## What is StakeStone (STO)?
StakeStone (STO) is the protocol’s governance token. StakeStone builds liquidity infrastructure for moving and deploying crypto assets across blockchain networks, including yield-bearing ETH and BTC products and its LiquidityPad platform. STO is distinct from STONE, SBTC and STONEBTC: those are separate assets in StakeStone’s product suite, not alternate names for STO. Public descriptions identify STO as a way to take part in protocol governance, including through a veSTO model for users who lock tokens. Public sources do not specify the exact voting rules, lock periods or which decisions token holders can control, so check the current protocol documentation before assuming what a vote gives you. STO is not itself an ETH staking receipt or a claim on the yield generated by StakeStone’s other assets.
## What is STO used for?
The clearest stated role for STO is governance: holders may be able to participate in decisions about StakeStone through the protocol’s governance process. Some public descriptions refer to locking STO to receive veSTO, but public sources do not establish the current terms, benefits or voting power of that arrangement. STO should not be confused with StakeStone’s yield-bearing tokens. STONE represents a liquid ETH product, while SBTC and STONEBTC are BTC-related products with different designs and intended uses. Holding STO alone does not mean you hold those assets, earn their yield or have a right to redeem them. Before interacting with any staking, locking or governance feature, confirm that it is currently active and understand its contract, lock-up conditions and risks.
## Supply, price and networks
STO has a maximum and total supply of 1 billion tokens. About 225.3 million were circulating as of 2026-11-05; the remainder was not included in the circulating figure, and public sources do not provide a release schedule. Supply figures can change as tokens are distributed or reclassified. STO was issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain; it is not listed as the native token of either network. As of 2026-11-05, its price was about $0.0284, market capitalization about $6.4 million and fully diluted valuation about $28.4 million. These are snapshots, not stable values or forecasts. The token’s market price can move sharply, and circulating supply, liquidity and trading conditions can affect how easily it can be bought or sold.
## Risks and storage
STO carries typical crypto risks, including volatile prices, thin or changing liquidity, smart-contract vulnerabilities, governance decisions that may not benefit every holder, and uncertainty about future token distributions. Cross-chain use can add bridge and network risks. Do not assume that a token with the STO name on a different network is an authentic StakeStone asset. For storage, use a wallet that supports the relevant network and verify the token’s contract address through StakeStone’s official channels before adding or transferring it; no contract address is provided here. Keep recovery phrases and private keys offline and never share them with anyone claiming they can restore or validate your tokens. Test unfamiliar transfers carefully, and remember that sending STO to an incompatible address or network can result in permanent loss.
By the numbers
StakeStone in numbers
StakeStone (STO) is ranked #1,561 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $6.09M and a price of $0.0270 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $27.0M, so roughly 23% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 11.1% over 7 days, down 33.9% over 30 days, down 84.3% over the past year. It trades about 98% below its all-time high of $1.77, set on Apr 2, 2026.
About 225.33M STO are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (23% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $1.82M, or 30% of its market cap: very high turnover.
STO has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, BNB Chain. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
STO is linked to StakeStone STONE, which we cover in our Staking rankings. See our StakeStone STONE page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

STO FAQs
What is the difference between STO and STONE?
STO is StakeStone’s governance token. StakeStone also offers separate assets such as STONE, SBTC and STONEBTC, which are not the same token and have different intended uses.
What is STO used for?
Public descriptions identify governance participation as STO’s main role, and refer to locking tokens into veSTO. The current rules and benefits of that model should be checked in StakeStone’s documentation.
What is the supply of STO?
STO has a maximum and total supply of 1 billion tokens. About 225.3 million were circulating as of 2026-11-05; circulating supply can change.
Which networks is STO on?
STO was issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain. It is not listed as a native token of either network, so check the network and token contract before making a transfer.
What are the risks of holding STO?
Like other crypto assets, STO can be affected by price volatility, liquidity changes, contract or cross-chain risks, and token distribution. Only use a wallet that supports the relevant network, and protect your private keys and recovery phrase.
