How Project 0 and Save differ

Project 0 and Save both offer lending on Solana, but their borrowing models differ. Project 0’s central feature is Unified Borrow: it aims to let users borrow against a portfolio spread across multiple venues, rather than relying on collateral held in one market. Its Markets page also separates Lend and Unified Borrow views and shows APY, weight and total deposits.

Save uses a more familiar money-market structure. Users deposit assets to earn interest, then can use deposits as collateral to borrow other assets. Its dashboard separates pools and displays asset-level deposit and borrow APRs, LTV information and pool activity. Save also operates on Eclipse, while Project 0 is listed on Solana only. Choose Project 0 for its cross-venue borrowing approach; choose Save for pool-based lending and borrowing.

Fees and rates

Neither protocol publishes a fee schedule. Project 0 shows live APY and liquidity for each asset on its Markets page, but does not state protocol fees, liquidation penalties or Solana transaction fees. Save displays deposit APR and borrow APR by asset. Its protocol fees, including any share of interest or liquidation penalties, should be checked in its documentation and Revenue page. Users also pay normal Solana network transaction fees when interacting with Save.

Rates are not the same as fees: an APR or APY indicates a lending or borrowing rate, while a fee schedule would explain other charges. Before using either protocol, check the current market or pool details and relevant documentation. Do not assume that a displayed rate covers every cost, or that rates will remain unchanged.

Safety and risks

Save lists two audits, but audit details are not published here. Project 0 has no audits listed, and its site’s Audits link does not make audit coverage publicly confirmable. That makes Save the clearer choice on listed audit coverage, but an audit does not guarantee that funds are safe.

Both protocols carry smart-contract, oracle and liquidation risks. Project 0’s cross-venue model adds exposure to the risks of each venue involved. Save’s on-chain pools can also be affected by bugs or oracle failures, and borrowers may be liquidated if collateral prices fall. Save shows permissionless liquidations and pool-level outflow limits. A single unverified public forum claim describes losses in one Save pool; it is not proof of a wider issue, but reinforces the need to assess pools individually. Deposit only what you can afford to lose.

Features and user experience

Project 0 lists markets for SOL, WBTC, ETH, cbBTC and xBTC, with asset weights shown on its homepage. Its navigation also includes Strategies, Vaults, Stake, Pay and Portfolio, though details for several of these features are not public. The breadth may appeal if you want more than basic lending in one app, but some product details remain unclear.

Save’s visible feature set centers on multiple lending pools, collateralized borrowing and saveSOL liquid staking. Its interface also has Rewards, Revenue and Security sections, and displays pool outflow limits. Project 0 has no protocol token listed; Save lists SAVE. Public sources do not establish the token’s specific utility, so do not treat its presence as a reason to expect a particular benefit.

Which protocol should you choose?

Pick Project 0 if your main need is its distinctive idea: borrowing against a portfolio held across multiple venues. Its broader app menu and listed collateral assets may also suit users looking for several DeFi products in one place. The trade-off is a short track record, no confirmed audit coverage, and additional risk from the venues involved in cross-venue borrowing.

Pick Save if you prefer conventional pool-based lending and borrowing, want asset-level rates displayed, or value its longer-running history and two listed audits. It has higher TVL and a higher ease-of-use score, but neither is a guarantee of safety or performance. Save also has liquidation and pool-level risks, and its fees are not published. For either protocol, compare live rates and pool conditions, review security details, and size positions cautiously.

Verdict: Project 0 or Save?

Choose Project 0 if you specifically want to borrow against a portfolio spread across venues. Its multi-asset markets and wider product menu are appealing, but its short track record and unconfirmed audit coverage call for caution. Choose Save if you want a more conventional lending market with separate pools, displayed asset rates, two listed audits and a longer-running history. Save has more TVL, but that does not remove pool, oracle or liquidation risk. Neither protocol publishes a fee schedule, so check current rates and pool details before using either.

Frequently asked questions

Which protocol has more TVL?

Save has about $76.2 million in TVL, compared with about $56.8 million for Project 0. TVL is not a measure of safety, and both protocols carry lending and liquidation risks.

Which protocol has more published audit coverage?

Save lists two audits, while Project 0 has no audits listed and its audit coverage cannot be confirmed. Audits do not eliminate smart-contract, oracle or market risk.

Which is better for borrowing against multiple positions?

Project 0’s Unified Borrow is designed to let users borrow against a portfolio spread across venues. Save offers collateralized borrowing through separate pools.

Are fees published for Project 0 or Save?

Neither publishes a fee schedule. Both show current asset rates in their market interfaces, so check those rates and the relevant documentation before depositing or borrowing.
