## What Is Boba Network?
Boba Network is an Ethereum Layer 2 network designed to process transactions away from Ethereum’s base layer. It uses optimistic-rollup technology, which groups transactions and relies on a period during which submitted data can be challenged. The aim is to reduce the burden on Ethereum and make transactions less costly, while still connecting to the Ethereum ecosystem.
Boba also describes itself as a Hybrid Compute platform. Its design lets smart contracts request off-chain computing or data from Web2 services, such as external APIs, for use in on-chain applications. This could support applications that need information or calculations that are impractical to produce entirely on-chain. The feature describes what the platform is built to enable; it does not guarantee that every application uses it or that external information is accurate.
The network can support applications such as decentralized finance, games, and NFT projects. BOBA is associated with the network, but it is distinct from the transaction-fee currency: transaction fees on Boba are paid in ETH.
## What Is BOBA Used For?
BOBA is the governance token associated with Boba DAO. Holders may be able to participate in governance by submitting proposals, voting, or delegating votes, subject to the network’s current governance rules. Governance gives token holders a way to express preferences about network direction; it does not make a token a share in a company or guarantee that a proposal will be adopted.
BOBA is not the gas token used to pay ordinary transaction fees on Boba Network. Those fees are paid in ETH, so having BOBA alone may not be enough to interact with applications on the network. The token’s governance role is the clearest stated use; do not assume it automatically provides fee discounts, staking income, or other benefits unless current official rules explicitly say so.
BOBA’s role and governance procedures can change over time. Before relying on a vote or delegation feature, check the network’s current governance interface and rules, including eligibility and any proposal-specific requirements.
## Supply and Supported Chains
BOBA is issued on Ethereum and Boba, and it is listed as a native token of Boba Network. Be careful to distinguish those network versions when sending or receiving tokens: an address or wallet setup that works on one chain may not be configured for another. Confirm the selected network and token details before approving a transfer.
The stated maximum supply is 500 million BOBA, and total supply is also 500 million. Circulating supply is about 493.6 million. These figures describe token counts, not how many tokens are actively available to trade or how governance power is distributed; holdings may be concentrated among some addresses.
As of 2026-11-05, BOBA’s reported price was about $0.019, with a market capitalization of about $9.3 million. These are time-sensitive market estimates and can change quickly. They are not a forecast or a measure of whether the network is useful, secure, or suitable for you.
## Risks and Storage
BOBA can be volatile, and its market price may move sharply or become difficult to trade at a desired price. The token’s governance value depends in part on whether holders use the voting system and whether proposals have meaningful effects. Network activity, competition, changes to the protocol, and broader crypto-market conditions can also affect demand, but none of these factors makes future performance predictable.
Using a Layer 2 involves technical risks, including software faults, operational interruptions, and risks in moving assets between networks. Boba’s Hybrid Compute design also relies on information or computation from outside the blockchain, which may be unavailable, delayed, or incorrect. A smart contract or application can introduce additional risks even when the underlying network is operating normally.
For storage, use a wallet that supports the relevant Ethereum or Boba network, and check the chain and token details before transferring BOBA. Keep recovery phrases and private keys private and offline, and never share them with someone claiming to provide support. Losing access credentials or sending tokens on the wrong network can result in permanent loss. This is general information, not investment advice.
By the numbers
Boba Network in numbers
Boba Network (BOBA) is ranked #1,343 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $8.44M and a price of $0.0171 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($8.55M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 7.0% over 7 days, down 18.5% over 30 days, down 68.6% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $7.93, set on Nov 25, 2021.
About 493.6M BOBA are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 500M (99% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $149K, or 1.8% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
BOBA is the native token of Boba; it also has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

BOBA FAQs
What is BOBA used for?
BOBA is used for governance in Boba DAO, including participation in proposals and votes under the applicable rules. It is not the network’s gas token; Boba transaction fees are paid in ETH.
Which networks support BOBA?
BOBA exists on Ethereum and Boba, and Boba Network lists it as a native token. Check the selected chain and token details before sending, because using the wrong network can lead to lost funds.
What is the supply of BOBA?
The stated maximum and total supply are both 500 million BOBA, with about 493.6 million circulating. Supply figures can change in how they are reported, so check current information before relying on them.
Is BOBA used to pay Boba Network gas fees?
No. Transaction fees on Boba Network are paid in ETH, not BOBA. You may need ETH on the appropriate network to use applications or send transactions.
What are the main risks of BOBA?
BOBA carries market, governance, smart-contract, and network risks, and its price can change substantially. It is possible to lose some or all of the value you put into a crypto asset.
What is the market cap of Boba Network?
As of Nov 6, 2026, Boba Network had a market cap of about $8.44M, ranking #1,343 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of BOBA?
Boba Network's all-time high is $7.93, reached on Nov 25, 2021. Its all-time low is $0.0168 (Aug 18, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of BOBA?
As of Nov 6, 2026, about 493.6M BOBA were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 500M.
Which blockchains is BOBA on?
BOBA is the native token of Boba. It has token contracts on Ethereum.
