Bidcoin Review 2026: An Unlaunched Bitcoin Layer 2 Presale

Bidcoin is a presale for $BIDCOIN, the token of a planned Bitcoin Layer 2 built on the Solana Virtual Machine. The Layer 2 has not launched and key claims are unverified, so treat it as a high-risk speculative purchase.

Our verdict on Bidcoin

2.5/10

Bidcoin is best viewed as a high-risk presale for a Bitcoin Layer 2 that has not launched. Its strength is a clearly described bridge and proof design with simple, published tokenomics. The main caveat is that almost nothing is verifiable: no team, audit report or working network is shown, and the roadmap and activity feed are inconsistent. Only speculators who accept a total loss and have checked the details for themselves should consider it. Anyone who wants working Bitcoin scaling today should look at established options.

What is Bidcoin?

Bidcoin markets itself as the fastest Bitcoin Layer 2, aiming to bring quick, cheap transactions to Bitcoin for payments, meme coins and dApps. The only live product is a presale of its $BIDCOIN token, priced at 0.0337 USD per token with a 5,000,000 USD target. The progress counter shows 0 raised.

The homepage meta description calls it a platform for buying and selling cryptocurrencies, which does not match the Layer 2 pitch on the page itself. The site also runs a scrolling feed of purchases for tokens such as $COIN, $CRYPTO and $DEFI at values of a few cents. That reads as placeholder content rather than real trading activity.

The roadmap lists project setup, contract auditing and the presale as complete, Layer 2 development as in progress, and mainnet, DEX and staking launches as upcoming. Yet the items under the upcoming phases are ticked. The site does not name a team, an auditor or a company behind the project.

The name is also shared by unrelated sites, including coin auction pages and a separate memecoin page. Some similarly named domains have been flagged as high-risk by fraud-checking tools. Be sure which site you are on.

How Bidcoin works

Bidcoin describes a four-step flow. A user deposits BTC to an address watched by its canonical bridge. An SVM program, the Bitcoin Relay Program, then checks Bitcoin block headers and transaction proofs, and an equal amount of BTC is minted on the Layer 2.

On the Layer 2, users would send and receive BTC with fast finality and use DeFi features such as staking and decentralized exchanges. The chain would use the Solana Virtual Machine for throughput. Transactions would be batched, compressed and checked with zero-knowledge proofs, and the chain state would be committed to Bitcoin periodically.

To leave, a user requests a withdrawal on the Layer 2, the system generates a proof for the bridge, and the BTC is released to a Bitcoin address. The site marks the bridge and SVM work as in progress and mainnet as upcoming, so none of this can currently be used end to end.

6 features

Key features

01

Bitcoin Layer 2 plan

The site describes a Bitcoin Layer 2 that runs on the Solana Virtual Machine for higher throughput. It is described as in development.

02

Canonical bridge design

Users would deposit BTC to a monitored address, and an SVM program called the Bitcoin Relay Program would verify block headers and proofs before minting BTC on the Layer 2.

03

ZK proof settlement

The site says Layer 2 transactions are batched and compressed, validated with ZK proofs, and periodically committed to Bitcoin.

04

Multi-asset presale

Buyers can pay with SOL, ETH, BNB, BTC, USDT or USDC, or by card, with an option to stake at the time of purchase.

05

Staking page

A staking page is live in the interface, but it currently shows 0% APY, 0 staked and 0 stakers.

06

Published tokenomics

The site publishes a split: 30% development, 25% treasury, 20% marketing, 15% rewards and 10% listings.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • The site sets out a clear technical design for the bridge, Layer 2 and withdrawal flow.
  • Tokenomics are published as a simple five-way percentage split.
  • The presale accepts several major assets and a card option, with the tokens received in your own wallet.
  • The site shows its fundraising target and token price openly.

Watch out for

  • The Layer 2 is described as in development, and mainnet is listed as upcoming, so nothing can be verified on-chain yet.
  • The roadmap contradicts itself: it marks token distribution and listings as completed while the presale is still open, and ticks off mainnet items listed as upcoming.
  • No team names, audit reports, auditor or legal entity are published on the homepage, despite a claim that contracts were audited.
  • The homepage purchase feed lists placeholder-style tokens and tiny dollar values, so it does not show real activity.
  • Marketing (20%) and treasury (25%) take a large share of the token allocation, and the site describes its marketing in promotional terms.
  • Staking shows 0% APY, 0 staked and 0 stakers, despite copy about competitive rewards.

Bidcoin fees

The site does not publish fees for bridging, Layer 2 transactions, staking or withdrawals. Presale buyers pay 0.0337 USD per token as listed, plus network fees for the chain they pay on. Card purchases may carry processor charges that the site does not detail.

No fee schedule or fee-split for the planned Layer 2 is published. The whitepaper linked from the homepage is where any such details would appear.

Is Bidcoin safe?

No audit report, auditor, team or legal entity is named on the homepage, although the roadmap says contract auditing is complete. The Layer 2, bridge and proof system are described but not yet launched, so their security cannot be checked. Presale purchases are made by sending funds to the project, which means you rely entirely on the operators to deliver tokens and to launch the product.

A trustless Bitcoin bridge is technically difficult, and bridges have been a frequent target of exploits across crypto. Claims such as inheriting Bitcoin's security or industry-leading security practices are marketing statements, not evidence. Presales for unlaunched projects can lose all value, so check local rules on crypto offerings before buying.

6 steps

How to get started with Bidcoin

  1. 1

Confirm you are on the official Bidcoin address and not one of the many similarly named sites.

  2. 2

Read the whitepaper and tokenomics sections, and note which claims are described as completed versus upcoming.

  3. 3

Set up a self-custody wallet such as MetaMask and fund it with a supported asset (SOL, ETH, BNB, BTC, USDT or USDC).

  4. 4

Connect the wallet through a Buy or Connect Wallet button and enter the amount of $BIDCOIN you want.

  5. 5

Confirm the transaction in your wallet, or choose Buy and Stake if you want to stake immediately.

  6. 6

Keep records of the transaction and only commit an amount you can afford to lose entirely.

Who Bidcoin is for

Bidcoin suits experienced, risk-tolerant speculators who follow early-stage presales and accept that the token may never launch or trade. It is not suited to newcomers, to anyone seeking a working Bitcoin Layer 2 now, or to people who need audits, a named team and a legal entity before sending funds.

Bidcoin FAQs

What is Bidcoin?

Bidcoin presents itself as a Bitcoin Layer 2 that uses the Solana Virtual Machine and zero-knowledge proofs to make Bitcoin transactions faster and cheaper. Right now the live product is a token presale for $BIDCOIN. The Layer 2 itself is listed as in development.

How much does $BIDCOIN cost in the presale?

The site lists the presale price as 0.0337 USD per $BIDCOIN, with a fundraising target of 5,000,000 USD. The progress counter shows 0 raised. The site does not explain how the price will change after the presale.

Is Bidcoin legit or safe?

The homepage says the project has a Bitcoin bridge and SVM integration in progress, but lists mainnet launch as upcoming. It does not publish an audit report, a team or a legal entity. A project in this state carries a high risk of loss, and you should only consider money you can afford to lose.

How do I buy $BIDCOIN?

The site says you can pay with SOL, ETH, BNB, BTC, USDT or USDC from a crypto wallet, or buy with a card. A card purchase still needs a wallet to receive the tokens. It also offers a Buy and Stake option.

Does Bidcoin offer staking rewards?

The staking page shows 0% APY, 0 total staked and 0 stakers. It describes flexible terms and competitive rates, but publishes no reward schedule. A 15% share of the token supply is set aside for rewards and giveaways.

Is Bidcoin the same as other Bidcoin websites?

Several unrelated sites and social pages use the name Bidcoin, including coin auction sites and a separate memecoin page. This review covers only the Bitcoin Layer 2 presale at the official site. Check the address carefully before connecting a wallet.
