What Liquity and LQTY are
LQTY is the secondary token of Liquity, a decentralized borrowing protocol on Ethereum. Liquity lets users take out loans in LUSD, a USD-pegged stablecoin, using ether (ETH) as collateral. The loans carry no interest rate, and a position needs a minimum collateral ratio of 110% to stay open. According to the project description, LQTY is designed to capture fee revenue generated by the protocol through staking. The protocol itself is described as non-custodial, immutable and governance-free, so the token is not a vote on how the system changes. Some third-party write-ups describe LQTY as a governance token too, which does not match the project's own description, so readers should treat that claim with caution and check the current project documentation before relying on it.
What the token is used for
According to the project description, LQTY's main purpose is to share in the fee revenue the Liquity protocol earns. Holders can stake LQTY to receive a share of those fees. The fee income comes from the protocol's borrowing activity, so the token's value to stakers depends on how much the protocol is used over time. Staking rewards and distribution rules are documented by the project, and those details can change between versions, so the exact mechanics for a given version should be checked in the official docs. Liquity V1 is the version most commonly described in sources. Because the token's utility rests on fee income rather than on a clear product roadmap, its usefulness depends heavily on sustained lending demand for LUSD on the protocol.
Supply and market data
At the time of writing, using data dated 2026-11-05, LQTY traded at about $0.185 with a market capitalization of about $18.3 million, ranked around 897th by market value. The circulating supply was about 98.9 million tokens, against a total and maximum supply of 100 million, so nearly all of the supply is already in circulation. Over the past year the price fell by about 60 percent, and over the past seven days it was down about 2 percent. The all-time high was about $146.94 on 2021-04-05, and the all-time low was about $0.153 on 2026-07-20. These figures change constantly and are shown only as a snapshot, not as a forecast. Trading volume over the prior 24 hours was about $1.2 million.
Chains and where it exists
Liquity's LQTY token is issued on Ethereum and Arbitrum, according to public information. It is not listed as the native token of any blockchain. Liquity itself runs on Ethereum, where the core contracts handle ETH collateral and LUSD loans. Holding or staking LQTY on Arbitrum depends on which version and bridged form of the token a user has, so readers should confirm the correct contract address and network before moving funds. Mixing up networks is a common way for people to send tokens to the wrong place. Public sources list the token under categories such as decentralized finance and under the Ethereum and Arbitrum ecosystems, which reflects where it is used rather than any endorsement of its quality.
Risks and storage
LQTY carries several risks that readers should weigh before doing anything with it. The price is volatile and has fallen sharply from its 2021 peak, and a small market value means it can move a lot on modest trading. Borrowers face liquidation risk: if collateral falls below the required ratio, it can be sold to repay the loan, and the protocol is designed around that process. Smart contract risk is also real, since the protocol is immutable and code bugs cannot be patched in the usual way. Token holders depend on continued borrowing activity to earn fees. To store LQTY, use a wallet you control, keep your seed phrase offline, confirm the token contract on the right network, and never share private keys. Nothing here is investment advice, and anyone considering a purchase should do their own research.
By the numbers
Liquity in numbers
Liquity (LQTY) is ranked #897 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $17.7M and a price of $0.1787 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($17.9M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 4.5% over 7 days, down 25.7% over 30 days, down 66.3% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $146.94, set on Apr 5, 2021.
About 98.85M LQTY are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 100M (99% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $4.37M, or 25% of its market cap: high turnover.
LQTY has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, Arbitrum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
LQTY is linked to Liquity, which we cover in our CDPs rankings. See our Liquity page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

LQTY FAQs
What is LQTY used for?
According to the project description, LQTY captures a share of the fee revenue generated by the Liquity protocol when holders stake it. It is not used to borrow LUSD, which is the stablecoin paid out by the protocol. Staking mechanics can differ between versions, so the official documentation is the best place to check current details.
Is Liquity the same as LQTY?
Liquity is a decentralized borrowing protocol on Ethereum that lets users take out interest-free loans in LUSD against ETH collateral. The loans need a minimum collateral ratio of 110%. LQTY is the separate token that shares the protocol's fee income with stakers.
What is the price of LQTY?
Approximately $0.185 at the time of writing, using data dated 2026-11-05. Prices move constantly, so the figure is a snapshot and not a forecast. Check a live market data source for the current value before making any decisions.
What is the total supply of LQTY?
The data shows a total and maximum supply of 100 million tokens, with about 98.9 million in circulation as of 2026-11-05. That means very little supply remains to be released. Supply figures should still be checked against the project's current documentation.
Which blockchains does LQTY run on?
Sources list LQTY as issued on Ethereum and Arbitrum. Confirm the correct network and contract address before sending or staking tokens, because sending to the wrong chain can result in lost funds.
Do I need to be a certain age to use DeFi lending protocols?
Readers must be 18 or older, or 21 where local rules require it, and should check that online gambling is legal where they live. This page does not involve gambling, but DeFi lending can still carry losses from liquidation and price moves. Nothing here is investment advice.
What is the market cap of Liquity?
As of Nov 6, 2026, Liquity had a market cap of about $17.7M, ranking #897 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of LQTY?
Liquity's all-time high is $146.94, reached on Apr 5, 2021. Its all-time low is $0.1535 (Jul 20, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of LQTY?
As of Nov 6, 2026, about 98.85M LQTY were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 100M.
Which blockchains is LQTY on?
