ActivestCYBER Review 2026: Liquid Staking for the Cyber L2 Network
stCYBER is a derivative token that represents CYBER staked on the Cyber Layer 2 network, tied to network security and governance rights. It is a small, early-stage liquid staking product with limited published detail on rewards and fees.

Our verdict on stCYBER
5.2/10stCYBER suits existing CYBER holders who want to take part in Cyber Network security and governance and are comfortable with an early-stage Layer 2 ecosystem. Its main strength is a clear role: staked CYBER secures the network and carries voting rights. The main caveat is the lack of published detail on fees, rewards and unbonding, combined with a small and recently declining TVL. Read the audit reports and staking terms first, and stake only what you can afford to have exposed to smart-contract and chain risk.

What is stCYBER?
stCYBER is part of the staking system on Cyber Mainnet, an Ethereum Layer 2 aimed at web3 social applications. Stakers lock CYBER and receive derivative tokens, cCYBER and stCYBER, that represent the staked position.
Staking is framed as serving three purposes: securing the network, supporting liquidity across the ecosystem, and giving stakers governance power. Cyber announced mainnet staking in mid-2024, and DefiLlama has tracked this liquid staking listing since March 2025.
The product is small. DefiLlama shows about $796,000 in total value locked, down roughly 14.8% over seven days. Two audits are listed, but the project does not detail the auditors or findings on its homepage.
How stCYBER works
Cyber is an Ethereum Layer 2 network built around social primitives, with CYBER as its token. Users lock CYBER in staking on Cyber Mainnet, which helps secure the network. In return they receive derivative tokens, cCYBER and stCYBER, that represent the staked position.
Staked CYBER carries governance rights. Holders of the derivative tokens can submit and vote on proposals about the network. The staking programme also helps bootstrap the security of a new chain and supports liquidity across its ecosystem.
The pages reviewed do not spell out the redemption process, unbonding period or how rewards are distributed. Those mechanics should be confirmed in the official documentation before staking.
5 features
Key features
01
Derivative staking tokens
Staking CYBER on Cyber Mainnet gives you derivative tokens, cCYBER and stCYBER, that represent your staked position.
02
Governance rights
Staked CYBER grants holders the ability to submit and vote on governance proposals for the network.
03
Network security role
Staking is described as helping secure the Cyber network and bootstrap its early security.
04
Ecosystem liquidity
The product is described as boosting liquidity across the Cyber ecosystem through staked positions.
05
Listed audits
The protocol is listed with two audits on DefiLlama, though the reports are not detailed on the homepage.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Directly tied to the Cyber network's security and governance, so staking has a clear purpose.
- Staked CYBER can be used to submit and vote on governance proposals.
- Derivative tokens mean the staked position is represented onchain.
- Two audits are listed for the protocol.
- Official documentation and an announcement post explain the staking design.
Watch out for
- TVL is small at roughly $796,000 and fell about 14.8% over seven days, so liquidity may be thin.
- Staking fees, reward rates and unbonding terms are not published on the pages reviewed.
- Exposure is concentrated in one token (CYBER) on one young Layer 2 network.
- The stCYBER derivative has no price or secondary market data to check how closely it tracks staked CYBER.
- Cyber is retiring some of its other products (CyberWallet and Passkey Wallet), which suggests the wider ecosystem is shifting focus.
stCYBER fees
The reviewed pages do not publish any staking fee, performance fee or unbonding terms for stCYBER. Users should check the staking interface and the Cyber documentation for current terms before committing funds.
Normal Layer 2 transaction costs apply when staking and withdrawing. Cyber describes its network as low-cost, but no specific figure is published.
Is stCYBER safe?
Two audits are listed for the protocol on DefiLlama, but the reviewed pages do not name the auditors or summarise their findings. Staking contracts on a young Layer 2 carry smart-contract risk, and an audit does not remove it.
Stakers also face network risk: Cyber is a newer chain, so bridge, sequencer and chain-level issues can affect staked assets. With a small TVL, the protocol has less market depth than established liquid staking platforms. The project does not publish information about insurance or a bug bounty on the pages reviewed. Cyber has also announced the sunset of CyberWallet and Passkey Wallet, which is separate from staking but worth watching.
6 steps
How to get started with stCYBER
- 1
Acquire CYBER tokens and get them onto Cyber Mainnet, the Ethereum Layer 2 where staking runs.
- 2
Use a wallet that supports the Cyber network and hold a small amount for gas.
- 3
Open the staking section of Cyber's official site or documentation and read the current terms.
- 4
Stake CYBER and confirm you receive the derivative token (stCYBER or cCYBER).
- 5
Use the derivative token for governance participation as the documentation describes.
- 6
Track your position and review the audit reports and any announcements regularly.
Who stCYBER is for
stCYBER is for CYBER holders who want governance influence and a role in securing the Cyber network, and who accept the risks of a small Layer 2 protocol. It is less suited to people seeking a deep, widely integrated liquid staking token or a clearly stated yield.
stCYBER FAQs
What is stCYBER?
stCYBER is one of two derivative tokens, alongside cCYBER, that represent CYBER staked on Cyber Mainnet. Staking CYBER is described as securing the network and giving holders governance rights.
What does staking CYBER give you?
Staked CYBER, through the cCYBER and stCYBER derivative tokens, lets holders submit and vote on governance proposals. Staking also contributes to network security and ecosystem liquidity.
What is the stCYBER staking yield?
The reviewed pages do not publish a reward rate or APY for stCYBER. Check the staking interface and Cyber documentation for current figures, as rates can change.
Is stCYBER audited?
DefiLlama lists two audits for the protocol, but the reviewed pages do not name the auditors or link to the reports. Read the reports in Cyber's documentation before staking, since an audit does not remove smart-contract risk.
Does stCYBER have its own separate token launch?
No. The reviewed pages do not mention an stCYBER token trading under its own market listing, and DefiLlama shows no separate token for the protocol. Check Cyber's docs for how the derivative is issued and redeemed.
Is anything shutting down at Cyber?
Cyber announced that CyberWallet and Passkey Wallet are sunsetting, with a withdrawal deadline of August 15, 2026. That notice concerns those wallet products, not the staking contracts, but anyone holding assets in them should withdraw in time.
