What is Lit Protocol?
Lit Protocol is a decentralized key-management and private-compute network for developers building Web3 applications. Its tools are intended to let software manage cryptographic keys and perform actions under rules set by the developer, rather than relying on one central service. The network’s three main functions are signing, encryption and decryption, and private computation.
For signing and wallet management, Lit supports ECDSA and EdDSA signatures using threshold cryptography (MPC TSS) alongside trusted execution environments (TEEs). Its encryption tools use an identity-based BLS encryption scheme with MPC TSS and TEEs. Private computation is also carried out through the network’s MPC TSS system and protected by sealed TEEs. These are infrastructure features for developers; LITKEY is the associated token, not a standalone blockchain or a general-purpose app.
What is LITKEY used for?
LITKEY is described as the payment token for Lit Protocol services. Project materials say users can use it to purchase API credits from a wallet, with credits settled on Base. The materials also describe a 25% discount compared with card pricing; payment terms and available services may change, so check the current Lit documentation before relying on that offer.
A 2025 announcement also described LITKEY as a work and governance token, with a role in paying for and securing network services. That description does not by itself establish which governance processes are currently active or how token-based network security works in practice. Treat those functions as distinct from the more directly stated use of paying for services, and verify current mechanisms in project documentation. LITKEY does not represent ownership of Lit Protocol or a guaranteed claim on revenue.
Supply and supported chains
The listed maximum and total supply of LITKEY are both 1 billion tokens. Circulating supply is listed as 220 million, with the supply figures current as of 2026-11-05. Circulating supply is the amount reported as available in the market; it is not the same as the maximum amount that could exist. The difference between circulating and total supply may affect how holders assess dilution, but it does not predict future token value.
LITKEY is not listed as the native token of a blockchain. It has been issued on Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, and Base. These are separate networks, and a token held on one chain may not be interchangeable with a version on another without an appropriate transfer process. Before sending or receiving LITKEY, confirm that the wallet, exchange, and destination support the same network and the correct token contract.
Risks to consider
LITKEY carries the risks of a relatively small crypto asset as well as risks tied to its intended use. Its market price and trading activity can change sharply, and low liquidity can make it harder to trade at a desired price. Token demand may depend on the uptake of Lit services, but service use does not guarantee token demand or value. Technical failures, changes to the network, or unclear governance arrangements could also affect confidence in the project.
There are additional operational risks when using tokens across multiple chains. Sending LITKEY on an unsupported network, using an incorrect contract, or interacting with a malicious site can result in irreversible loss. A token’s presence in a wallet does not verify that it is the official asset. Check current contract details against Lit’s official materials, and be cautious of unsolicited requests to connect a wallet or reveal a recovery phrase.
Storage and custody
LITKEY can generally be held in a wallet that supports the network on which the token is issued, but support varies by wallet and chain. Confirm that the wallet supports the relevant network—Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, or Base—and verify the token contract before adding or transferring the asset. A wallet may require you to add a token manually, and seeing a token with the same name or symbol is not proof that it is authentic.
For self-custody, protect the wallet’s recovery phrase offline and never share it with a person or website claiming to provide support. Consider whether you need access to each chain on which you hold LITKEY, and test any unfamiliar transfer process with a small amount only if you understand the fees and risks. If using a custodial exchange, check its supported networks and withdrawal rules before depositing.
By the numbers
Lit Protocol in numbers
Lit Protocol (LITKEY) is ranked #3,890 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $472K and a price of $0.002146 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $2.15M, so roughly 22% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 18.0% over 7 days, down 57.6% over 30 days, down 95.2% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $0.2139, set on Oct 29, 2025.
About 220M LITKEY are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (22% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $1.37K, or 0.3% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
LITKEY has token contracts on 4 chains we track, including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Base. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

LITKEY FAQs
What is the LITKEY token used for?
LITKEY is described as the payment token for Lit Protocol services, including purchasing API credits. Project materials have also described work and governance roles, but check current documentation for details on active mechanisms.
Which networks support LITKEY?
LITKEY has been issued on Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, and Base. It is not listed as the native token of a blockchain, so confirm the network and token contract before transferring it.
What is the supply of LITKEY?
The listed maximum and total supply are 1 billion LITKEY, and the circulating supply is 220 million as of 2026-11-05. Supply figures can change, so check current project or market information for updates.
How do I store LITKEY?
Use a wallet that supports LITKEY on the specific network where you hold it. Verify the token contract using Lit’s official materials, and keep your recovery phrase private and offline.
What are the risks of holding LITKEY?
LITKEY has market, liquidity, technical, and cross-chain risks. Its use for paying for services does not guarantee future demand or price, and transfers sent to an unsupported network or incorrect address may be lost.
What is the market cap of Lit Protocol?
As of Nov 6, 2026, Lit Protocol had a market cap of about $472K, ranking #3,890 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of LITKEY?
Lit Protocol's all-time high is $0.2139, reached on Oct 29, 2025. Its all-time low is $0.001463 (Sep 17, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
