## What is Extra Finance?

Extra Finance is a decentralized finance protocol for lending and leveraged yield farming. It is designed for users who want to borrow assets or apply customized strategies to farming pools, which can increase both potential returns and losses. The protocol is associated with Optimism and Base, as well as Berachain; the EXTRA token is reported as issued on Optimism and Base.

EXTRA is the protocol’s utility token. The project describes it as a token used for rewards, including emissions for liquidity providers. Extra Finance also has a separate token, veEXTRA, for governance. EXTRA holders can vote-escrow their tokens to receive veEXTRA, which the project says gives holders voting rights and access to certain protocol features. EXTRA and veEXTRA therefore have different roles: holding EXTRA alone is not the same as holding veEXTRA.

## What is EXTRA used for?

EXTRA is used in Extra Finance’s token incentive system. The project says some EXTRA emissions are allocated to liquidity providers, while a community allocation may also go to veEXTRA holders under an emission plan. veEXTRA holders may receive rewards funded by protocol fees and token incentives. The project describes using collected protocol fees to buy EXTRA on the market and distribute it to veEXTRA holders, with rewards accumulated at the end of each epoch. The amount and availability of rewards can change, so they should not be treated as guaranteed income.

The project also describes veEXTRA as a way to access protocol functions, including voting, up to 4x leverage in yield-farming pools, and access to lending pools with high utilization. These features come with substantial DeFi risks. Leverage can magnify losses, and lending or farming returns can vary with market conditions, pool utilization, fees, and smart-contract performance. Read the protocol’s current terms before using any feature; token ownership by itself does not make a strategy safe or profitable.

## Supply and market context

EXTRA has a stated maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. As of 2026-11-05, about 486.5 million were reported as circulating, out of a total supply of about 843.3 million. Circulating supply is the portion counted as available in the market; total supply can include tokens that are not currently circulating. These figures can change as tokens are released or otherwise accounted for.

For context, the reported market capitalization was about $2.5 million and fully diluted valuation about $4.4 million on that date. The reported 24-hour trading volume was about $5,451. These are time-sensitive estimates, not fixed properties of the token. A relatively small trading volume can also make it harder to trade larger amounts without affecting the price. Do not use a single market snapshot as a forecast or as a recommendation to buy or sell EXTRA.

## Chains, risks, and storage

EXTRA is reported as issued on Optimism and Base. The protocol is also described as operating on Berachain, but that does not by itself confirm that EXTRA is issued or available on that network. Before sending tokens, check the network and token contract details against Extra Finance’s official information. A token with the same name or symbol on another chain may be unrelated, and sending assets to an unsupported network or address can result in permanent loss.

EXTRA is described as an ERC-20 token, so it can generally be held in a wallet that supports the relevant network and token standard. Use a wallet you control, protect its recovery phrase offline, and never share it with anyone claiming to offer support. Consider a hardware wallet for long-term custody. Risks include contract vulnerabilities, bridge and network risks, token price volatility, low liquidity, and losses from leveraged farming or lending. Governance and incentive terms can also change; check current protocol details before participating.

Its fully diluted valuation is $3.84M, so roughly 58% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 11.7% over 7 days, down 34.0% over 30 days, down 67.1% over the past year. It trades about 98% below its all-time high of $0.2879, set on Mar 27, 2024.

About 486.53M EXTRA are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (49% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $3.29K, or 0.1% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
