## What is Magpie (MGP)?
Magpie XYZ is a DeFi platform designed to support protocols that use vote-escrowed tokenomics, often called veTokenomics. In these systems, governance-token holders lock tokens to gain voting power and may receive a share of protocol emissions. Magpie’s model pools assets from liquidity providers and governance-token holders, then uses governance tokens to obtain veTokens and seek boosted yields. The stated aim is to let liquidity providers participate without individually buying and locking a protocol’s governance token, while sharing some revenue with veToken holders.
MGP is Magpie’s governance token. Public descriptions also associate it with rewards, but public sources do not establish the current details or availability of those rewards. MGP is not described here as a coin that secures its own blockchain: no native chain or consensus role is specified. Magpie also has Wompie, a sub-protocol for veTokenomics yield boosting on BNB Chain and Arbitrum. Magpie describes Wompie as inactive, so do not assume that this service is currently operating.
## What is MGP used for?
MGP’s best-supported role is governance within the Magpie ecosystem. Governance participation can give token holders a way to influence protocol decisions, but public sources do not spell out which decisions MGP holders can vote on today, whether voting is active, or what minimum balance is required. Check current Magpie governance materials before relying on a vote or assuming that holding MGP grants a particular right.
Some public descriptions say MGP holders can earn rewards. That alone does not establish a current reward rate, eligibility rules, or an ongoing revenue distribution. Magpie’s broader platform concept involves gathering assets, converting governance tokens into veTokens, boosting liquidity-provider yields, and sharing some revenue with governance-token holders. Those platform mechanics should not be confused with a guaranteed return on MGP itself. Yields, governance access, and protocol features can change, and Wompie’s inactive status is a reason to verify which Magpie products remain available before interacting.
## MGP supply and market snapshot
MGP has a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. At the November 5, 2026 snapshot, approximately 575.3 million were circulating. The difference between circulating and total supply is not necessarily an amount that will be released all at once; public sources do not specify the vesting, allocation, or release schedule. A fixed maximum also does not by itself indicate how much MGP is liquid or available to trade.
At that same snapshot, MGP was priced at about $0.00149, with an approximate market capitalization of $856,000 and fully diluted valuation of $1.5 million. These are time-sensitive figures, not estimates of future value. Reported 24-hour trading volume was about $1,062, suggesting that trading activity in this snapshot was limited. Low volume can make it harder to trade at a displayed price, and market values can change quickly. The token’s reported all-time high was about $0.211 on December 18, 2024, and its reported low was about $0.00130 on August 18, 2026; past prices do not predict future performance.
## Chains and storage
MGP is reported as issued on BNB Chain and Arbitrum. It is not identified as the native token of either network; each network has its own native asset and transaction-fee system. A token issued on more than one chain may have separate contract addresses and balances on each network, so confirm the chain and official token contract before receiving or sending MGP. A similarly named token on another network may be unrelated.
To store MGP, use a wallet that supports the relevant network and token standard, and verify the contract address through Magpie’s official channels before adding it. Keep the recovery phrase offline and never share it with anyone claiming to offer support. Sending tokens to the wrong network or contract can result in permanent loss. If using an exchange or a third-party wallet, check which MGP network it supports and whether deposits and withdrawals are enabled. Do not assume that support for MGP on one chain means it can be transferred directly to the other; cross-chain transfers require an appropriate supported method.
## Risks to understand
MGP carries the usual risks of a small-cap crypto asset, including price volatility, thin trading, and the possibility that you may not be able to sell at the displayed price. The snapshot’s low trading volume is especially relevant: a market order may face substantial slippage, and available liquidity can vary. Token holders also face smart-contract, bridge, governance, and operational risks when interacting with DeFi applications. A contract flaw or compromised system could cause losses, and governance decisions may not match a holder’s interests.
The platform’s intended yield-boosting model depends on other protocols, their governance tokens, and the continued operation of related products. Returns are not guaranteed, and public sources do not confirm that every described feature is currently active. Wompie, a Magpie DAO sub-protocol for yield boosting, is described as inactive. Before connecting a wallet or depositing assets, verify that the specific product is live, understand its fees and withdrawal conditions, and consider whether you can afford a total loss. This is general information, not investment advice.
By the numbers
Magpie in numbers
Magpie (MGP) is ranked #3,226 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $831K and a price of $0.001445 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $1.44M, so roughly 58% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 1.2% over 7 days, down 23.6% over 30 days, down 92.4% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $0.2107, set on Dec 18, 2024.
About 575.25M MGP are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (58% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $2.83K, or 0.3% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
MGP has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including BNB Chain, Arbitrum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
MGP is linked to Wompie, which we cover in our Yield Aggregator rankings. See our Wompie page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

MGP FAQs
What is Magpie (MGP)?
MGP is Magpie’s governance token. Public descriptions also associate it with rewards, but current reward terms and governance rights should be confirmed through Magpie’s current materials.
Which chains is MGP on?
MGP is reported as issued on BNB Chain and Arbitrum. Confirm the network and official contract address before transferring tokens, because a token on another chain may not be the same asset.
What is the maximum supply of MGP?
MGP has a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens, with about 575.3 million circulating at the November 5, 2026 snapshot. Circulating supply and market figures can change over time.
What does Magpie do?
