## What is USD CoinVertible (USDCV)?

USD CoinVertible (USDCV) is a U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by SG-FORGE, the digital-asset arm of Société Générale. Its stated aim is to maintain a value of one U.S. dollar per token, rather than to rise in price like a typical cryptocurrency. SG-FORGE describes it as fiat-backed and fully redeemable, with reserves held in segregated accounts under independent custody and disclosed daily. It also says USDCV is compliant with EU MiCA rules. These features describe the issuer’s design and disclosures; they do not remove the possibility of delays, access limits or a temporary loss of the dollar peg. USDCV is intended for digital-asset users and institutions that need a dollar-denominated token for on-chain activity. It is not the same as a deposit in a bank account, and holders should review the issuer’s current redemption terms and eligibility requirements before relying on redemption.

## What is USDCV used for?

USDCV is designed to represent dollars on a blockchain, allowing holders to transfer dollar value without sending a conventional bank payment for every transaction. The issuer identifies uses including around-the-clock on-chain settlement, cross-border payments, foreign-exchange activity, cash management, and integration with decentralized finance and institutional workflows. In practice, whether a particular use is available depends on the exchange, wallet, application, and jurisdiction involved. A stablecoin’s dollar target can make it useful for moving between crypto assets or holding a blockchain-based dollar balance, but it does not guarantee that every platform will accept USDCV or that a holder can redeem at any moment. USDCV is not a governance or gas token for a blockchain network. It does not give holders a claim to network rewards simply by holding it. Its central function is to provide a token intended to track the U.S. dollar, backed and administered through SG-FORGE’s issuance and redemption arrangements.

## Supply, price and supported chains

USDCV is issued on Ethereum according to public information. SG-FORGE’s description also names Solana as a launch network, but the chain information identifies Ethereum; confirm that USDCV is supported on the specific network and service you plan to use before transferring tokens. Sending a token to an incompatible network or address can result in loss of access. As of 2026-11-05, the reported circulating and total supply were both about 21.9 million USDCV, with no maximum supply specified. Supply can change as tokens are issued or redeemed. At that same date, the reported price was about $0.9995, close to its intended one-dollar peg. These are snapshots, not guarantees of future supply or value. Market price can move slightly above or below one dollar, and trading liquidity may differ by venue. The token’s intended price stability does not mean its market price is fixed at exactly $1.

## Risks and how to store USDCV

USDCV carries issuer, reserve, custody, regulatory, market-liquidity and technology risks. The dollar peg depends on the issuer’s ability to maintain its reserve and redemption arrangements, and on market participants being able to trade or redeem the token. A temporary or lasting depeg is possible. A change in laws, service availability, or redemption eligibility may affect particular holders. On-chain transfers also carry risks: transactions are generally difficult to reverse, and mistakes with addresses, networks or compromised devices can lead to losses. To store USDCV, use a reputable wallet that supports the correct network and verify the token’s official contract details through SG-FORGE before receiving or sending it. Keep recovery phrases private and offline, and beware of imitation tokens and unsolicited support messages. Holding USDCV in a hosted exchange account means relying on that service’s custody and withdrawal policies; holding it in a self-custody wallet means you are responsible for protecting access. Neither approach removes the stablecoin’s underlying issuer and reserve risks.
