## What is Solv Protocol?
Solv Protocol is a decentralized finance project focused on Bitcoin-related products. It describes SolvBTC as a Bitcoin reserve product and SolvBTC.LSTs as liquid staking tokens intended to let holders use Bitcoin-linked assets in DeFi while retaining liquidity. These products are separate from SOLV: SOLV is the protocol’s own token, not Bitcoin and not a claim that every SOLV token is backed by BTC. The project’s aim is to make Bitcoin assets usable across more financial applications. Its products do not change Bitcoin’s proof-of-work system, and using them involves interacting with other networks and protocols. The name “staking” here refers to Solv’s products and strategies, not to Bitcoin holders taking part in Bitcoin’s mining consensus.
## What is SOLV used for?
Public descriptions associate SOLV with protocol governance and with staking-related rewards, fee incentives or fee discounts. The exact features available, and any conditions attached to them, can depend on the protocol’s current rules and product design. Holding SOLV by itself should not be taken as a promise of income, a fixed reward, or control over protocol decisions. Governance participation may involve separate procedures, and token holders’ influence can depend on how voting is structured. SOLV is also distinct from SolvBTC and its liquid staking tokens: those are products related to Bitcoin assets, while SOLV is the protocol token. Before relying on a specific utility, check the current Solv materials and the terms for the relevant product.
## SOLV supply and market figures
As of 2026-11-05, SOLV has a reported maximum and total supply of 9.66 billion tokens, with about 5.90 billion circulating. Circulating supply is the amount counted as available in the market; total supply includes tokens that may not currently be circulating. On that date, SOLV traded at about $0.0047, with a market capitalization of about $27.6 million and a fully diluted valuation of about $45.1 million. These are approximate, time-sensitive figures, not forecasts. Market capitalization uses circulating supply, while fully diluted valuation estimates value using the full stated supply. Token prices and market values can change sharply, and the circulating share can change as tokens enter circulation. Check current figures before making any decision.
## Chains and storage
SOLV is issued on BNB Chain and Ethereum. It is not listed as the native token of either chain; each network has its own underlying gas token, which is separate from SOLV. A wallet or exchange may support SOLV on one network but not the other, so confirm the selected network and token details before depositing or withdrawing. Sending tokens using an unsupported network or address format can lead to loss of access. For self-custody, use a wallet that explicitly supports the relevant network, protect its recovery phrase offline, and never share it with anyone claiming to offer support. If you use a custodial service, review its supported networks and withdrawal terms. Do not assume a token displayed under the same symbol on another network is the same asset.
## Risks to understand
SOLV carries the usual risks of a crypto token, including sharp price changes, limited liquidity at some times, and changes in market demand. Solv’s Bitcoin-related products add other risks: smart-contract flaws, operational or custody problems, and a product’s value or redemption terms differing from the value of BTC. Liquid staking tokens are not identical to Bitcoin, and their liquidity or market price may vary. Returns, where offered, can change and are not guaranteed. Solv says its contracts have undergone audits by firms including Quantstamp, CertiK, SlowMist, Salus and Secbit; an audit does not eliminate vulnerabilities or other risks. Token supply changes can also affect availability and market conditions. Understand the specific product and its terms before using it, and do not treat SOLV as a guaranteed way to earn yield.
