## What Is Thala (THL)?

Thala is a decentralized finance protocol built on Aptos. Its products include Move Dollar (MOD), an over-collateralized stablecoin; Thala Swap, an automated market maker for trading and liquidity pools; and a launchpad built on Thala Swap’s pool technology. THL is Thala’s governance token, not the stablecoin itself. MOD is designed to maintain a stable value and is backed by a basket of on-chain assets, while THL gives holders a role in protocol decision-making. The products are connected: for example, Thala Swap can support trading and liquidity involving MOD. Thala is part of the Aptos DeFi ecosystem, and THL is issued on Aptos. The token’s value and usefulness depend on factors such as participation in governance, demand for the protocol’s products, and conditions across the wider crypto market. THL does not represent a guaranteed claim on protocol revenue or a guaranteed stable value.

## What Is THL Used For?

THL is used for governance of the Thala protocol. Token holders can vote on proposals and changes affecting how the protocol operates. Decisions may cover parameters such as swap fees, vault interest rates and mint fees, as well as contract upgrades, treasury deployments, contributor compensation and audits. These decisions can affect users of Thala’s products, including MOD and Thala Swap, so governance participation can matter beyond the token itself. Public sources do not specify whether holders need to stake or delegate THL to vote, or how voting power is calculated; check the current governance rules before taking part. Governance rights are not the same as control over every outcome: proposals may depend on participation, voting thresholds and implementation conditions. THL’s main stated role is governance, so it should not be confused with MOD, which is Thala’s stablecoin, or treated as a token designed to hold a fixed price.

## THL Supply and Market Context

THL has a maximum supply of 100 million tokens. About 75.5 million were circulating out of that total as of 2026-11-05; circulating supply can change over time as tokens enter or leave circulation. Public sources do not establish a current release schedule, so they should not be used to infer when remaining tokens might become available. For context, THL’s price was about $0.0064 and its market capitalization about $484,000 on 2026-11-05. Reported 24-hour trading volume was about $122 at that time. These are snapshots, not fixed values, and low reported volume can make quoted prices less representative of the price available for a particular trade. Supply, market capitalization and trading activity can all change. A market-cap figure is not a measure of guaranteed value, and neither past prices nor supply figures indicate what THL may be worth in the future.

## THL on Aptos and Its Protocol Ecosystem

THL is issued on Aptos, so transactions and on-chain use of the token are associated with that blockchain. Thala’s products are also built around Aptos: MOD is an Aptos-native stablecoin, and Thala Swap is an automated market maker that supports different pool designs, including weighted and stable pools. The protocol’s launchpad uses liquidity bootstrapping pools built on Thala Swap. This places THL within a broader set of Aptos DeFi products, but it does not make THL interchangeable with MOD or with tokens used in those pools. Public sources identify Aptos as THL’s issuing chain and does not identify other chains where it is issued. If you plan to transfer THL, confirm that the receiving wallet or service supports the Aptos version of the token. Sending a token through an unsupported network or to an incompatible address can result in loss of access.

## Risks and How to Store THL

THL carries the risks of a volatile crypto asset. Its price can move sharply, and the low reported trading volume on 2026-11-05 may mean limited liquidity or wider differences between quoted and executable prices. Thala’s products also rely on smart contracts and governance decisions, which can be affected by coding errors, exploits, flawed proposals or changes to protocol parameters. MOD’s over-collateralized design does not remove risks related to collateral values, liquidity or the operation of its contracts. If you hold THL, use a wallet that supports Aptos and the token, and verify the network and receiving address before sending it. Keep your recovery phrase or private keys private and backed up securely; anyone who obtains them may be able to control your assets. Be cautious of impersonators asking for credentials or promising guaranteed returns. Consider whether you can afford a total loss before using or holding THL.

By the numbers

Thala in numbers

Thala (THL) is ranked #3,828 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $496K and a price of $0.006560 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $656K, so roughly 76% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was up 4.4% over 7 days, down 37.1% over 30 days, down 79.0% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $3.13, set on Mar 20, 2024.

About 75.59M THL are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 100M (76% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $102, or 0.0% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

THL has token contracts on Aptos. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

THL is linked to ThalaSwap, which we cover in our DEXes rankings. See our ThalaSwap page for how the protocol works and how we score it.
