What PUMP is

PUMP is the token linked to Pump.fun, a Solana-based platform where anyone can create and trade a memecoin without paying to launch it. The platform became known for making token creation as simple as filling in a name, a ticker and an image. New tokens trade straight away against a bonding curve, a pricing formula that sets the price as people buy and sell, so there is no need to seed a liquidity pool first.

The flip side is that most tokens launched this way go nowhere. Our own listing for Pump.fun scores it 5.5 out of 10 and notes the high failure rate among launched tokens. PUMP is a different asset from the thousands of memecoins created on the site. It is the platform's own token, not one of the coins that users launch there.

As of 2026-11-05 PUMP ranks around 48th by market capitalization, at roughly $1.93 billion. Data providers tag it under several labels at once, including launchpad, meme, DEX, SocialFi and exchange-based tokens, which reflects how many roles the Pump.fun product plays.

What the token is used for

The public record on what PUMP does is thinner than its market profile suggests. It is the native token of the Pump.fun ecosystem, and data providers group it with launchpad, decentralized exchange and exchange-based tokens. Our data does not include a project description or a detailed utility specification, so we will not guess at specific rights such as fee sharing, governance or buybacks.

What can be said is that PUMP is a tradable token on Solana that represents exposure to the fortunes of the Pump.fun platform in the market's eyes. Whether holding it gives any formal claim on platform revenue, voting power or discounts is something to confirm in the project's own documentation and announcements before relying on it.

A useful habit with any platform token is to separate three things: what the token technically does on-chain, what the team has said it intends to do, and what traders hope it will do. Only the first is certain. The other two can change, and price moves often reflect hope more than function.

Supply and tokenomics

The maximum supply is 1 trillion PUMP. As of 2026-11-05, about 459 billion tokens are circulating, which is roughly 46% of the maximum. Total supply is about 824 billion. The data we have does not explain the gap between total and maximum supply, so we do not describe it.

At a price of about $0.0042, the circulating market cap is around $1.93 billion. The fully diluted valuation, which prices in the whole total supply, is around $3.47 billion. That difference matters. A large share of tokens is not yet in free circulation, and if more of them are released over time, the amount available to trade grows. This can add selling pressure, though the timing and size of any release depend on schedules we cannot verify from our data.

Anyone reading valuation figures should look at both market cap and FDV, and check the published allocation and release schedule for team, investors, community and ecosystem allocations. Daily trading volume was about $145 million at the time of writing.

Chains and how it is held and traded

PUMP is issued on Solana, and our data lists no chain for which it is the native coin. It is a standard Solana token, so it sits in Solana wallets alongside SOL and other tokens, and moves quickly with low network fees compared with many other chains.

In general terms, it can be held in a self-custody wallet that supports Solana, or left on a centralized exchange that lists it. Trading happens in two main places: centralized exchanges, where you deposit funds and trade an order book, and Solana decentralized exchanges, where you swap straight from your wallet through liquidity pools or aggregators. The token's market data shows active volume, so it is not especially hard to find a venue, but the available pairs and depth vary by platform.

When you buy on a decentralized exchange, always confirm the token's contract address from an official source. Fake tokens with identical names and tickers are common on Solana, and a copycat can look convincing in a search result.

History and notable events

Pump.fun was reported to have launched in 2024 as a Solana memecoin platform, and early coverage also mentioned the Blast network. The PUMP token arrived later. News reports from July 2025 described it being offered to the public through an initial coin offering, with the sale scheduled for July 12 of that year.

According to our data, PUMP reached its all-time high of about $0.0088 on 2025-09-14. It then fell, hitting an all-time low of about $0.00115 on 2026-06-25. As of 2026-11-05 the price is around $0.0042, which is roughly half the peak and more than three times the low. Over the past seven days it moved about -1.9%, and over one year about +11.8%.

That path shows how volatile a token tied to memecoin activity can be. Its fortunes depend heavily on whether people keep launching and trading memecoins on the platform, which tends to rise and fall with wider market mood. This is a description of past data, not a forecast.

Risks to understand

The main risk is volatility. A drop from the high to the low of more than 85% within roughly nine months, as the data shows, is the kind of swing holders should be ready for. The token also depends on one product, so a decline in memecoin interest, a rival launchpad or a change in platform rules could hurt it.

Supply is another factor. With only part of the total supply circulating, future releases could weigh on the price. Regulatory risk matters too. Memecoin platforms have drawn attention from authorities in various places, and the rules on token sales and on what users can launch differ by country.

There are also scam risks around the platform. Many launched tokens fail, and fake PUMP tokens and phishing sites exist. If you take part in speculative trading, you must be 18 or older, or 21 or older where local law requires it, and you should check that it is legal where you live. Never put in money you cannot afford to lose. Nothing here is investment advice.

How to store it safely

For long-term holding, a self-custody Solana wallet gives you control of your keys, while an exchange account leaves custody with the exchange. A hardware wallet paired with a Solana wallet app adds a layer of protection, because signing happens on a device that is not connected to your browser.

Write your recovery phrase on paper, store it offline, and never type it into a website, chat or support form. No legitimate team will ask for it. Consider keeping a small balance in a day-to-day wallet and the rest in a separate one that you rarely connect to apps.

Before signing any transaction, read what it asks permission to do. Many Solana drains work by getting you to approve a malicious transfer. Be careful with links from social media, direct messages and airdrop offers, and type or bookmark addresses you trust. Check the token's contract address against the project's official channels, and keep a little SOL for network fees so you can move or sell the token when you need to.

By the numbers

Pump.fun in numbers

Pump.fun (PUMP) is ranked #51 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $1.82B and a price of $0.003971 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $3.27B, so roughly 56% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 3.0% over 7 days, down 39.8% over 30 days, up 0.9% over the past year. It trades about 55% below its all-time high of $0.008819, set on Sep 14, 2025.

About 459.19B PUMP are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1T (46% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $159M, or 8.7% of its market cap: high turnover.

PUMP has token contracts on Solana. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

PUMP is linked to pump.fun, which we cover in our Meme rankings. See our pump.fun page for how the protocol works and how we score it.
