## What USDtb is
USDtb (USDTB) is a dollar-pegged stablecoin associated with the Ethena ecosystem. Its intended value is about one US dollar per token, rather than a price that moves freely like Bitcoin or Ether. It is a separate asset from Tether’s USDT, despite the similar ticker. USDtb is issued on Ethereum and Solana, so holders can use it as a digital dollar on those networks, subject to each network’s fees and operating conditions.
Public descriptions associate USDtb’s issuance with Anchorage Digital Bank and say its reserves have exposure to BlackRock’s USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL). That does not mean BlackRock issues or guarantees USDtb. The token is not a deposit in a personal bank account, and its target price is not a promise that every holder can redeem directly on identical terms. Before using it, check the current issuer and redemption terms and distinguish USDtb from other tokens with similar symbols.
## What USDtb is used for
USDtb is designed to track the US dollar, so its main purpose is to provide a less volatile unit of value for crypto transactions and holdings. People may use dollar stablecoins to move funds between supported wallets or exchanges, hold value between trades, or interact with decentralized finance applications. Whether USDtb is accepted depends on the particular platform, network and market; its presence on Ethereum and Solana does not mean every dApp supports it.
The token’s dollar target is a goal, not a guarantee that its market price will always equal exactly $1. Prices can move away from the peg when liquidity is thin, confidence changes, or market access is disrupted. As of 2026-11-05, the reported price was about $1.00. A price close to a dollar at one moment does not establish that the token will remain there or that it can be redeemed by every holder at par. Check live market conditions and the issuer’s current terms before relying on USDtb for payments or as collateral.
## Reserves and backing
USDtb’s backing is a key part of its design. Public descriptions associate its reserves with BlackRock’s BUIDL fund, a tokenized fund holding short-term US government securities and cash-like assets, and identify Anchorage Digital Bank in connection with issuance. Reserve composition, custody arrangements and redemption access can change, so readers should consult current official disclosures rather than assume that every token is backed by a specific asset in a fixed proportion. A fund holding government securities is not the same as cash instantly available to every token holder.
Ethena’s Risk Committee approved USDtb as a backing asset for the Ethena system, with the stated aim of helping manage risk when funding rates are negative. This is a role within that system, not a guarantee of USDtb’s price or a promise of yield to ordinary holders. Reserve, issuer, custodian, banking and smart-contract risks remain relevant. Do not treat the association with a major asset manager as an endorsement, insurance policy or guarantee of repayment.
## Supply and tokenomics
USDtb does not have a known maximum supply limit or a mining process. Its supply is associated with issuance and redemption: tokens may be created or removed as eligible participants mint or redeem them under the issuer’s terms. The precise process, eligibility rules, fees and timing should be checked in current official materials. These details matter because a stablecoin’s supply mechanism and access to redemption help support its market peg.
As of 2026-11-05, reported circulating and total supply were both about 417.3 million USDTB, with no maximum supply figure reported. Its market capitalization was about $417.1 million on that date. These are snapshots, not fixed tokenomics, and can change as tokens are issued, redeemed or market prices move. USDtb does not offer a built-in staking reward simply by being held. Any interest or promotional incentive offered by a separate exchange or dApp is distinct from the token itself and may carry additional conditions and risks.
## Chains and how it is traded
USDtb is issued on Ethereum and Solana. On Ethereum, transfers and contract interactions generally require ETH for network fees; on Solana, they generally require SOL. A token on one chain is not automatically the same on another chain from a practical standpoint: verify the network and token contract before sending or receiving, and use only a bridge or exchange route you understand. Sending USDtb to an unsupported network or address can result in loss of access.
The token may be available through centralized exchanges, decentralized exchanges, or DeFi applications, but availability and liquidity vary by venue and chain. As of 2026-11-05, reported 24-hour trading volume was about $170,000, a figure that can change and may not represent liquidity on every market. A quoted price does not ensure that a large trade can be completed near that price. Compare the network, contract address, fees, available liquidity and platform terms before transacting.
## History and notable events
USDtb launched in December 2024, according to public project descriptions. It was introduced as an Ethena-associated stablecoin with exposure to tokenized government-fund assets. In December 2024, Ethena’s Risk Committee approved USDtb as a backing asset for the Ethena system, citing its potential role in managing risk during periods of negative funding rates. This helps explain why USDtb has relevance beyond being a dollar-denominated token, although the specific role it plays can change over time.
Reported market history shows that USDtb has not traded at exactly one dollar at every moment. As of 2026-11-05, its reported all-time high was about $1.057 on 2025-09-20, and its reported all-time low was about $0.901 on 2025-07-17. Historical extremes are not forecasts, and they do not explain on their own what caused each move. Stablecoin users should assess current reserve disclosures, redemption arrangements, liquidity and market conditions rather than relying on past price behavior.
## Risks and safe storage
USDtb carries the risks common to reserve-backed stablecoins. The market price can fall below its target if confidence or liquidity weakens. Reserve assets may be exposed to market, custody, banking and operational risks, while redemption may be limited by eligibility requirements, delays, fees or service availability. The token also depends on its issuer and on the Ethereum or Solana networks, and smart-contract or bridge failures can affect access. Public association with an established financial institution or asset manager does not remove these risks.
For self-custody, use a wallet that supports the exact network and token, protect the recovery phrase offline, and never share it or sign transactions you do not understand. Confirm the contract address from a trusted official source, test a small transfer when appropriate, and beware of lookalike tokens. Exchange custody may be simpler, but it adds platform and account-access risks. Stablecoins are not risk-free cash, and users should avoid holding more than they can afford to lose access to.
