## What is JUNO?

JUNO is the native token of Juno, a permissionless blockchain designed for interoperable applications and smart contracts. Juno is built with the Cosmos SDK and uses Tendermint consensus in a proof-of-stake system. Its smart contracts use CosmWasm, which lets developers write and deploy contracts in Rust.

JUNO is used to support network processes, including transaction activity, and the network’s governance. Token holders can delegate tokens to validators and take part in on-chain votes, subject to the network’s rules. These functions connect JUNO to the Juno blockchain itself; they do not guarantee that every app built on Juno will use the token in the same way. JUNO should also not be confused with Junocash, a separate cryptocurrency that shares the JUNO ticker in some public reporting. Check the network name and token identity before sending or trading.

## What is JUNO used for?

JUNO’s core role is to fuel activity on the Juno network. Users may need it to pay transaction fees, while token holders can delegate it in the proof-of-stake system and participate in network governance. Delegation involves assigning tokens to a validator; it is different from transferring ownership of the tokens, but it can carry validator and network risks. Governance votes can shape network parameters and other proposals, although participation does not mean every holder has equal influence.

Juno supports CosmWasm smart contracts, so developers can build applications that interact with other chains in the Cosmos ecosystem. JUNO is not automatically required for every application or service deployed there: each dApp can have its own tokens, fees, and operating rules. Before using a Juno dApp, check which token it asks for, what chain the transaction uses, and what permissions a wallet request grants. Do not assume that a JUNO-branded asset on another network has the same uses or protections as the native token.

## Supply, price and supported chains

JUNO is native to the Juno chain. The token is also reported as issued on Cosmos, Secret, Evmos, and Osmosis. An asset represented on another chain may be a bridged or otherwise wrapped version rather than the native Juno token, so the ticker alone is not enough to identify it. Confirm the chain, token contract or denomination, and the receiving wallet’s support before making a transfer. Sending a token to an incompatible network or address can lead to loss of access.

The available supply figures list about 79.5 million JUNO circulating and about 105.6 million total, with a stated maximum of about 185.6 million. These figures can change as tokens enter circulation or network rules evolve. As of 2026-11-05, JUNO was around $0.0063, with a market capitalization of roughly $0.5 million. These are time-sensitive snapshots, not measures of future value. Trading activity was limited in the reported snapshot, which can make it harder to buy or sell at a desired price.

## Risks to understand

JUNO carries the risks of a small, volatile crypto asset. Its price can move sharply, and a thin market can mean wider spreads or difficulty completing a trade. Historical prices do not predict future performance. A token’s market value can fall substantially, and you may lose some or all of the amount you put at risk.

There are also network-specific risks. Proof-of-stake systems depend on validators, and delegating tokens can expose holders to validator performance, slashing rules, or changes to the network. Smart contracts may contain bugs or be exploited, and dApps can have separate security and governance weaknesses. Cross-chain transfers add bridge and destination-chain risks; a wrapped JUNO token may not be interchangeable with the native asset in every context. Governance decisions and changes to the Juno ecosystem can also affect how useful the token is. Review current network and validator rules before delegating, and assess each dApp or bridge separately rather than treating the whole ecosystem as equally safe.

## How to store JUNO

To hold native JUNO, use a wallet that explicitly supports the Juno network and its address format. Confirm that the wallet can display and send the correct asset, and test with a small transfer when appropriate. If you are holding a representation on Cosmos, Secret, Evmos, or Osmosis, use a wallet and transfer route that support that exact chain and token. A familiar ticker is not proof that two assets are interchangeable.

Keep your recovery phrase or private key offline and private. Never share it with a person or site claiming to provide support, and be cautious of unsolicited signing requests. Review transaction details and permissions before approving a wallet prompt. If you delegate JUNO, understand how to undelegate, any applicable waiting period, validator risks, and the possibility of penalties under network rules. Self-custody gives you control but also makes you responsible for safeguarding access; losing your keys may mean losing access to your tokens.

By the numbers

JUNO in numbers

JUNO (JUNO) is ranked #3,876 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $476K and a price of $0.005989 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $633K, so roughly 75% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 15.4% over 7 days, down 32.9% over 30 days, down 90.7% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $45.74, set on Mar 2, 2022.

About 79.51M JUNO are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 185.56M (43% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $3.10K, or 0.7% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

JUNO is the native token of Juno; it also has token contracts on 4 chains we track, including Cosmos, Secret, Evmos, Osmosis. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
