Our verdict on Notcoin
4.5/10Notcoin suits readers who want to understand how a viral Telegram game became a major token, or who are comfortable with a speculative meme-style asset. Its strength is the huge reach it built through Telegram and TON. The caveat is that the game is over, the project publishes no roadmap or audit, and the price is down roughly 99% from its peak. Treat it as high risk and only use money you can afford to lose.

What is Notcoin?
Notcoin is a Telegram-based tap-to-earn game that turned into the NOT token on The Open Network (TON). Players tapped a coin image to collect in-game tokens, and the aim was to bring people who knew little about crypto into the space.
The game launched in beta on TON in November 2023 and reportedly drew over 5 million players in the first week after its official January 2024 launch. One guide says it reached 20 million users by late January. A 2026 guide cites 40 million users.
Open Builders is reported to have developed it, with support from the TON Foundation. The project is described as a meme coin with no stated purpose beyond spreading. Reports say it has no website or roadmap, and its November 2023 whitepaper was nine blank pages.
The token peaked near $0.02945 in June 2024. One exchange data page puts it around $0.00034 with a market cap near $34 million, about 98.8% below the peak.
How Notcoin works
Notcoin began as a clicker game inside Telegram. Users tapped a coin on screen and collected in-game tokens, and a referral system pushed growth. One guide reports about 37 trillion in-game tokens were mined before the game's token launch.
Those points were later converted into the NOT token on the TON blockchain, which is closely tied to Telegram. After the token launched, it began trading on exchanges. A guide published in 2026 says the game itself has ended because all NOT is now in circulation.
Today NOT works like other tokens on TON: you hold it in a wallet, trade it on exchanges, or burn it. A burn sends tokens to a separate wallet account and needs 1 TON, and the burned tokens are no longer usable by the original holder.

Key features
01
Telegram mini-app game
The game ran as a mini-app in Telegram, so users needed no separate app or wallet to start tapping.
02
Tap-to-earn mechanic
Players tapped an animated coin to collect in-game coins, with no investment required.
03
Referral growth
A referral programme helped the game spread quickly. One guide reports 20 million users by late January 2024.
04
Token on TON
In-game coins were converted into the NOT token on the TON blockchain after the game's launch period.
05
Voluntary token burn
Holders can send NOT to a separate wallet to burn it. The process requires 1 TON and cannot be undone.
06
Ecosystem participation
One exchange page says holders can obtain NOT through ecosystem activities, including exploration-style games and community contributions.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Reached tens of millions of users through Telegram, so it has a large holder base
- Listed on major exchanges, per one guide
- Runs on TON, which has low-cost transactions and Telegram Wallet integration
- Has a simple burn function for holders who want to remove supply
- Transparent about being a meme-style project rather than promising utility
Watch out for
- The tap-to-earn game has ended, so new users can only get NOT by buying it on the market
- Price is down about 98.8% from its June 2024 all-time high, according to one exchange data page
- Thin trading and a shallow order book can make the price jump on small orders
- The project positions itself as a meme coin and has published no roadmap or detailed whitepaper
- Third-party sources describe a single project team and a foundation link, but the project publishes no audit or governance detail
- Burning NOT is a one-way action and needs 1 TON for the transaction
Notcoin fees
Notcoin does not publish a fee schedule, because the token has no protocol-level trading fees of its own. Costs depend on where you trade: each exchange sets its own trading and withdrawal fees.
On TON, network transactions need a small amount of TON for gas. One exchange page states that burning NOT requires 1 TON before the burn is carried out.
Is Notcoin safe?
Notcoin's own contracts have no audit report in the sources reviewed, and the project does not publish licensing or governance information. The main risks are market risk and the usual exchange or wallet risks. Verify the token contract before trading, as lookalike tokens such as NOTCOIN INU exist.
Holders keep custody if they use a self-custody wallet. If they leave NOT on an exchange, they depend on that exchange's security. The price record shows steep swings, and one exchange page notes that low volume and a shallow order book can move the price on limited trading.
6 steps
How to get started with Notcoin
- 1
Confirm that buying and holding crypto tokens is legal where you live.
- 2
Choose a reputable exchange that lists NOT and read its fees and withdrawal rules.
- 3
Check the token's contract address on TON before trading or moving funds.
- 4
Buy a small amount, as the price is volatile and liquidity can be thin.
- 5
If you withdraw to a self-custody wallet, make sure it supports TON and keep a little TON for network fees.
- 6
Keep your seed phrase offline and never share it with anyone.
Who Notcoin is for
Notcoin is for crypto-curious readers who want to study how gamified onboarding worked on Telegram, and for speculative traders comfortable with a volatile meme-style token. It does not suit people seeking a product with ongoing utility, audited contracts or stable value.
