Lido Impact Staking Review 2026: Donate Your Yield

Lido Impact Staking lets you stake ETH through Lido, or supply stablecoins to Aave, and send a chosen share of the yield to social impact organisations. It is a niche giving tool with a small footprint, and your principal stays yours.

By the DappsAtlas editorial team · Updated

Our verdict on Lido Impact Staking

6.8/10

Lido Impact Staking suits ETH holders and stablecoin lenders who want to fund social causes from yield while keeping their principal. Its strengths are a clear concept, direct donations to organisation wallets and reliance on established protocols like Lido and Aave. The caveats are small scale, stacked smart-contract risk and unpublished fee details. Read the audit report and the staking page costs first, and treat the donated share as a gift you will not get back.

What is Lido Impact Staking?

Lido Impact Staking, shortened to LIS, is a giving tool built on Ethereum staking. You stake ETH and choose what share of your rewards goes to a social impact organisation. The idea is to fund charitable work from yield instead of from your principal.

The site says the product is powered by Launchnodes and uses Lido for the staking layer. It also offers a stablecoin option that routes Aave lending yield to the same kind of organisations. Organisations can apply to be listed and receive donations.

The footprint is small. It runs on Ethereum only, has no token, and holds roughly $225,000 in value. It was listed in May 2025, though the underlying concept has been discussed publicly since at least 2022 and early 2023 grant materials.

How Lido Impact Staking works

For ETH, the platform stakes your funds through Lido, the large liquid staking protocol. Your ETH earns staking rewards, and a smart contract tracks how much of those rewards belongs to you and how much to the organisation you chose. The donated share is sent to that organisation's wallet.

The stablecoin route works the same way but uses Aave's lending market. You supply USDT, USDC or DAI, borrowers pay interest on over-collateralised loans, and your chosen percentage of that interest goes to the organisation. The rest accrues to your balance.

When you want out, you claim your principal back along with the yield you kept. Because yield changes with network conditions and borrowing demand, the amount donated changes too.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Your principal is returned; only the yield share you choose is donated
  • Donations go straight to organisation wallets, with no intermediary stated
  • Built on Lido and Aave, which are established protocols
  • Works for individuals and institutions, in ETH or stablecoins
  • No native token to speculate on, which keeps the product simple
  • An audit report is linked from the site

Watch out for

  • Small TVL of roughly $225,000, so adoption is still modest
  • Exposed to Lido, Ethereum smart-contract and Aave risk, plus stETH depeg risk
  • The audit is only linked from the site and its scope is not summarised there
  • The fee structure is not stated on the homepage
  • Donated rewards are not recoverable, and tax treatment depends on where you live
  • The team and governance behind the product are not described on the homepage

Lido Impact Staking fees

The homepage does not publish a fee table. As a Lido-based product, staking rewards are subject to Lido's protocol fee, which is taken from rewards rather than principal. The exact amount is not stated on the page.

You also pay normal Ethereum gas for staking, claiming and withdrawing. The staking page appears to show cost and withdrawal details, so check them there before depositing.

Is Lido Impact Staking safe?

Your funds are exposed to several layers of smart-contract risk: the LIS contracts, Lido, Ethereum validators and, for stablecoins, Aave. Staked ETH also carries stETH market and withdrawal-queue risk. The homepage links an audit report, but its scope and findings are not summarised on the page, so read it directly.

The platform does not describe its legal structure or regulatory status on the homepage, and donations may or may not be tax-deductible depending on where you live. Check local rules and the receiving organisation's status before relying on that. No hacks or incidents appear. Start with a small amount if you are new.

Who Lido Impact Staking is for

This suits long-term ETH holders and stablecoin holders who already plan to stake or lend and want part of the return to go to a cause. It also suits organisations looking for recurring crypto donations. It is not aimed at anyone chasing maximum yield, since donating reduces your returns by design.

Lido Impact Staking FAQs

What is Lido Impact Staking?

Lido Impact Staking is a platform where you stake ETH through Lido and donate a percentage of your staking rewards to a listed social impact organisation. A separate Stablecoin for Impact option does the same with lending yield from Aave.

Do I lose my staked ETH by donating?

No. The principal remains yours and can be claimed back along with the share of rewards you chose to keep. Only the percentage of yield you pick goes to the organisation.

Which assets can I use?

The site lists ETH, stETH and wstETH for staking, and USDT, USDC and DAI for the stablecoin option. It runs on Ethereum.

Where does the donated share go?

The percentage you donate is sent to the impact organisation's wallet. The site describes this as direct, with no intermediaries.

Is the yield fixed?

Staking rewards and lending yield both vary. ETH rewards depend on the Lido and Ethereum networks, and stablecoin yield depends on borrowing demand on Aave. The homepage shows a live APR figure but does not promise a rate.

Does Lido Impact Staking have its own token?

The project does not publish a token and none is listed. Rewards come from ETH staking and Aave lending, not from a native token.

Can my charity or organisation receive donations?

Yes. Organisations can apply through a List your org page to be added to the marketplace and receive donations. Eligibility rules are not set out on the homepage.
