Wingman Review 2026: Coinbase Liquidation Guardian and Fee Auditor

Wingman is a companion tool for Coinbase traders. It watches your margin, warns you before liquidation and audits your fills against Coinbase's published fees. It says it never touches your funds, but it currently supports Coinbase only.

Our verdict on Wingman

6.5/10

Wingman suits active Coinbase spot and perpetual traders who want liquidation warnings and a check on whether they are being overcharged, without handing over control of their funds. Its main strengths are the specific, number-based warnings and the free practice account. The main caveats are that it supports only Coinbase, publishes no plan prices, team or audit details on the homepage, and describes some automated exit tools that deserve a close read before you grant any access.

What is Wingman?

Wingman is a trading companion aimed at people who trade spot and perpetual markets on their own Coinbase account. Its pitch is that it flies beside you, not for you: it watches, warns and explains, but does not trade on your behalf or hold your funds.

The core features are a liquidation guardian that gives exact numbers before Coinbase would force you out, an audit of every fill against the exchange's published fee rate, and plain-English market reads that explain why price is moving. A paper-trading account and a free prediction game, Flight Deck, round out the product.

The tool is independent of Coinbase and currently works with Coinbase accounts only. The homepage does not name a team, publish audit reports or list plan prices, and the live track record section was still loading when the page was captured. It suits active traders who want a second set of eyes, but it needs due diligence on permissions and cost.

How Wingman works

Wingman sits beside your Coinbase account rather than acting as a broker. It reads your margin, positions and fills, then compares them with live market data. The goal is to tell you things you would otherwise find out too late, such as how close you are to liquidation or whether a fill cost more than the published rate.

The analysis side is built from four parts the site names: The Pulse for cycle phase and trend, The Desk for what the indicators mean right now, The Wire for news, and Sentry for order book walls. It runs on a platform called Atelier, which the site describes as a persistent memory and reasoning layer that sits on top of any model.

Wingman says its own warnings are graded against real prices and that wins and losses are shown. It also runs simulated strategy engines, such as Signal Sam on a $100,000 paper account, measured against a coin-flip control. The homepage says trades are always your click, though it also describes optional exit automation, so read the permissions carefully.

8 features

Key features

01

Liquidation guardian

Monitors your margin on perpetual positions and warns before Coinbase would liquidate you. It gives the exact amount to add or the exact number of contracts to sell.

02

Fee and fill audit

Compares each fill with the fee rate your exchange publishes and tallies the difference, across every fill rather than a sample.

03

Live market reads

Plain-English market reads that combine indicators, structure, news posture and order book analysis. Examples include support and resistance levels, a downside ladder and an overbought warning.

04

Smart exit tools

Includes a trailing stop that weighs momentum and a patience setting. It also offers an optional position flip on a confirmed thrust, at most once every 30 seconds.

05

Self-graded track record

Warnings are graded against what happened next, and the scorecard is meant to be visible, including misses.

06

Paper trading

Free practice account with $100,000 of simulated money, real market data and real fee math.

07

Flight Deck game

Every two hours you call a coin up or down against AI players and other users. Calls are graded against real candles for a reputation leaderboard, with no money at stake.

08

Pulse, Desk, Wire, Sentry

Four parts of one system: The Pulse for cycle and trend, The Desk for what to do now, The Wire for news, and Sentry for order book walls that may not be real.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Liquidation warnings give a concrete number, such as contracts to sell, rather than a vague alert
  • Fee audit checks every fill against the exchange's published rate
  • Says it never holds funds, and the account stays in your name
  • Free paper account with $100,000 and real market data for practice
  • Publishes a self-graded track record and says it shows misses
  • Free 30-day audit on every account lets you see value before paying

Watch out for

  • Works with Coinbase accounts only for now; other exchanges are not connected
  • Paid plan prices are not stated on the homepage, so cost is unclear before sign-up
  • Independent and not affiliated with Coinbase, so it depends on what Coinbase lets third parties access
  • No audit reports, team details or company information appear on the homepage
  • Exit automation is described as running on Wingman's side, which sits awkwardly with the 'never trades without you' pitch and needs a careful read
  • The live track record section was still loading on the homepage, so accuracy claims are hard to check from outside

Wingman fees

Wingman does not publish plan prices on its homepage. The pricing page says every account starts with a free 30-day forensic audit of where your money went, then lets you choose how much of Wingman watches your positions. Exact monthly costs are shown on that pricing page.

The tool also audits what Coinbase charges you, so exchange trading fees remain a separate cost paid to Coinbase. The practice account is free, and it uses real fee math to show what trades would cost.

Is Wingman safe?

Wingman states that it never touches your money and that your Coinbase account stays under your control, with every trade being your own click. That is a non-custodial claim from the project itself. The site does not publish what access permissions it requests, who runs the company, or any security audit, so verify these before connecting an account.

The site also describes exit tools where stops are held on Wingman's side rather than as resting orders on the exchange, and an optional position flip. Check exactly what authority you grant, and what happens if Wingman goes offline mid-trade.

Leveraged and perpetual trading can lose more than you expect, and no warning tool removes that risk. Wingman's analysis is not financial advice, and the homepage's own signals are graded after the fact. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.

How to get started with Wingman

  1. 1

Try the live demo or the simulation first, which needs no connection to any account.

  2. 2

Create a free account and practise with the $100,000 paper balance against real market data.

  3. 3

Read the pricing page to see which tier covers the guardian and the fee audit.

  4. 4

If you trade on Coinbase, request early access and connect your account, checking what permissions it asks for.

  5. 5

Run the free 30-day audit to see where your money went and how fills compared with published fees.

  6. 6

Set up the liquidation guardian on your perpetual positions and keep making every trade decision yourself.

Who Wingman is for

Wingman is built for active spot and perpetual traders on Coinbase who want to know about bad fills and liquidation risk before it costs them. It also suits newer traders who want to practise on a $100,000 simulated account with real market data. It is a poor fit if you trade on other exchanges, since none are connected yet.

Wingman FAQs

Is Wingman a broker or exchange?

No. Wingman describes itself as a trading companion, not a broker. It says your Coinbase account stays in your name and that it never touches your money or trades without you.

Which exchanges does Wingman support?

Only Coinbase accounts today. The site states that other exchanges are not connected yet and that Wingman is independent and not affiliated with Coinbase.

What does the liquidation guardian do?

It reads your margin continuously and warns you before Coinbase would liquidate you. The warning gives a specific number: how much to add, or how many contracts to sell to get clear.

Can I try Wingman without connecting my account?

Yes. You can create a free account to practise with a $100,000 simulated balance against real market data, and there is a live demo that needs no connection. Every account also starts with a free 30-day audit of where your money went, according to the pricing page.

How does the fee audit work?

Wingman compares what you were charged on each fill with the rate your exchange publishes. It tallies the gap, so you can see whether you were overcharged.

Does Wingman guarantee profitable trades?

The homepage describes Wingman's own signals as graded automatically against live prices, with wins and losses shown. Any such tool is still analysis, not a guarantee, and leveraged trading can lose money quickly.

How much does Wingman cost?

Paid tiers exist, and the pricing page says every account begins with a free 30-day forensic audit. Specific plan prices are not stated on the homepage, so check the pricing page before connecting.
