ActiveBetdex Review 2026: Peer-to-Peer Sports Betting on Solana
Betdex is a peer-to-peer sports betting exchange built on Solana, where users back and lay odds and keep control of their funds. It is licensed and non-custodial, but it needs KYC, USDC funding and an understanding of exchange-style betting.

Good
Our verdict on Betdex
7.4/10Betdex suits experienced bettors who already understand back and lay orders and are comfortable with USDC on Solana, ID checks and jurisdiction rules. Its main strengths are a non-custodial design, a reported licence and a low published fee of 1% on net market profit. The main caveats are variable liquidity, limited availability, and fee and audit details that you should confirm directly. It is a specialist exchange, not a simple option for casual bettors.

What is Betdex?
Betdex is a sports betting exchange built on Solana. It was launched by former FanDuel executives, and it matches users against each other instead of acting as the bookmaker. Users can back and lay odds, and the project promises never to limit accounts.
The team, Betdex Labs, was reported to have raised a $21 million seed round to build a decentralised sports betting protocol. The stated aim is to cut the high prices, limited innovation and counterparty risk of centralised sportsbooks, and to offer a permissionless protocol that other applications can build on.
In November 2022 the exchange was reported as the first fully licensed regulated sports betting exchange on blockchain, under the Online Gambling Regulation Act. That makes it different from many crypto betting sites. Access, KYC and restrictions depend on jurisdiction, and funding currently uses USDC on Solana.
How Betdex works
A betting exchange lets users bet against each other. One user backs an outcome at a given price. Another lays it, which means they take the opposite side. The exchange matches the two orders and takes a commission from net winnings on a market, so there is no bookmaker margin built into the odds.
Betdex runs this model on Solana using the Monaco Protocol. Orders and settlement happen on-chain, and the platform is described as non-custodial, so it does not hold player funds. This is meant to reduce the counterparty risk of trusting a centralised sportsbook with a balance.
Players register, pass identity checks, and fund their account with USDC on Solana. They then place back or lay orders through the web exchange or the API. Because liquidity comes from other users, how easily you get matched depends on the market.

Key features
01
Back and lay exchange

02
Non-custodial design
The platform is described as never holding player funds, which reduces the risk of a central operator losing or freezing deposits.

Pros and cons
What we like
- Peer-to-peer back and lay model with no bookmaker margin built into the odds
- Non-custodial design means the platform does not hold player funds
- Reported to be licensed and regulated, which is unusual for an on-chain exchange
- Published fee of 1% on net market profit, charged only on winnings
- Very low transaction costs on Solana, reported at around $0.00025 per transaction
- API access for back and lay orders, and a stated promise never to limit accounts
Watch out for
- Registration, identity checks and location restrictions apply, so it is not open to everyone
- Funding currently uses USDC on Solana, which adds crypto transfer and wallet risk
- Liquidity on an exchange varies by sport and event, so odds and fills can be thin
- Fee figures differ between sources, and the project's own homepage could not be checked for the current rate
- Results still have to be settled by some process, and early forum commenters questioned how truly trustless that is
- No general sign-up bonus has been verified, and the team has not published audit details in the sources reviewed
Betdex fees
One recent review reports that Betdex charges a 1% fee on net profit per market, and says this replaces a higher figure quoted in older write-ups. Earlier sources mention a 3% commission on net profits, so the rate has apparently changed over time. Confirm the current rate in the exchange's fee guide before betting.
On-chain costs are low because the exchange runs on Solana. One source puts the average cost per transaction at about $0.00025. Deposit and withdrawal fees on the user's own wallet or on-ramp are not published in the sources reviewed.
Is Betdex safe?
Betdex is described as non-custodial, so the platform does not control or hold player funds. That reduces counterparty risk compared with a centralised sportsbook. You still carry wallet, stablecoin and smart-contract risk, and the sources reviewed do not name an audit or publish audit reports.
The exchange has been reported as holding a remote betting licence under the Online Gambling Regulation Act, and reviews note registration, identity checks and prohibited locations. Early forum commenters questioned how fully counterparty risk is removed when event results must still be entered and settled. Check that online gambling is legal where you live. Betting is for adults only, typically 18+, so set limits and stop if it stops being fun.

- 1

Read the exchange rules and fee guide so you understand back and lay orders and how the commission is charged.
- 3
Register an account and complete the identity checks the platform requires.
- 4
Set up a Solana-compatible wallet and obtain USDC on Solana from an exchange or on-ramp.

- 7
Set deposit and stake limits before betting regularly.
Who Betdex is for
Betdex is for eligible bettors who want exchange-style odds and are happy to fund with USDC on Solana and pass identity checks. It suits people who value non-custodial funds and no account limits, and those who may use the API. It is a poor fit for casual bettors who want a simple bookmaker, a welcome bonus, or anonymous play.
