What Velvet is
Velvet (VELVET) is the token connected to Velvet Capital, a non-custodial social trading terminal. According to the project's own description, the product covers spot trading, perpetual futures and yield strategies across many chains, including Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Solana, Hyperliquid, Ink, Monad and Sonic. Trades are placed from the user's own wallet and routed through aggregated DEX liquidity, with MEV protection and order types such as limit orders and take-profit/stop-loss.
The platform has a social layer and an AI layer. The social side includes a wallet tracker for following well-known traders and smart-money flows. The AI side is a trading agent meant to help with token research and onchain analysis. On our site the issuing project is listed as Velvet V3, a yield aggregator that scores 6.8 out of 10, described as a non-custodial social trading and yield terminal running on Base, Ethereum and BNB Chain.
Data providers place VELVET in the DeFi and AI categories, and also under the DeFAI label, which refers to AI tools applied to decentralized finance. It ranked around 749 by market capitalization as of 2026-11-05, which makes it a small-cap token.
What the token is used for
The public information we have points to governance as the main role. A descriptive source dated August 2026 says a vote-escrowed form, veVELVET, works as the governance token for the Velvet DAO. Its decisions are said to include new integrations and how fees are distributed. In a vote-escrow design, holders typically lock tokens for a period to receive voting weight, though the exact lock lengths and reward rules should be confirmed in the project's own documentation.
Beyond governance and fee-related decisions, the public information available to us do not say what else VELVET does. In particular, we have no confirmation that holding the token is required to use the trading terminal, that it gives discounted fees, or that it pays out revenue. Do not assume any of those features exist unless the official docs state them.
It is also worth separating the product from the token. A trading terminal can attract users without the token's price following usage. How much value the token captures depends on what the DAO decides and how fees are actually routed, which can change by vote.
Supply and tokenomics
VELVET has a total and maximum supply of 1 billion tokens, so no further minting beyond that cap is indicated in the data. About 463.8 million tokens, roughly 46 percent, were circulating as of 2026-11-05.
At the time of writing the price was about $0.051. That gives a market capitalization of about $23.8 million, based on circulating supply, and a fully diluted valuation of about $51.3 million, based on all 1 billion tokens. The gap between the two figures matters: it shows that a little over half the supply was not yet circulating. Tokens that are not yet circulating usually enter the market through vesting schedules or emissions, which can add selling pressure.
The data we have does not include the allocation split between team, investors, community and treasury, nor the vesting schedule. We will not guess at them. Anyone researching the token should look for the official tokenomics page and, where possible, check release schedules against onchain vesting contracts.
Trading volume over 24 hours was about $2.9 million as of 2026-11-05, which is modest next to the market cap and suggests that large orders could move the price.
Chains, holding and trading
VELVET is issued on two networks, BNB Chain and Base. It is not the native gas token of any blockchain, so it cannot be used to pay network fees. Both networks are EVM-compatible, so the token can be held in any common EVM wallet, such as a browser wallet, a mobile wallet or a hardware wallet that supports those chains.
On the trading side, tokens like this generally trade on decentralized exchanges on the chain where they are issued, and on centralized exchanges if they have been listed. One of public reporting refers to a listing on the Bybit exchange, and the token is also tagged as a Binance Wallet IDO, which indicates a launch route tied to the Binance ecosystem. Listings and trading pairs change, so check which exchanges currently support it.
Because the token exists on two chains, make sure you know which version you hold before sending anything. Sending a token to an address on the wrong network can mean the funds are lost or hard to recover. Bridging between chains adds a further layer of smart contract risk, so use only the bridges the project itself recommends.
History and notable events
The launch date is not given in our data, so we will not state one. Data providers classify the token under the YZi Labs portfolio, the investment arm formerly known as Binance Labs, and as a Binance Wallet IDO. Those tags point to backing and distribution connected to the Binance ecosystem, though they do not say anything about how the project will perform.
Recorded price extremes show how volatile it has been. The all-time low was about $0.0413 on 2025-07-10, and the all-time high was about $2.08 on 2026-06-29. A search result dated the same day describes an integration meant to let users trade the token with lower slippage and fees across several decentralized exchanges, but we cannot confirm how much that contributed to the price move.
Since the peak, the price has fallen sharply. As of 2026-11-05 it was down about 75 percent over one year and about 14 percent over seven days, and it was trading not far above the all-time low. The project's own history also stretches back before the token: a 2024 article describes Velvet as a portfolio-management and DeFi-access product, and the current description is a broader social and AI trading terminal.
Risks to understand
Price volatility. A move from about $0.04 to about $2.08 and back to about $0.05 shows how large the swings can be. Anyone holding the token can lose most of its value.
Thin liquidity. With daily volume of about $2.9 million, larger trades can cause noticeable slippage. A search result about recent price action also cites weak liquidity as a factor in a decline.
Supply overhang. More than half of the total supply was not circulating as of 2026-11-05. Future releases could weigh on the price, and we have no vesting data to judge the timing.
Unclear token value capture. Governance and fee decisions are the only roles we can confirm. The token's link to the platform's revenue is unverified.
Smart contract and platform risk. The terminal connects to many chains, DEXs and perpetual venues. Each integration adds code that could contain bugs or be exploited, and non-custodial does not mean risk-free. AI research tools can also produce wrong or misleading output.
Competition. Social trading and DeFAI is a crowded area, and adoption is not guaranteed.

How to store VELVET safely
Because VELVET is an ordinary token on BNB Chain and Base, it can be stored in a self-custody wallet that supports those networks. For a larger holding, a hardware wallet gives stronger protection, since the private keys stay on the device. Write down your recovery phrase offline and never type it into a website, a chat or an AI tool.
Before buying or interacting, confirm the token's contract address from the project's official channels. Fake tokens with copied names and symbols are common on both chains, particularly after a price spike. Do not trust a contract address sent in a direct message or posted in a comment.
Watch token approvals. When you connect to a trading terminal or a DEX, you may grant permission for a contract to spend your tokens. Review and revoke approvals you no longer need, and consider keeping a separate wallet for active trading with only the funds you plan to use there, while a different wallet holds longer-term assets.
If you leave tokens on an exchange, you rely on that company's security and withdrawal policies. Understand that trade-off, and send a small test transaction first when moving funds to a new address or network.
