What Yala Stablecoin (YU) is
YU is the stablecoin issued by Yala, a protocol the project describes as a native Bitcoin liquidity layer. According to the project description, Bitcoin holders can deposit BTC and mint YU, which the project calls a BTC-backed liquidity asset. The project says this borrowing is self-custodial and liquidation-free, meaning the user keeps ownership of their BTC while gaining spendable liquidity. Our category data lists YU under stablecoins. Public sources we hold do not give a launch date, so we cannot say when YU first went live. The project also describes an ongoing relationship with DeFi and real-world asset (RWA) opportunities, but the details of those integrations are not in our data.
What the token is used for
According to the project description, YU is used as portable liquidity. A Bitcoin holder who mints YU gets dollar-denominated or stable-value liquidity without selling the underlying BTC, and can use that liquidity elsewhere. The project says borrowers pay a stability fee, and that this fee goes directly to YU depositors. Yala also describes a SmartVault module that manages system risk and distributes yield. Our data does not say how the fee rate is set, what share of fees goes to depositors, or what yields have been paid. Nothing in our facts shows that YU is a payment product for everyday merchants, so treat any use beyond minting, holding and earning stability fees as unconfirmed.
Supply and market data
As of 2026-10-08, our data shows YU priced at about 0.38 US dollars, with a market capitalisation of about 8.7 million US dollars and a fully diluted valuation of about the same. Circulating supply was about 22.7 million YU and total supply about 22.8 million. No maximum supply is listed. The 24-hour trading volume is not available in our data. The recorded all-time high was about 1.01 dollars on 2025-08-28, and the recorded all-time low was an extremely small figure on 2026-04-01. The 7-day change field in our data shows an unusually large number, and the 1-year change is missing. These figures do not fit neatly together, so we treat them as unverified and suggest checking live data. Prices change constantly and none of this is a forecast or advice.
Chains where YU is issued
Our data lists YU as issued on Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base and Solana. YU is not a native token of any of these chains, which means it is a token issued on top of them rather than the chain's own gas asset. Each chain version is a separate token deployment, and balances on one network do not appear on another without a transfer. Before buying, sending or interacting with YU, confirm which network you are using and make sure the network matches the version you intend to hold. Fees, wallets and supported tools differ between these chains. Our data does not give contract addresses, so avoid relying on public reporting or unofficial links to find them.
Risks and how to store YU
Several risks apply. The project describes YU as a stablecoin, but the recorded price of about 0.38 dollars at the time of writing suggests YU has traded well away from one dollar, so the peg is a central question for any holder. Value depends on BTC collateral and the health of the Yala system, and sharp moves in Bitcoin or in the protocol's risk module could affect the peg. Smart contract bugs, governance decisions and failures in the SmartVault module are possible. Issuance on several chains adds operational complexity. Regulation of stablecoins and yield products varies by country and may change. To store YU, use a self-custodial wallet that supports the specific chain, keep your seed phrase offline, and check the token contract through the project's official channels before sending funds. Watch for fake tokens with the same name.
By the numbers
Yala Stablecoin in numbers
Yala Stablecoin (YU) is ranked #1,326 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $8.71M and a price of $0.3837 as of Oct 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($8.71M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

About 22.7M YU are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.
YU has token contracts on 4 chains we track, including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base, Solana. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
