## What is Boson Protocol?

Boson Protocol is infrastructure for exchanging goods and other assets through blockchain-based agreements. Its design uses redeemable NFTs, often called rNFTs, to represent a right to receive an item or service. The protocol aims to support exchanges involving physical goods, digital items and tokenised assets, including transactions between people and AI agents. Rather than treating an NFT only as a collectible, this approach connects a token to a commercial redemption process.

Boson describes its exchange mechanism as escrow-like: funds and the asset claim are handled through protocol rules intended to make a fair exchange possible. The project says a buyer should receive the item or recover their money if the exchange fails, but this should not be read as a guarantee against every dispute, seller failure or technical problem. BOSON is the protocol’s token, not the item being purchased and not a claim to ownership of Boson Protocol itself.

## What is BOSON used for?

BOSON is described as an economic and governance token for the Boson ecosystem. Public project information associates it with protocol governance, incentives for ecosystem participants and sharing in value created by the protocol. Public sources do not specify a complete, current schedule of token rewards or explain precisely how protocol revenue is allocated to tokenholders. A stated protocol fee should not be assumed to flow directly to BOSON holders.

The protocol’s intended use is to facilitate commerce, including offers, payment, settlement and dispute handling. Its agentic-commerce tools are presented as compatible with AI clients, as well as transactions involving human buyers and sellers. These are protocol capabilities and intended uses, not evidence that every transaction type or integration is broadly adopted. BOSON does not function as a general-purpose payment coin by definition, and holding it alone does not guarantee access to a particular product, service, yield or governance outcome.

## Supply, chains and market context

BOSON is issued on Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, Base and Arbitrum; it is not listed as the native token of any of these chains. The reported maximum and total supply are both 200 million BOSON, with about 169.6 million circulating as of November 5, 2026. Circulating supply can change as tokens enter circulation, so these figures should be checked against current project information before relying on them.

On November 5, 2026, BOSON traded at about $0.0167, with a market capitalization of about $2.8 million and fully diluted valuation of about $3.3 million. These are time-sensitive figures, not forecasts. BOSON’s reported historical high was $5.36 on April 9, 2021, and its low was about $0.0141 on November 2, 2026. Past prices do not indicate future performance, and a low market capitalization or trading volume can make prices more sensitive to individual trades.

## Risks and storing BOSON

BOSON carries the risks of a volatile cryptoasset as well as risks tied to the protocol’s adoption and technical design. If merchants, buyers or developers do not use Boson Protocol, demand for its token-related functions may remain limited. Governance and incentive arrangements can change, and tokenholders should review current rules rather than assume that participation provides income or control over every protocol decision.

The protocol’s smart contracts, redemption arrangements and any cross-chain tools may contain vulnerabilities or depend on third parties. A token on one network may not be interchangeable with a representation on another without the correct bridge or transfer process. For storage, use a wallet that supports the relevant EVM network and BOSON token contract, and confirm the network and contract details through official Boson channels before sending funds. Keep recovery phrases private and offline; sending tokens to an unsupported network or wrong address can result in permanent loss.

By the numbers

Boson in numbers

Boson (BOSON) is ranked #2,143 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $2.64M and a price of $0.0156 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $3.11M, so roughly 85% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 6.7% over 7 days, down 23.7% over 30 days, down 65.3% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $5.36, set on Apr 9, 2021.

About 169.6M BOSON are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 200M (85% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $44.2K, or 1.7% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

BOSON has token contracts on 5 chains we track, including Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, Base. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

BOSON is linked to Boson Protocol, which we cover in our Real-World Assets rankings. See our Boson Protocol page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

What is the BOSON token used for?

BOSON is described as a token for protocol governance, ecosystem incentives and sharing in value created by Boson Protocol. The exact current mechanisms and any revenue distribution should be checked in the project’s latest materials.

Which networks support BOSON?

BOSON is issued on Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, Base and Arbitrum. It is not the native token of these networks, so check the network and token contract before transferring it.

What is the total supply of BOSON?
