Avalon (AVL): What It Is, Uses and Risks

Avalon Labs is building an on-chain financial ecosystem focused on Bitcoin-backed finance. Its described products include BTC-backed lending, a Bitcoin-backed stablecoin, yield-generating accounts and a credit card. Avalon CeDeFi, a product in the ecosystem, is described as a fixed-rate credit line for institutions using collateral held by a custodian. Product availability and terms can vary, so check the relevant service’s current details before relying on it.

AVL is Avalon Labs’ governance token. It is intended to let holders participate in decisions about the ecosystem. AVL is not Bitcoin, and owning it does not mean you own Bitcoin collateral or have a claim on a lending product. It is also distinct from any stablecoin Avalon may offer. Its role is tied to the Avalon ecosystem rather than serving as a general-purpose payment token.

The main stated role of AVL is governance: holders can have a say in decisions about Avalon Labs and its products. The precise proposals available to token holders, voting rules and effect of votes can change. Before relying on a vote to influence a particular service, review the current governance process and any proposal-specific conditions.

Some published descriptions also refer to staking AVL and receiving sAVL, with rewards. That does not establish a fixed or guaranteed return. Staking can involve lockups, changing reward terms, smart-contract risks or other restrictions, and the details should be checked with Avalon’s current documentation. Do not assume that every AVL holder can vote, stake or receive rewards on every network where the token is issued. A governance token’s value and usefulness may also depend on whether the community actively uses its voting rights and whether the ecosystem continues to develop.

AVL has a stated maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. The total supply is also reported as 1 billion, while about 446.9 million AVL were circulating as of November 5, 2026. Circulating supply can differ from total supply because some tokens may not yet be available to the market. Supply figures can change, so treat these amounts as a dated snapshot rather than a guarantee of current circulation.

As of November 5, 2026, AVL’s price was about $0.018, with a market capitalization of about $8 million and a fully diluted valuation of about $18 million. These figures are time-sensitive and can move substantially. The gap between market capitalization and fully diluted valuation reflects the difference between circulating and maximum supply at the quoted price; it is not a forecast. Past prices, including recorded highs and lows, do not indicate what AVL may be worth in the future.

AVL is reported as issued on Ethereum, Bitlayer and BNB Chain. It is not identified as the native token of any of these networks. A token issued on more than one chain may involve separate contracts or representations, and public sources do not establish how transfers between those networks work. Confirm the exact network and token contract through Avalon’s official channels before depositing, withdrawing or interacting with a dApp. Sending AVL to an incompatible address or using the wrong network can result in loss of funds.

For storage, use a wallet that supports the specific network and token contract you hold. Keep recovery phrases and private keys offline and secret; no legitimate support agent needs them. A hardware wallet can reduce exposure of keys to an internet-connected device, but it cannot prevent mistakes such as signing a malicious transaction or selecting the wrong chain. Check wallet compatibility and transaction details before confirming.

AVL carries risks beyond ordinary price volatility. Its market value can change quickly, and the token may be affected by demand, liquidity, token distribution, governance decisions and the progress of Avalon’s products. Governance participation does not guarantee that proposals will pass or that a decision will benefit every holder. The token does not represent guaranteed income, a fixed claim on protocol assets or a promise of a particular product outcome.

Avalon’s financial products may also carry risks of their own, including collateral, custody, lending, stablecoin and smart-contract risks. These should not be confused with the risks of holding AVL: a token holder may face AVL-specific volatility even without using a lending service, while a borrower or depositor may face product risks regardless of whether they hold AVL. Review the terms and risks for each product separately, and do not commit funds you cannot afford to lose.
