## What SPGION is
SPGION is Ondo’s tokenized version of S&P Global, the publicly traded company commonly identified by the stock ticker SPGI. The token is designed to give holders economic exposure similar to holding SPGI, including reinvestment of any dividends. It is not the same thing as buying the company’s shares through a traditional brokerage account, and the token’s terms determine what rights holders actually have. Do not assume that holding SPGION gives you shareholder voting rights or direct ownership of S&P Global shares.
Ondo describes its tokenized stocks as products that eligible non-U.S. retail and institutional users can mint and redeem around the clock on weekdays, with access to traditional exchange liquidity. Access is subject to additional restrictions. Before using the product, review Ondo’s current terms, eligibility requirements, and explanation of how the token relates to the underlying stock.
## What SPGION is used for
SPGION’s main stated purpose is to provide on-chain economic exposure to S&P Global. It may suit users who want a tokenized asset linked to a U.S.-listed stock and who can access Ondo’s product under its rules. It is not a general-purpose cryptocurrency: public sources do not describe SPGION as a payment token, governance token, or asset used to secure a blockchain.
Ondo says eligible users can mint and redeem its tokenized stocks 24 hours a day, five days a week, with access to traditional exchange liquidity. That does not mean every wallet holder can necessarily mint or redeem, or that trading is available in every country or at all times. Product access, fees, settlement, and redemption conditions can depend on jurisdiction and Ondo’s current terms. The token’s market price can also differ from the reference stock price, particularly when markets are closed or liquidity is limited. Check the live product documentation before relying on a specific feature.
## Supply and market figures
As of 2026-11-05, the reported circulating and total supply were both about 2,115.16 SPGION. No maximum supply was reported. The reported market capitalization and fully diluted valuation were each about $1.1 million, and the 24-hour trading volume was about $2,239. These are time-sensitive figures, not fixed features of the token.
The quoted price was about $508.78 on that date. A token’s price and market capitalization can change as the stock reference value, supply, demand, and trading conditions change. The circulating supply figure alone does not explain how tokens are minted, redeemed, backed, or distributed. To understand those details, consult Ondo’s current product terms and the token’s contract information. Avoid treating a supply figure or a quoted market price as proof of a claim on a particular number of company shares.
## Supported chains and storage
SPGION is reported as issued on Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana. It is not described as the native token of any of these networks. A token on one network is not automatically interchangeable with a version on another, so confirm the chain and contract address before sending or receiving it. Use contract details published through Ondo’s official product information rather than relying on a token name or ticker alone; unrelated assets can use similar names.
For self-custody, choose a wallet that supports the relevant network and token standard, and keep the recovery phrase offline and private. A transfer sent to an incompatible network or wrong address may be difficult or impossible to recover. If using a custodial platform, understand its withdrawal, custody, and redemption rules. Wallet possession does not by itself establish that you qualify to use Ondo’s minting or redemption services.
## Key risks to understand
SPGION carries risks beyond the price movements of S&P Global shares. The token depends on Ondo’s product structure, the arrangements behind the tokenized exposure, and the functioning of the relevant contracts and networks. The information available here does not specify all backing, custody, insolvency, or legal-claim details, so review the current official terms instead of assuming the token is equivalent to a share held in your own brokerage account.
Other risks include limited liquidity, price differences from the underlying stock, smart-contract or network failures, and changes to eligibility or redemption rules. Access is restricted in some circumstances, and availability can depend on where you live. Tokenized stock products are not available to everyone. Check applicable laws and product disclosures before using SPGION, and consider that you could lose value or face delays when trying to trade or redeem it.
