## What is Chromia (CHR)?
Chromia is a public blockchain built for decentralized applications (dApps). Its design combines blockchain execution with relational database-style data handling: developers use Rell, a programming language designed to work in a way similar to SQL. Chromia is intended to support dApps that need to store and query structured data, while retaining blockchain properties such as shared verification and immutability.
The network is described as a standalone Layer 1 and as an EVM-compatible Layer 2 enhancement for Ethereum and BNB Chain. Its architecture gives each dApp its own sidechain connected to Chromia’s main blockchain. This can let applications scale and choose fee arrangements suited to their needs. These are design goals, not guarantees of performance or adoption. CHR is Chromia’s native token and is also issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain.
## What is CHR used for?
CHR is used within the Chromia ecosystem, but the way an application handles fees can vary. A dApp may require users to pay transaction fees in CHR. Another may stake enough CHR to reserve computational capacity, potentially allowing its users to transact without paying a fee for each individual transaction. The available fee model therefore depends on the application rather than being identical across every Chromia dApp.
CHR may also be used for services related to hosting dApps on the network. These uses connect the token to activity and resource needs on Chromia, but they do not mean that every dApp must make users hold CHR directly. Check the rules of a specific application before interacting with it, and distinguish a dApp’s fee policy from the general functions of the Chromia network. Token utility alone does not establish that demand for CHR will increase.
## CHR supply and market context
As of 2026-11-05, Chromia’s reported circulating and total supply was about 974.8 million CHR, with a maximum supply of about 978.1 million. These are token-supply figures, not a measure of how much CHR is available to trade at any particular moment. Supply information can change, so check current token data before relying on it.
The market snapshot on that date put CHR at about $0.0158, with a market capitalization of about $15.4 million. These figures are time-sensitive and can change quickly; they are not a forecast or a recommendation to buy or sell. Like other crypto assets, CHR can experience large price swings, and its market price may not reflect how much a person can actually receive when trading. Consider liquidity, fees and the risk of loss as well as supply figures.
## Chains and storage
CHR is the native token of the Chromia blockchain. It is also issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain, so a token labeled CHR may exist in more than one network environment. The same ticker does not by itself confirm that a token is genuine or that it is on the network you intend to use. Before sending or receiving CHR, confirm the network and token details with the wallet, exchange or dApp you are using.
For storage, use a wallet that explicitly supports CHR on the relevant chain. Sending tokens through an unsupported network or to an incompatible address can result in loss, and recovery may not be possible. Keep any wallet recovery phrase or private key secret and offline, and never share it with a person claiming they need it to release or verify your tokens. If CHR is held with a service rather than in a self-custody wallet, access and recovery depend on that provider’s rules and security.
## Risks to understand
CHR carries market risk: its price can fall sharply, and there is no guarantee that Chromia or its dApps will attract lasting use. A token’s utility does not ensure that it will retain value. Chromia’s technical design also introduces risks common to blockchain systems, including software defects, network disruption and vulnerabilities in dApps or other connected services. Application-specific fee choices and sidechain activity may add further differences in how users experience the network.
There can also be risks when moving tokens between networks or relying on third-party wallets, exchanges or applications. Check transaction details carefully, use only services you understand, and do not assume that assets on separate chains are interchangeable without a supported process. This page is general information, not personalized financial advice. Only use money you can afford to lose, and consider whether you understand the relevant network and custody risks before handling CHR.
By the numbers
Chromia in numbers
Chromia (CHR) is ranked #986 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $15.0M and a price of $0.0154 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($15.0M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 1.7% over 7 days, down 32.5% over 30 days, down 77.0% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $1.49, set on Nov 20, 2021.
About 974.83M CHR are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 978.06M (100% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $1.50M, or 10.0% of its market cap: high turnover.
CHR is the native token of Chromia; it also has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, BNB Chain. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

CHR FAQs
What is CHR used for?
CHR is the native token of Chromia. Depending on the dApp, it can be used for transaction fees, hosting-related services or to reserve computational capacity through staking.
What is the maximum supply of CHR?
The reported maximum supply is about 978.1 million CHR. As of 2026-11-05, circulating and total supply were each about 974.8 million; figures can change, so check for current data.
Which networks support CHR?
CHR is native to the Chromia blockchain and is also issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain. Check the network and token details before transferring, since the same ticker can appear on different chains.
How can I store CHR?
Use a wallet that explicitly supports CHR on the network where your tokens are held. Confirm the destination network before sending, and keep your recovery phrase or private key private.
What are the risks of holding CHR?
Yes. CHR can be volatile, and its value may fall substantially. Chromia, its dApps and related services also carry technical, operational and custody risks; there is no guarantee of adoption or returns.
What is the market cap of Chromia?
As of Nov 6, 2026, Chromia had a market cap of about $15.0M, ranking #986 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of CHR?
Chromia's all-time high is $1.49, reached on Nov 20, 2021. Its all-time low is $0.008740 (Mar 12, 2020). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of CHR?
As of Nov 6, 2026, about 974.83M CHR were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 978.06M.
Which blockchains is CHR on?
