## What Is Vana?
Vana is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain designed for applications that let people share data with permission and support user-owned AI. Its approach is to bring data contributors, developers and data-focused communities together so datasets can be collected and used for purposes such as AI model training. The project describes Data Decentralized Autonomous Organizations, or Data DAOs, as a way for communities to organize those datasets and manage participation.
A key part of the design is the Data Liquidity Pool (DLP). Participants contribute data to a pool, where submissions are checked against requirements before the pool can support data-related applications or create data tokens. Vana also describes a Proof-of-Contribution system for validating submissions. These mechanisms are intended to help establish whether data meets a pool’s standards; they do not by themselves guarantee that a dataset will be valuable, that it will be used, or that contributors will earn income.
## What Is VANA Used For?
VANA is the native token of the Vana network. The project describes it as an incentive for people and organizations that help its data ecosystem function, including data contributors, validators and DLP creators. Public descriptions also associate the token with network participation, transaction fees and staking to help secure the chain. The exact roles and requirements can depend on the network’s current rules and the specific application or pool involved.
VANA should not be treated as a direct claim on a particular person’s data, a share in a Data DAO’s revenue, or a guarantee of payment whenever data is used. Data-related rewards depend on the pool’s design and activity, and token incentives can change as network rules evolve. If you are considering using VANA within an app, check that app’s current terms and the network’s documentation to understand what a contribution requires, what permissions it grants and how any reward is calculated.
## VANA Supply and Supported Networks
As of 2026-11-05, VANA’s reported circulating supply is about 30.8 million tokens, against a total and maximum supply of 120 million. These figures can change as tokens enter circulation, so check current supply information before relying on them. The maximum is a stated cap, not the amount currently available to trade. Token prices and market values also move frequently; a supply figure alone does not indicate what a token is worth.
VANA is native to the Vana blockchain. It is also reported as issued on Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Base, Arbitrum and Optimism. A token representation on another network may be bridged or otherwise distinct from the native asset, and it may not work in the same apps. Before sending or receiving VANA, confirm the network and token contract shown by the wallet or service you are using. Sending an asset to an incompatible network or address can make it difficult or impossible to recover.
## Risks to Understand
VANA carries the usual risks of a crypto asset: its price can change sharply, and you may lose some or all of the amount you spend. Demand for the token may depend on whether people use Vana’s network and data applications, but adoption and token value are not guaranteed. Incentive rules, network activity and the supply available to trade can also affect market conditions.
Vana’s data focus adds questions beyond token price. Contributors should understand what information they are sharing, what permissions they grant, how a DLP checks submissions and whether data can later be removed or reused. Data quality, consent and privacy practices can differ between applications. Technical risks can include software bugs, compromised accounts, validator or network problems, and failures in bridges or third-party services. Read the terms for the specific pool or app rather than assuming every project using Vana offers the same protections. This is general information, not a recommendation to buy or sell VANA.
## Storage and Wallet Safety
You can hold VANA in a wallet or service that supports the particular version and network you intend to use. For native VANA, check that the wallet supports the Vana blockchain; for tokens on Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Base, Arbitrum or Optimism, choose the matching network and verify the token details before transferring. Wallet support for one chain does not automatically mean support for every other chain where VANA is issued.
A self-custody wallet puts responsibility for the recovery phrase and signing decisions on you. Keep the recovery phrase private and offline, and never share it with a person or website claiming it is needed to release funds. Consider testing a new address or network with a small transfer before sending more. If you use a custodial platform, check its withdrawal, custody and network-support terms. Avoid unfamiliar token contracts and unsolicited links or messages, which can lead to loss of funds or wallet access.
By the numbers
Vana in numbers
Vana (VANA) is ranked #753 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $23.3M and a price of $0.7553 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $90.6M, so roughly 26% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 7.0% over 7 days, down 27.8% over 30 days, down 72.9% over the past year. It trades about 98% below its all-time high of $35.23, set on Dec 16, 2024.
About 30.8M VANA are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 120M (26% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $1.07M, or 4.6% of its market cap: moderate turnover.
VANA is the native token of Vana; it also has token contracts on 6 chains we track, including Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Base. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
