What Is Hyperlane?
Hyperlane is an open-source, permissionless protocol for communication between blockchains. It is designed to let applications send messages and transfer tokens across networks that would otherwise operate separately. Developers can use it to build interchain applications, including asset bridges, cross-chain governance tools and DeFi services.
The project describes Hyperlane as connecting more than 170 blockchains and supporting five or more virtual machines. Its permissionless approach means developers can deploy or use the framework without relying on a single central operator to approve every connection. That does not mean every route or application has identical security: users should check the specific bridge or dApp they plan to use, its supported networks and its own security arrangements.
HYPER is the project’s token. It is associated with the Hyperlane ecosystem, but the project description available here does not specify a definitive set of token functions. In particular, it is not enough to assume that HYPER is required for every transfer, or that it provides governance rights or staking rewards.
How Hyperlane Is Used
Hyperlane provides infrastructure for apps that need to communicate across chains. In practical terms, one application can send information from one blockchain to another, and a receiving application can act on that message. A bridge may use this kind of messaging to coordinate a token transfer, while other applications may use it for cross-chain governance or DeFi activity.
Hyperlane is a framework rather than a single standalone bridge with one fixed interface. Builders can use its interoperability tools to create applications and connections for different blockchain environments. For users, the experience depends on the particular dApp or bridge: supported networks, available assets, transfer steps and fees can differ between services.
Cross-chain messaging does not remove the risks of interacting with multiple blockchains. A transfer may depend on the source chain, the message system, the destination chain and the application that handles the message. Check the network and token details before confirming a transaction, and avoid assuming that a familiar asset name represents the same token on every chain.
HYPER Token and Supply
HYPER is the token associated with Hyperlane, but public sources do not clearly define specific token utility. It does not confirm that HYPER is needed to pay protocol fees, used for staking, or grants holders governance rights. Those functions should not be inferred from the fact that a project has a token; check current official project materials for any confirmed utility or changes.
As of 2026-11-05, the reported circulating supply was about 338.2 million HYPER, out of a total supply of about 811.3 million. The maximum supply is 1 billion HYPER. Circulating supply is the portion reported as available in circulation; it is not the same as total or maximum supply, and the figures can change over time as tokens are distributed or otherwise enter circulation.
The reported price was about $0.060 on that date, with a market capitalization of about $20.3 million and fully diluted valuation of about $48.6 million. These are time-sensitive market estimates, not guarantees of value. They can change quickly and should not be treated as a forecast or a reason to buy or sell.
Chains and Token Transfers
HYPER is listed as issued on Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Base, Ethereum and Optimism. Public sources do not identify any of these as a native chain for HYPER, so users should not assume that a token on one network can be sent directly to another. Cross-chain transfers generally require a compatible bridge or application, and the exact supported routes depend on the service being used.
Before sending HYPER, verify the destination network, token contract and receiving wallet support. A wrong-network transfer or an unsupported token representation can make funds difficult or impossible to recover. If using a bridge, review the source and destination details shown in the transaction and confirm that the receiving application accepts the asset.
The protocol’s broad network support is useful for developers building applications across chains, but support for a blockchain does not mean every asset, wallet or dApp is supported there. Availability can also change as integrations are added or removed. Use the current information from the specific application and network rather than relying only on a general list of Hyperlane-connected chains.
Risks and Storage
Hyperlane and HYPER carry risks common to cross-chain infrastructure and crypto assets. Messages and transfers can depend on several systems, including the source and destination blockchains, the application, and the way the relevant connection is configured. Bugs, compromised infrastructure, incorrect transactions or failures at any layer can result in delays or loss of funds. Permissionless access also means users should assess each application and route rather than treating the protocol’s overall reach as a guarantee of safety.
HYPER’s market price can be volatile, and its circulating supply is smaller than its stated maximum supply. Market values and supply figures change; the figures above are only a snapshot as of 2026-11-05. Do not rely on past performance or market estimates as predictions.
For storage, use a reputable wallet that supports the network where your HYPER is held. Keep recovery phrases and private keys offline and private, check the network before receiving or sending tokens, and consider a hardware wallet for longer-term self-custody. A wallet secures access credentials; it does not protect against protocol, bridge, market or user-error risks.
By the numbers
Hyperlane in numbers
Hyperlane (HYPER) is ranked #842 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $19.5M and a price of $0.0576 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $46.7M, so roughly 42% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 0.9% over 7 days, down 16.9% over 30 days, down 64.2% over the past year. It trades about 91% below its all-time high of $0.6641, set on Jul 10, 2025.
About 338.17M HYPER are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (34% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $1.91M, or 9.8% of its market cap: high turnover.
HYPER has token contracts on 5 chains we track, including Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Base, Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
