-time high is $746.42, reached on May 30, 2026. Its all-time low is $0.0003628 (May 2, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of CNGN?

As of Nov 7, 2026, about 4.51B CNGN were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.

Which blockchains is CNGN on?

It has token contracts on Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Celo, Solana, Lisk, Polygon.
