Our verdict on Laso Finance

6.3/10

Laso Finance suits crypto holders who want to spend USDC, USDT or DAI online through virtual prepaid cards or gift cards without a bank account, and developers who want AI agents to pay with x402. Its strengths are the broad network support, the large gift card catalogue and the stated FinCEN registration. The main caveats are the unnamed card issuer, fees that are only partly published on the homepage, and the lack of ATM access. Keep balances small and read the fee schedule first.

What is Laso Finance?

Laso Finance is a crypto spending service that turns stablecoins into prepaid cards, gift cards and direct payouts. It is operated by Laso Finance LLC, which says it is a FinCEN-registered Money Services Business in Austin, Texas. The homepage claims more than 16,000 users.

The product range includes USA prepaid cards from $20 to $1,000, international cards, gift cards from more than 3,000 brands, and payouts to Venmo, PayPal and debit cards. Deposits are accepted in USDC, USDT and DAI on eight networks.

What sets Laso apart is its focus on AI agents. A payment-gated x402 API and an MCP server let software order cards and send payments with USDC, while a human owner handles identity verification. The project also has a LASO token, though the sources here do not explain its role.

The main caveats are an unnamed card issuer, limited published fee detail on the homepage and a virtual-only card with no ATM access.

How Laso Finance works

You hold stablecoins in your own wallet and send them to Laso on a supported network. Laso converts the deposit into a balance that funds a prepaid card, a gift card order or a payout. The cards are prepaid, so you can only spend what you have loaded.

USA cards are single-load and range from $20 to $1,000 for U.S. merchants. International cards are aimed at spending worldwide. Gift cards are delivered as redemption codes once payment is confirmed, and payouts can go to Venmo, PayPal or a debit card.

For AI agents, Laso exposes an x402 API. x402 is an HTTP payment method in which a request is answered with a payment demand, and the agent pays in USDC on Base or Solana before the service responds. Agents can also connect through an MCP server. According to the homepage, the human account owner completes any required identity verification.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • No bank account or credit check is needed; you fund it from a wallet you control.
  • Wide stablecoin support: USDC, USDT and DAI across eight networks.
  • Gift card catalogue of more than 3,000 brands with instant code delivery.
  • No monthly, per-authorization or per-decline fees, according to Laso.
  • Laso Finance LLC states a FinCEN Money Services Business registration number.
  • An x402 API and MCP server make it usable by AI agents.

Watch out for

  • The card issuer is not named in the sources, so users cannot easily judge who holds the underlying card programme.
  • The USA card is limited to U.S. merchants and U.S. shipping addresses, and loads are capped at $1,000.
  • One review site reports a 14% refund fee with a $10 minimum, and about 2% FX on non-USD spending; Laso's own fee schedule should be checked.
  • Cards are virtual only with no ATM access, and one review site says Apple Pay is not guaranteed to work.
  • One review site reports that the bug bounty was paused indefinitely in September 2026.
  • KYC details are inconsistent across sources, so the identity checks a user will face are not clear in advance.

Laso Finance fees

Laso says there are no monthly, per-authorization or per-decline fees. In most cases a user pays one fee when loading a card or sending a payout, and the full list sits on its fee schedule.

One review site reports that the USA card adds 0% on top of the load, while the International card adds 3.8%. The same site cites, from unofficial sources, around 2% FX on non-USD spending and a 14% refund fee with a $10 minimum. Laso does not state these figures on its homepage, so treat them as unconfirmed and check the fee schedule before loading.

Is Laso Finance safe?

Laso Finance LLC says it is registered with FinCEN as a Money Services Business. That is a registration for money transmission businesses in the U.S., not a guarantee of safety, and prepaid balances are not described as insured. One review site notes that the card issuer is not named, which makes it harder to assess who holds the card programme.

The same site reports that a bug bounty was paused indefinitely in September 2026. The sources do not mention audits or security incidents. Because you send stablecoins to Laso and receive a prepaid balance, you carry counterparty risk, so load only what you plan to spend. Check that the service is available where you live.

Who Laso Finance is for

Laso Finance is for people who hold stablecoins and want to spend them online without a bank account, particularly U.S. users who want a USDC-funded virtual card or gift cards. It also suits developers building AI agents that need to pay for services programmatically. It is a poor fit for anyone who needs ATM withdrawals, a named issuing bank or in-store use that does not depend on mobile wallets.
