## What Is StakeWise (SWISE)?
StakeWise (SWISE) is the governance token associated with StakeWise, a liquid Ethereum staking protocol. The protocol lets users stake ETH and represents deposits and staking rewards with separate tokens: sETH2 for deposits and rETH2 for rewards. Those tokens are distinct from SWISE. The project describes sETH2 and rETH2 as representing staked Ether in its pool at a 1:1 mapping to ETH; that does not mean SWISE itself is backed by ETH or can be redeemed for ETH.
This distinction matters if you are comparing tokens or using a wallet. SWISE is a protocol token, while sETH2 and rETH2 represent the deposit and reward sides of staking through StakeWise. SWISE is issued on Ethereum, according to public information. The protocol is focused on Ethereum staking rather than using SWISE as a token for Ethereum’s consensus or transaction fees.
## What Is SWISE Used For?
SWISE is publicly described as StakeWise’s governance token. Its role is therefore connected to participation in decisions about the protocol, rather than being the token users deposit to stake ETH. The exact governance process, including what proposals token holders can vote on and how votes are counted, depends on StakeWise’s current rules. Check the protocol’s current governance materials before assuming that holding SWISE gives you a particular decision-making power.
StakeWise also has an ecosystem around Ethereum staking, but public sources do not establish that SWISE automatically earns staking rewards, shares protocol revenue, or provides a claim on the protocol’s assets. Do not treat it as equivalent to sETH2 or rETH2, and do not assume that simply holding SWISE is the same as staking ETH. Its practical utility can depend on the protocol’s current features and governance arrangements, which may change.
## Supply and Blockchain
SWISE is issued on Ethereum; no other issuing chain is identified here. If you transfer or store it, use an Ethereum-compatible wallet or service that explicitly supports SWISE, and make sure any transaction is sent on the correct network. Sending tokens to an address or chain that does not support them can make recovery difficult or impossible.
As of 2026-11-05, the reported circulating supply was about 754.4 million SWISE, out of a total and maximum supply of 1 billion. These are supply figures, not a guarantee that every token is freely available to trade. As of the same date, the token’s price was about $0.0037 and its market capitalization about $2.8 million. Both figures can change quickly, and market capitalization is an estimate based on price and circulating supply. They should be treated as a snapshot, not a forecast or a measure of what you could sell a particular amount for.
## Risks and Storage
SWISE can be volatile, and a relatively small market can make trading less liquid or prices more sensitive to individual trades. A quoted market price or market capitalization does not guarantee that you can buy or sell at that value. The token may also face risks related to changes in StakeWise’s governance, protocol adoption, Ethereum, and the broader crypto market. Governance participation does not remove those risks.
For self-custody, keep SWISE in a wallet that supports Ethereum tokens and protect the wallet’s recovery phrase offline. Never share the phrase or sign a transaction you do not understand. Verify the token identity and network through reliable official StakeWise information before transferring or interacting with it; similarly named tokens can be impostors. A custodial platform adds risks tied to that provider, while self-custody leaves you responsible for protecting keys and avoiding mistaken transfers. This is general information, not a recommendation to buy or sell SWISE.
By the numbers
StakeWise in numbers
StakeWise (SWISE) is ranked #2,148 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $2.63M and a price of $0.003482 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $3.48M, so roughly 75% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was up 1.9% over 7 days, up 3.6% over 30 days, down 68.9% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $0.3584, set on Oct 27, 2021.
About 754.44M SWISE are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (75% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $20, or 0.0% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
SWISE has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
SWISE is linked to Stakewise V2, which we cover in our Staking Pool rankings. See our Stakewise V2 page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

SWISE FAQs
What is SWISE used for?
SWISE is described as StakeWise’s governance token. Its specific voting rights and governance process depend on the protocol’s current rules.
Is SWISE the same as sETH2 or rETH2?
No. SWISE is the protocol’s governance token, while sETH2 and rETH2 represent deposits and rewards in StakeWise’s liquid staking system. They have different roles and should not be treated as interchangeable.
What blockchain is SWISE on?
Public sources identify Ethereum as the chain where SWISE is issued. Use a wallet or service that supports Ethereum tokens, and confirm the network before transferring.
What is the supply of SWISE?
As of 2026-11-05, about 754.4 million SWISE were reported in circulation, with total and maximum supply of 1 billion. Supply figures can change, so treat these as a dated snapshot.
What are the risks of holding SWISE?
SWISE has market, custody, and protocol-related risks, and its price can change substantially. Store it only in a wallet that supports Ethereum tokens, protect your recovery phrase, and verify token details before sending.
What is the market cap of StakeWise?
As of Nov 6, 2026, StakeWise had a market cap of about $2.63M, ranking #2,148 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of SWISE?
StakeWise's all-time high is $0.3584, reached on Oct 27, 2021. Its all-time low is $0.002210 (Jul 4, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of SWISE?
As of Nov 6, 2026, about 754.44M SWISE were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 1B.
Which blockchains is SWISE on?
It has token contracts on Ethereum.
