Chateau USD (CHUSD) is a stable-value crypto asset associated with Chateau, a DeFi protocol focused on tokenized investment products and private-market exposure. Chateau describes its broader approach as combining institutional underwriting with blockchain-based assets that can be used in DeFi. That description does not, by itself, establish what assets back CHUSD, whether holders can redeem it for dollars, or what protections apply to holders.

CHUSD is not the native token of either Plasma or Hyperliquid L1; it is reported as issued on both networks. Chateau also describes its tokens as omnichain through LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard. This is infrastructure for representing and transferring tokens across supported chains, not a guarantee of a fixed price or risk-free transfers. A stated use for chUSD is staking in Chateau’s schUSD vault, though public sources do not explain the vault’s current terms, yield source, withdrawal rules, or whether participation is available on every supported chain.

A stable-value aim is not the same as a guarantee that CHUSD will always trade at one US dollar. Its market price can move, and the ability to exchange or redeem it may depend on Chateau’s arrangements, smart contracts, liquidity, and any applicable restrictions. Before using CHUSD in a vault or another DeFi application, review the current product documentation and contract details. Consider whether you understand how funds are deployed and what happens if withdrawals are delayed or a strategy loses value.

CHUSD is reported as issued on Plasma and Hyperliquid L1. Chateau says its tokens use LayerZero’s OFT standard to support omnichain transfers. In practice, the networks and transfer routes available to a holder depend on which contracts and applications are currently supported; do not assume that every wallet, exchange, or DeFi app supports CHUSD on both chains.

When receiving or sending the token, confirm the network as well as the token identity with the recipient or application. A transfer sent to the wrong network or address may be difficult or impossible to recover. Cross-chain transfers can also involve smart contracts and messaging infrastructure, which add risks beyond simply holding a token on one chain.
